Having those put together at short notice would mean finding someone called Fast Threadie I'll get my coat6 points

Not much to talk about on track, it was pretty turgid stuff and Stewart Dickson pretty much hinted as much after the match. Off track though, was listening to the rider interviews after the match and most of the Lions riders were being brought out for photos with a young family with a seemingly poorly young girl (by the new female promoter, sorry, I can't remember her name)... but special mention to Craig Cook who not only had his photo taken with the kids but also gave his, well deserved, rider of the night bottle of bubbly to the young family, probably making their night. Tremendous gesture and proves what a top bloke he can be6 points

Belle Vue don’t see the best of away tracks - never have. The best way to defeat a team of racers from Collins to Bewley is to make it ALL about the start. Trouble is it soon becomes the norm and gate’n’go wins are considered the way to go. This has been truly awful for a sport that can be so spectacular if allowed.4 points

Yes has been really sick all week - he should be congratulated on a great result.3 points

The racing was up there and more, Cook against Bomber was the pinnacle Poole probably just deserved it in the end but giving Pearson 5 rides when he could have had 7 was mind blowing. Poole are a very good team and well done to them.3 points

You should have got him to film the meeting on his phone , stream sorted knowing your luck he would only have a 3 gig data plan and miss heat 15.3 points

Wow, Ipswich fans expecting 55+, quite a pointless argument, like the one if we had Klindt and Basso,Lynn could of won, they didn't have them, like we could of had Doyley, and won by mote, but we didn't. Any away win is valued at this level, and if some of the Lynn fans had seen us at Leicester last Thursday like I did, then Lynn could feel a bit gutted they didn't win, as we were awful. That's Speedway, injuries are a big part of this sport, we have won meetings without Doyle,Ellis and King this season on many occasions, it is what it is, apart from speaking up on the subject of 55+(Pointless Conversation),I must add that's the 3rd time I've been to Lynn this season, and I'm hoping to go Monday Vs Sheffield and the crowds and supporters have been a pleasure to be around, all enjoyable evenings with good banter but MOST Lynn supporters knowledgeable conversations. As a genuine Speedway fan(Taking Ipswich out of it)I feel for all Lynn Supporters this season, they haven't had any luck with riders,Commitment from some and of course injuries, but they are a well supported team and hope they get sorted for next season, with or without Buster. Good night, and hope to be back Monday Night.3 points

One is run by Rob Godfrey, the other isn't. SCB/BSPL have been doing this for years. The Southern Trak Riders amateur group were forced out because they weren't allowed to run under another body at any existing SCB tracks and those tracks then priced them out of existence.3 points

Well after fifty five years following my two teams Leicester & Long Eaton, I thoroughly enjoyed last night's meeting. To all those who continually slag off the track, racing & everything else to do with Leicester speedway, may I suggest that you find something else to do on a Thursday night, before you have no speedway team to support. And to all those idiots who said there was no overtaking last night, what planet were you watching from, because I saw plenty off overtaking.2 points

No way would Max be scoring anywhere near what Vinnie has been scoring. Just need to get his gating to improve and he will be fine. We forget how young he is.2 points

Don't know whats more embarrassing, tonight's performance or the fact that we are going to run a full season with this reserve pairing. Where would we be if we didn't have cookie.2 points

Good to see Lewi Kerr riding well tonight not had the best of luck this season.Good job from Joe Thompson.2 points

A good meeting made even better by those in the stadium. If only that could happen over here but alas those days (and yes they did happen albeit the numbers were slightly lower) are just a memory for speedway u k.2 points

