If you did a bit of research of PL matches you'd find Mr Nicholls can still mix it up at that level too.4 points

Absolutely not. Lambert’s improvement went up levels after leaving British Speedway. Riding in the Elitserien was his turning point4 points

They're still wearing King's Lynn bibs riding for King's Lynn at King's Lynn you absolute melt.4 points

Considering he is riding as a heat leader and not had a spell at reserve like last season any increase on his average is impressive. Brennan has improved this year.3 points

Don't tell anybody, especially the Poole fans (like they'd see this on a PL topic!)... but I actually think the move to Poole has done wonders for him, had to improve his gating as it's such a dog rubbish track3 points

Although I’ve only come into the sport a few years back and never claim to know that much about it, I still feel like going to each home meeting is worth it. I live in Ipswich so I guess I don’t have to travel far but the team try and they are in the final and the play offs so I believe showing some support is always key and back the team. They have given us a great year so far even with injuries. To not back them now seems disappointing, win or lose it doesn’t matter. The sport needs building for sure, but everyone can be part of it.3 points

Genuine question for Lynn fans. Would you have Laguta back for next year?3 points

Reality check, if the attendance was indeed 29000 or thereabouts, that's 3 times the capacity of Belle Vue, even with the maximum additional stands. The parking and local facilities are not acceptable. There would be the same issues with accomodation prices as there are in Cardiff, as there are anywhere that's holding a major event. There are always geographical and transport issues for some no matter where you hold it. Finally, at Cardiff, It's guaranteed to take place regardless of the weather thanks to the roof. some people need to give their head a shake and look at the bigger picture instead of this fixation with 'It's got to move to Belle Vue'3 points

Nothing sums up this forum like the number of people prepared to come on this thread and tell us how bad Cardiff is and how they will never go! Who cares? Those of us who make a big effort for the weekend seem to love it! My partner and I enjoyed meeting some great speedway fans from up and down the country, enjoyed the racing, couldn't fail to love the result and thoroughly enjoyed the impromptu Q&A with Tai after the event. Thanks Tai! We're also going to Riga & Torun, which will probably cost less together than Cardiff, but it is the only speedway themed weekend in Britain. Posters throughout the city centre, stalls with 'dodgy' merchandise on the Main Street, streets closed for fans - don't remember anything like that in Manchester for the SoN?? It would be great to see two SGPs in Britain but did Belle Vue do themselves any favours with their overpriced tickets, resulting in a big temporary stand looking empty? Again the two of us enjoyed ourselves in Manchester for a weekend, but lets not have a competition for the best - lets get together for both!3 points

Luckily Anders likes being at Lynn, loves the track and would have it more grippy if he could. He also enjoys working with Rob who is one the best in the business. So some of these comments are laughable.2 points

he's averaged 5.08 at home and a great 4.85 away for us this season. Would be an absolute bargain on 3.7.2 points

Both Harris and Lawson can guest for either Jan, BB, or Klindt. King can guest for Jan and BB. Picko, Becker, Wright, Masters, z Cook, Brennen, can guest for NKI, or any of the 4. I think it will be 3 guests and RR.2 points

Surely this is a case of use it, or lose it. Being able to attend a prestigious GP for less than we pay to go to a league match is almost unbelievable. Don't get me wrong. Belle Vue has the potential for better racing. But looking at the big picture, Cardiff wins hands down in terms of a weekend event with no risk of the weather spoiling the event itself. The fear is that if we lose Cardiff, the British GP won't survive.2 points

Actually I've come to the conclusion that Schroeck's tactics were even worse than first thought, I get grief from Oxford fans on FB, but he keeps showing me how clueless he is. The updates made it look like the tac sub was in heat 11, so I had thought why not wait one race & replace a reserve in heat 12? Now I've seen the official scorecard, the tac sub was actually in heat 5, as Harris has taken the r/r outing in heat 1, that means after ONE ride each, both getting second places, Schroeck had decided not to give Wright or Riss an extra ride & instead give the reserves 8 rides between them. He's totally clueless, it's not even like Riss & Wright had poor first rides. Plus at that stage the reserves had taken 3 rides between them & not beaten an opponent. I understand that for Janowski to replace a reserve they'd have to wait to heat 12, but I still think that is the best tactic. If you're only 4 points down after 11 heats, then you're still in with a chance even if you miss the tac sub opportunity. Either that or give Wright the tac sub outing earlier on? But certainly use the tac sub instead of a reserve imo2 points

