Berwick completed 8 league fixtures on 10th August against Worky and still had gaps in their home fixtures of up to a month. Not great by any means. 16 meetings with good fixture planning should be quite achievable.

I do enjoy the polish commentary even though I don’t understand it and on the extraleague coverage you get a fair few interviews in English as a lot of the riders speak it, as I’ve polish tv I find myself watching a lot of speedway documentaries which they show even though I don’t understand what they are saying, I should really learn the language I would probably enjoy it more lol

Well done to Lebedevs he is definitely improving this year,used to think he was danger on track ,but liking him these days certainly a brave and hard rider.

Yes, I saw him ride when the Lions visited Dudley Wood in 1969. He only got 1 point from 3 rides. but an average of 4.88 in his debut season suggests he would have been a bigger success if he'd returned to these shores. Best remembered I suppose as a member of that 1969 Leicester line up that were all ever presents in the British League.

I prefer the Polish commentary for the races. I don't need someone telling me what I can see and they get proper excited. I watch the premier league football in foreign languages too, I despise "so called" experts explaining the bleedin obvious. Maybe it's just me, but commentary is in whatever sport overhype. 😊

Not to my knowledge, but apparently Sheffield have put Brennan down for both meetings in the line-up submitted to the referee(?) Perhaps they've since realised their cock-up, hence the reason neither team seems to have put out full lineups yet.

Have to say I went to this last night and thoroughly enjoyed it. It certainly was a spectacle, and the sight of 12 riders all entering the first bend, and exiting the 2nd bend together was amazing - how on earth anybody didn't come off I don't know. There really was some excellent racing too. Is this a subsitiute for Speedway ? Well, I don't think its a subsitute but it certainly can co-exist and could bring a new audience to both sports. I saw very few folks there that I recognised as speedway fans, other than @tellboy. There were plenty of folks there who were very obviously bike fans in general, and where we were standing there was plenty of noise made when the British boys were racing. An interesting point, every single one of the 23 riders completed a victory lap after every single one of the 14 races and were roundly applauded by the crowd - something the speedway boys could do with following in my opinion. It was interesting to note that there were 10 different manufacturers represented in terms of machinery. It was also good to see some of the ACU / FIM representatives again, and to have a chat with them. Obviously, many people were thinking of Tony Steele who had put quite a bit of time into this before his sad demise.......
