Sad to hear of the passing of Milan Spinka at 73. Milan was a true speedway gentleman who wore many hats within our great sport. As a rider he excelled in all disciplines of track racing Speedway, Long track, Grass track & Ice speedway winning the World title in the latter. He was also a manager & coach to riders & teams at national & international levels as well as a Referee taking control of FIM events. Born in the Czech town of Pardubice home to the famous Golden Helmet event which he was very proud to have won in 1973 breaking the dominance of Jiri Stancl & Ole Olsen. Mr Spinka will be greatly missed by many of his friends around the globe. Best wishes to all his family & friends at this sad time. Thanks for the good times "Spinky" Ride fast6 points

For me, that was the deciding factor. Nicholls made a clean pass but because of his steering angle he was scrubbing off speed and therefore suddenly travelling slower than Wright, leaving him nowhere to go.6 points

Some comments on here about final race No matter what, the referee was on hiding to nothing as a tough call for him Right or wrong he made it We move on6 points

Plaudits for Tom Brennan for all his efforts and scoring 4 points. He did himself proud. well done5 points

Steve Worrall is ill otherwise he would have been Bomber's partner. Anders Rowe was signed to replace Steve Worrall; Anders average is lower than Steve's. So Glasgow haven't been strengthened by Anders being signed. Glasgow were not pulling a fast one or taking advantage of ambiguous rules. They replaced a rider rather than going down the route of guests - most fans hate guests. Having replaced the rider why shouldn't he then take his place in a pairs competition representing the side he has signed for? Well done to Anders and Bomber, 3rd place was more than I expected. Also hope that Charles and Scott are both OK after their 'coming together'.5 points

Belle Vue would be good for a second GP in the UK but given the state of UK speedway is it any wonder why anywhere in the U K can justify holding this event. Cardiff and Wales have been supportive of the sport and it should not be under-estimated the contribution Wales has made to the UK GP speedway. It is not a disgrace it is simply economics and whoever the piper is they call the tune. You also have not picked up that speedway is a second rate sport that does not deserve the exposure that the Cardiff Millennium stadium gives speedway. Face it, speedway is on its knees and the majority of the UK does not know it even exists and could not give a toss whether it is held at Cardiff, BelleVue or the IOW.4 points

I think all the comments on here support what the ref said afterwards (and top marks to him for showing his face and describing his thought process) There will be a % of people who see Nicholls at fault and a % who see it as Wright's fault, in the refs opinion that split was 60-40, or even 55-45 towards it being Scottie to blame. So you will get many arguing one way and another, but ultimately it's all irrelevant now, the result is history and Redcar won the Pairs. The downside was the reaction at the presentation, if Scott had a grievance it was with the ref not Charles, who 100% did not not want a collision. It appeared petulant and like a real spoilt brat throwing the toys out of the pram! Being a Bears fan, my view is possibly biased, so I'm not getting into the debate, but without doubt the title went to the correct team based on the running of the final, when you see where Masters was entering those bends, no way was he catching Wright, even if Nicholls had got passed and kept 2nd.4 points

Not bad from the 'throttle jockey' Bewley who people say can only do it in Poland and NSS Belle Vue. Twice won on the small track at Cardiff.3 points

Pretty good GP, passing in nearly all the races, good atmosphere despite the lower crowd, British winner what more can you ask, as good as a track as it is the day the GP goes to belle vue is the death of GP speedway in the uk3 points

With a 1-2 it can't be anything other than a successful night for British Speedway. For me it was maybe one of the better GP's we've witnessed in Cardiff.3 points

But Nicholls doesn't have to leave him room to do a cut back does he? Especially if there is still room on the outside, which there was and Wright would have known that having ridden there all season and seen the extremities of the track being used. And you know what thought did... and then he only thought he did. If he'd stuffed Wright into the fence, which he didn't then that would have been unfair riding, but there was still plenty of room on the outside as can be seen in the picture.3 points

