  3. Lost and move on, Berwick were never going to win at Oxford, again the weakness was lack of race wins.

  4. After a 5-week break during which time we have seen, a new Prime Minister, England not bring the euro's home, Gareth Southgate resign, one of the American Secret Service forget to shout Donald Duck, we welcome the Monarchs in a battle for league and bonus points. For the Bandits Ben Barker and Joe Thompson guest for long term injury victims Rory & Bastian. For the Monarchs Leon Flint after riding for us last night at Oxford, now rides against us guesting for the sidelined Justin Sedgman. My prediction 47-43 home win.

  5. Not much to talk about on track, it was pretty turgid stuff and Stewart Dickson pretty much hinted as much after the match. Off track though, was listening to the rider interviews after the match and most of the Lions riders were being brought out for photos with a young family with a seemingly poorly young girl (by the new female promoter, sorry, I can't remember her name)... but special mention to Craig Cook who not only had his photo taken with the kids but also gave his, well deserved, rider of the night bottle of bubbly to the young family, probably making their night. Tremendous gesture and proves what a top bloke he can be

  7. Aside from Sayfutdinov, Lynn fans could easily argue their team is as strong as the rest of the Witches. So if Lynn ride well, they can win.

  8. If you're one of the better "educated" fans that you claim to be, then surely you'd know that there is absolutely NOTHING to be gained by anyone publicly slagging the club or it's riders, especially via the clubs official channels, be that on the website or in the programme. Change the record, your patter is boring

  9. As I've said before, we know why rider's leave King's Lynn. Lyon works his socks off to try and keep peace but their are 2 proper clowns at this club. At the same time, this sport can't allow tapping up and allow rider's to just leave and move elsewhere at the drop of a hat. This sport is struggling enough, that would just make it an even more so, absolute farce.

  10. Which is utterly ridiculous - he is either declared or released - it cannot be both How can it possibly be right to confirm a contract as cancelled but then have any control over a new contract being agreed without any financial consideration provided to retain that condition

  15. The clubs really don’t help themselves do they. It costs nothing to promote your own fixtures and they obviously can’t be bothered. Hence why so many former customers don’t bother either.

  18. I don't think that's the case. I think they have decided they want the stadium as full as possible, and as good businessmen, they will know very well how much money was in the streaming. They have very clearly decided it wasn't worth it.

  20. Why do I keep reading about all this great racing at Leicester, every time I’m here it’s not great and not a single pass in 9 heats. Could write result down after 2nd bend. didn't put any water on back straight before, blue groove by heat 3 then watered that led to Fricke falling and causing Bewley to crash and knocked out.

  22. Lets hope Zach Cook rides like he did the other night for Oxford. He'll be out to impress for sure. Should be a decent crowd, with some from the Foxhole in attendance. Would love the win, but my head says 42-48

  24. So we’re “to accept” that Musielak has been riding in this country for many years, for Wolves, Swindon, Sheffield, and been a loyal servant to all his clubs. But by some coincidence he rocks up at the complete circus that is King’s Lynn speedway and suddenly it’s boooo! He’s a bad egg who walks out on his clubs when according to you, someone else shows him a bit of skirt? I notice Bagpuss has been very quiet on this recently but he did hint that he’d “heard” what’s gone on, maybe you’d like to share what you’ve heard Bagpuss?

  25. Harris, Flint and Pearson would be three rides with Pearson potentially getting the other if Ivacic isnt up to it. It could also be a Harris Tactical Ride if needs must. We've also got to hit the ground running unlike last Friday against Scunny when they got their own way for the first 5 or so heats before we woke up. If someone could also help Pearson with his chains that would also be appreciated.

  26. Just because he's been riding for 20 years, doesn't mean he'll be a heat leader, that's not how speedway (or any sport) works. He's a career Championship second string, no shame in that, the sport still needs riders like this. I'll agree he's been disappointing this season, maybe last season was a one-off great year, doesn't mean he needs to retire though.

  27. TBF there was no tapping up involved. Ipswich have nothing to do with Musielak not returning to King’s Lynn. They’ve simply enquired as to his availability once it was known he wasn’t returning to Lynn. Whether you believe it or not is up to you of course.
    1 point
  28. Hypothetically, what should King's Lynn do if Musielak signs for Ipswich / Sheffield? Sign a 3 pointer? With no replacement, what regulation should King's Lynn work to for guests?