Possibly the strongest home reserves against the weakest away reserves, the posts are realistic rather than negative imo. But if I was a rider, I'd use comments as a motivation to prove people wrong, if I couldn't do that, I wouldn't go on the forum.2 points
-
Think he did a long time ago, now using Kevlars. Speedway is all about ups and downs and bouncing back. Some one is on a determined mission to slate a rider who gives it his all every time he rides. Time to get off the keyboard and show him how its done eh?2 points
-
Of course it would! You’re living in cloud cuckoo land if you don’t think Hawkins would have got stick if he’d selected by far Ipswich’ most important rider in a dead rubber heat and he’d picked up an injury that ended Ipswich’ season stone dead. It’s a cast iron certainty he’d have been slaughtered on here today. The chances of him riding in it and getting injured are slim at best, but it’s still a risk nonetheless which makes absolutely no sense to make. I don’t accept the “short changed” nonsense either because we were running with Rider Replacement so Emil still took to the track five times which he would have done if they were running with a full septet.2 points

Poole don't pay big money but they do guarantee payment on time.2 points

Simon Lambert has been a v.solid rider for his club and remains loyal.its not always about what he brings on the track but what he gives as a whole and you can't ask for more than that.2 points

Part of me hoping some of the possilparllk locals introduce certain someone to their buckfast we'll hear no more of flat whites!2 points

Don’t know if they do but knowing they could only get guests from Birmingham or unattached riders in the championship still baffling line up as putting your top 2 at 3&4 weakens you at 5 with the reserves. The turning point was when Rew kicked into gear and KL couldn’t get close to us. I’ve never seen Keynan so animated after winning his last 3 rides, fist pumping. When he walks from the track to the pits at Ipswich after a good ride he hasn’t shown any emotion before last night. It’s good to see.2 points

Shovlar, celebrating 20 years of the same predictable comments.2 points

I never expect an easy win against KL as it is a derby. I think being the start of school holidays had a lot to do with the amount of away fans, plus the lack of action at foxhall this month as with the rain off we have had no speedway in july at home2 points
-
Disagree with you totally. The meeting was won, and we have a cup final and the play offs to come. This is the very track that we lost our number 1 and STILL haven’t managed to replace him. Both Emil and Rew are both hugely important to any success we’re hoping to have this year. Lose either and it’s season over. You don’t risk either if you don’t need to, I’m sorry but that’s just bonkers to do so. I understand people being disappointed at not seeing them, but you have to be sensible here. If Emil was put in heat 15 last night when he wasn’t needed and he picked up an injury, I can guarantee this forum would be flooded with people this morning slaughtering Hawkins.2 points

Thought it was a bit more embarrassing for Ipswich that they couldn't at least hit 55 against a team with Kerr and Cook as their heat leaders. No matter what way you dress it up Ipswich and many Lynn fans expected you to get 55+ last night, that's why there were so many of your fans there last night. They knew it was an easy meeting to get the points.I haven't seen that many Ipswich fans there since the 80's/90's.I bet if Basso and Klindt were there you would have seen only a third of what was there last night.2 points

Why? The meeting was over. Hawkins has explained his decision which at the end of the day, is his to make and the only one that matters. Jenkins had only had three rides because he was replaced in an earlier ride when the result was still in doubt. Giving him his fourth ride when the meeting was already won makes sense to me. He’s the one rider we have that seems to be struggling and a little low on confidence, so they gave him his 4th ride to try and get him going and get a confidence boost and by all accounts, despite not beating a Lynn rider he rode well in 15? So that may have been achieved. I understand people want to see the best riders as often as possible, that’s obvious. But sometimes you have to get over your disappointment and try and understand why certain decisions like last night are made. We have bigger fish to fry and have already struggled to navigate missing riders through injury pretty much all season.1 point

A Costa in Glasgow who'd have thought it. We've also got a MacDonalds and Greggs.1 point
-
Just because he's been riding for 20 years, doesn't mean he'll be a heat leader, that's not how speedway (or any sport) works. He's a career Championship second string, no shame in that, the sport still needs riders like this. I'll agree he's been disappointing this season, maybe last season was a one-off great year, doesn't mean he needs to retire though.1 point

Club loyalties aside, surely you must question the validity of 'no streaming' at Glasgow?! It just seems strange when every other team does it and generates an extra income stream!1 point