As a measure of the man, I think being passed easily by lindgren in the final in gorzow hurt zmarzlik and despite him being a country mile infront of the opposition and nailed on world championship it’s not good enough just to win, he wants to win big, no I don’t think he is related to the Wroclaw rider3 points

Wrong, was announced in the stadium gp back at Cardiff in 2025, date and ticket details to follow soon, 30% discount for this year's ticket holders2 points

I love the people on here saying they are glad they didn’t go. Yet all the people who did go seemed to enjoy themselves. Perhaps it’s just not quite the same on TV huh?2 points

Well that was a fantastic evening at Cardiff, great atmosphere, great racing and tension with a Brit 1-2 and no holder or Zmarlik in the final. Added to being on a great city we really enjoyed it. Getting our tickets for 2025 very soon.2 points

Mr J Holder is the new " Mr N Pedersen", except that Mr J Holder hasn't the skill of Mr N Pedersen to win a Championship Mr J Holder is just plain reckless.2 points

Not sure how it worked out that Magic went out? All 4 riders equal on 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th. In the head to head section Magic and Robert should have went through (beat 2 other riders). If you then use rankings it would be Bewley who goes out against Vaculik or if you still use head to head then Vaculik would go out against Bewley. Glad I'm on holiday and didn't bother going.😀2 points

Or like "It's a Knockout"... Blindfold the riders... And have them carry coloured water around the track each side of the bike in buckets... Each have two buxom wenches dressed in alpine garb shouting "left, left left" as they hit the bends on one and three.. The one with the most water left at the finish in the buckets wins... Would pack em in.2 points

Shouldn’t be this hard, can whip up a fairly simple spreadsheet that totals everything up with different conditions against it2 points

Just wasn’t good enough tonight, due to the high standards he’s set the past 5 seasons or so he’s going through a bit of a rough period even his scoring in Poland has dipped a little bit.2 points

As someone who has never done it, but rides a motorbike, you just think "Wow"... How many decisions at nano second splits do you need to make in races like that... With the caveat that "I want to win this" rather than "How can I stay safe?" Is the overriding factor for every single rider...2 points

Everyone watching last night's Championship Pairs will better understand why Paco Castagna has not been 'snapped up' by a Premiership club!!2 points

1 thing not been mentioned as far as I've seen Scot not shaking Charles hand afterwards and looked like a few dummy spitting words It was ref who made the call right or wrong And I'm sure Charles didn't crash on purpose unless Scott did a great job of slowing race down im sure Redcar would have still won2 points

But Adam Roynon and Max Perry over last couple years appearing for teams they didn't represent that was ok? Leon was at Cardiff, Anders is in our 1-7 and has appeared in a competitive match in the 1-7. The only time the rules were changed for such an occasion was to stop screeny representing, you guessed it, Glasgow at the pairs. The meeting was clearly benefited by Anders riding in it. Pick up your petted lip on the way out2 points

As much as I admire Scott, I felt the decision was correct. Two riders giving it there all in the final. Scott locked up slightly on the bend and it left Charles with nowhere to go. Great shame that it ended as it did with the crash… I feel sure Scott could have got second… but then the result would likely be 6 - 3 to Redcar anyway. There is bound to be a lot of people on both sides of the fence.2 points

Spot on! As long as you're riding fair, which Nicholls was2 points

He could not avoid running into Scotts back wheel,he had nowhere to go. Tough decision but a correct one in my view.2 points

Unless there is a new promotion then they may be in with a chance but if Buster remains it will be the same old same again.2 points

And that was a terrible call as Fricke locked up causing Ellis to lay it down.2 points

I watched on BSN with all the replays. Was a massively tough decision for the ref but the rules say someone has to go and as far as I’m concerned the correct call was made under the circumstances. Wright was committed on the outside and had nowhere to go. And if anyone says the throttle works both ways….they don’t understand speedway.2 points