  29. I mean speedway clubs can seemingly sack a rider at the drop of a hat so common sense would suggest contractually there isn’t a notice period in either direction as it can’t be one rule one way and not the other as such if a rider decided he wanted to leave his employer and take up another more appealing job elsewhere what’s the problem? The scb puts a 28 day withholding services ban on a rider and then surely they should be able to sign wherever they want no? if a team drops a rider the scb doesn’t then make the club who have dropped him pay start money for 28 days do they? No protection for riders being sacked but also if you decide you want to leave and ride somewhere else sorry mate we’re gonna block you from that.

  30. Of course it's right. It's also been the rule for decades. It's only now an agitation because it effects your clubs plans. Secondly, it was Musielak's choice to walk away, why should King's Lynn make it easy for him & Ipswich / Sheffield.

  31. I was thinking R/R would be better as well, give our guys more race time with Harris getting an extra ride. With JP you have a strong rider to come in if anyone is struggling.

  32. To watch him leave the track on crutches was not nice. He has said this morning he's hoping to see his own doctor in Denmark asap. He thinks its another sprain but worse than previously. To be honest I'd be more than happy if he rests up and we cope with what we've got, Tobias moves to reserve for August (Sam Hagon to 2) so he could easily clean up for the Pirates next month!

  33. He is or has been suffering with an illness this past month &, as captain, maybe he does not want to let the side down.

  34. Going off last year if a club wants Musielak to guest then he can but that might only apply if Sheffield want him.

  37. I suppose that in the Holder/Lampart case, the referee did not exclude anyone, as noone fell off. If Lampart had fallen, then it would certainly have been Holder's fault.

  38. I’m not bothered about streaming - more interested in watching live but I rather fear for the Tigers in this one. Riss for Stevie should help and although Ivacic ended with a win it was only after Mountain had messed up/been wrongly excluded (take your pick). IMO only a strong start for Tigers will see them through otherwise, the swashbucklers will take all the points and LBW will overdose on flat whites

  39. That's the best news Lynn have had in recent months, for a 2nd string/reserve to be fit to race at No1 for us

  40. Absolutely no need for any of that... You only have to see the joy on the faces of the managers and promoters during the TV meetings to see how seriously they take it to know all is well, and that they must be delighted at the way they run the sport, and the direction of travel that they have the sport heading in.... They certainly don't need any outside help from "professionals" in expert fields given they run things so well... More of the same next season please..... And the season after.... And the season after that.. And the etc etc etc (If it still is going)...

  41. JJ is correct. The track was watered continuously from early morning, and it was only towards the end that there was any dust. Personally, I seriously doubt whether many of the people who post on this site have actually been in attendance at the matches that they comment on. There is a hard core who come what may, will never be satisfied and a good many more who seem to just follow on and and add their own opinions to these comments.

  42. Second that! I hate the fact that Ipswich get a 5-1 and i jump from my seat and celebrate whilst other people note it down in their book Haha. Like i have said before, i live in Ipswich 3 weeks (and born in Ipswich) and work from Gorzow 1 week each month, Poland passion is unrivalled for speedway. Only bonus is i can get to the toilet and back in the break in Ipswich as there is no queue! I don't get the Football vs Speedway Fan thing, why not just embrace two sports if that's what you enjoy! Lastly: Not sure you can call people children tell them to go back to school and then in the same conversation call people morons... just an observation "Could the children please go back to school asap? I thought that speedway supporters were more mature than football moron fanatics. Time to show the adult side of your characters."

  46. I'm not sure I buy the watering down argument, yes it is watered down somewhat to what it used to be and that was probably understandable post-pandemic/brexit, but in recent years it has been watered-up again with the return of some "stars". Personally I think the reasons are many, I don't think there's one overall reason, you can tinker about with the rules until the cows come home, tac subs, league points, average limits, who you can sign and when it will not attract a single new fan. The best money British Speedway could spend would be getting some kind of consultant in to write a report on the current state of the sport and the reasons behind that and a plan for a complete overhaul. That may involve changes a lot of which the current fan base (and riders) may well not be happy with.

  47. Not sure if it’s a rule or it’s at discretion of referee but how do you define dangerous? Intent or just out of control? I can think of a couple who fit in to the later category but I can’t think of any who fit the first, the whole sport is fairly dangerous by it’s nature but I believe is very safe now compared to how it was, I think every rider has respect in some way for every other rider and wouldn’t set out to hurt another rider despite harder riding by some than others