Shouldn't be any R/R in a DEVELOPMENT LEAGUE, even if the rider coming in has a way lower average than the missing rider who they are covering for, the 1-7 should be switched accordingly with averages on the day!2 points

If that's true, isnt that really good? I've been twice and there was more each time, but that was a long time ago. Regarding Manchester hosting a SON and how the finances went, me thinks a week of speedway with a meeting practically every night at the same track was stupid to begin with. And then they had rain... 🫤2 points

I had a great weekend in Cardiff, it isn't what it was but it can be brought back. I can't see anywhere having the same feel as Cardiff, it is special from start to finish. Yes there have been cuts but if people don't attend then who funds the extra activities. From day 1 there have been the people on these forums doing the event down, it a world class event for £20-£30. The only area that needs addressing is the hotel pricing, organisers and council should intervene and sort this out, more people staying for the weekend boosts Cardiff economy and income for organisers. As a second British GP could Odsal be considered?2 points

New housing estate in Studley Grange incoming to fund the non existent track, look at all those grazing unicorns and flying pigs.2 points

With thanks to Neil Vatcher we have added a full list of British Youth Champions to the NSSC website. There are some familiar names on the list and, sadly, several who are no longer racing. Take a look; https://www.nuneatonspeedwaysupportersclub.co.uk/british-youth-champions/1 point

Spent a chunk at reserve for easier rides last season. Now riding as a heat leader in the leagues weakest team but the strongest league strength in a decade. that 0.05 improvement is massive in real progress terms. Will be a steal on that average next season.1 point
-
Which means he has tougher rides,so his progression has been very good this season.1 point

I was impressed when I saw her (in your company if recall correctly) If there was a women's team event Germany would walk it.1 point

You’re right, yes. But he’ll start the month at 6.00. We all also knew we weren’t making the playoffs with the team we had, and the promotion decided sticking with a team that was known to not be good enough wasn’t acceptable. They showed they weren’t prepared to just accept the season petering out without trying it, even if it was ultimately fruitless. I think most of us expected more than we’ve seen though, even if we didn’t think it would be enough.1 point

Any young rider needs to be advised to stay away from Chapman and Allitt. BV, Ipswich or Sheffield would be the clubs to be looking at for there best future in the sport.1 point

He can, but minimum is 4.00 as Jaizer said. He will still be on 6.00 next month as he’s only completed 5 matches with tonight’s cancellation, and I don’t think we’ll be needing to worry about next year’s average!1 point

It's called the "changes to the atmospheric conditions prevailing above" regulation.... But only applies to left handed riders.. On Tuesdays... In May or June..1 point

the south stand parking is sold out already, so best to park on st peter school next door can see a comfortable aces win here with Sheffield getting a comfortable win in the evening1 point

I'm sure there's a rule somewhere that say the 8 day rule doesn't apply if it's overcast or there could be a shower the following day.1 point
-
Then I can't understand why he didn't take his 3rd ride? If he was injured they could use a reserve. So must've been fit. So risking losing the league title because you're not willing to borrow a bike! Obviously I don't know what's going on behind the scenes, but I wouldn't want someone at my club with that attitude.1 point

Well done Scott 46 yrs old seven rides only dropping six points and against some of the top PL riders he is true credit to the sport .I do hope he turns out in 2025 he seems to have pleny left in the tank and is not there just to make up the numbers .1 point

To be fair to Lambert he did seem fairly quick tonight and thought he probably deserved more than the couple of points he got. Shame the bonus point slipped away at the end. The fall that Harris had seem to effect his gating. In his two races after that he jumped out in front. Most uncharacteristic! Decent match all-round with some good racing. Bit dragged out though with a couple of restarts and delays for lots of two on the trots1 point

It's always good to see Janowski and Harris I must admit😉. We did do well tonight, but it has been a demoralising and draining season again.Hopefully Iversen will be back Wednesday.1 point

Some good racing tonight we all chipped in with some good scores except Lambert who is not a premiership rider, finished a bit late due the tractor racing.1 point

There was a group of Sheffield fans shouting "you're getting sacked in the morning" at Mickie Simpson after his engine failure in heat 6, don't know if it was just banter etc but felt out of place in a development league match to me!1 point
