  1. Comic post of the day. Poole have to build to the rules of the Championship, not Premiership. So of course this current team isn’t good enough for the Premiership. But if we were in the top flight, you can be sure we would be at the pointy end.

  2. After a hiatus of 5 years (due to first Covid and then a family illness) I have just returned from my first trip to Poland since 2019. Sat in the main stand of the Olympic Stadium, Wroclaw on Friday night, I realised just how much I had missed the ‘buzz’ of being at an Ekstraliga match!! It was a great experience, very tasty ‘kielbasa w bulce & piwo’ (sausage in a bun and beer) in the fan park pre-match, good racing to watch, a fabulous atmosphere and, overall, a superb way to spend my birthday night. I even had the pleasure of a chat with Dan Bewley whilst getting ready to board the outbound flight last Tuesday. Dan was heading for a practice session in Wroclaw on Wednesday, before heading back to the UK for the Aces match on Thursday, and then back again to Wroclaw for Friday. And, just to say thanks again to Racers and Royals for his advice on the Wroclaw ticketing arrangements when I messaged him a few months ago now. Now back to the NSS for the Aces v Oxford tomorrow night – hopefully some good racing to watch, but maybe not quite the same 13,675 noisy & partisan crowd!!

  3. I wouldn’t believe a single thing that comes from King’s Lynn, not a single word.

  4. With the size of the League it’s Pathetic we’re talking about cut off dates.

  5. Who, knows, we have been struggling for some free Fridays if you don’t count the 8 we have had in the last 10 weeks.

  6. Surely if the boy Musicylak is with-holding his services to Kings Lynn , he cannot be allowed just to sign up for another club in the same league ? Kings Lynn surely have a contract with the rider for the 2024 season ? If he is allowed to ride for another club surely there should be a transfer fee involved ? For once I support the SCB BSPA BSPL (or whatever they call themselves nowadays) in barring Musicylak from riding in PL for anyone but Kings Lynn. I see the non viable PL is now regularly exposed as the fixed race nights of only Monday and Thursday racing, even with just 7 teams, just means fixture backlogs cannot be recovered. Some years ago I proffered that cancelled meetings should not be re-run. Teams should each be awarded 1 point. Clear incentive to home team to get fixture ON.

  7. If KL are blocking the Witches from using TM then I would hope they encourage the team to refuse any guest bookings...

  8. Nice one, just shut King's Lynn down then

  9. I’m sure he will do exactly that. And that is the problem why you struggle to attract riders and struggle to retain them.

  10. Rob Godfrey having a whinge about Friday's meeting on BSPL website today. Don't think anyone else would be allowed to openly criticise the referee without sanction. As for the incidents he complains about: 1. Bomber fell on the first bend, most times the referee calls all four back. 2. Jack Smith might have moved but Connor Mountain's helmet touched the tapes. 3. Heat 14 Mountain and Ivacic's bikes locked together on the back straight and they fell on 3rd bend. From the refs box there's no way he can see who's moved in or out but he can assume that Mountain's footrest has stuck in Ivacic's bike. Therefore Mountain is the primary cause of the stoppage. Sour grapes from Godfrey.

  11. You really are a massive pr..k, Sam like a lot of lads is trying hard to make a successful career out of speedway, sometimes they just get it wrong, do you actually think bewley, lambert and especially Bart got it right every single time, they just got into a habit of going around the pits saying sorry to move experience riders and that’s what Sam and all the young riders have learned to do since time immortal, try being in Sam’s shoes last night travelling home, do you actually think he would have been delighted? Do everyone a favour and keep your comments to yourself unless they are helpful to young lads please .

  12. Yet a team can drop a rider at any time with no notice and no financial liability Qutting/withholding services carries a 28 day ban - once served he should be free to ride elsewhere If not every dropped rider should be due a full seasons income for such a binding contract

  13. If Lynn pull out of the PL this season without fulfilling their fixtures, the same promotion should not be allowed to compete in the CL next season imo

  14. I suspect the truth is that VJF was fit enough to continue. I suspect the problem was that having wrecked 2 bikes that when the other 6 Pirates were asked to lend him one the universal answer was Erm... "no" Not without a signed damage waiver at the very least. The kid is very fast but very wild. No one wants to see him (or anyone) hurt but he really does need a wise head in his ear to calm him down.. Poole couldn't risk the spectacle of 3 riders and only 1 Pirate because no one would risk their machinery.

  15. Trouble is when you burn your bridges when you need a guest your options are more limited. Looks like mpt can be added to the list too.

  16. To be fair as the Scunthorpe promoter he is always going to judge it in favour of his own team. I have no issue with what he says it won’t change the outcome.

  17. Instead of knocking the four young men riding at reserve, why not watch the meeting and post your thoughts, good, bad or indifferent then It's no wonder so many youngsters get disillusioned after a few seasons of riding.

  20. Discovery Plus Standard (which includes Eurosport) is currently on offer for only £3.99 a month until the the end of 2024 and will then auto-renew at the usual £6.99 a month after 31st December unless cancelled. Offer ends 11th August 2024. If you have Eurosport Player this is being turned off 22nd July and you will need to sign up to Disocvery Plus Standard. Check your emails as I was given a code for Discovery Plus Standard at £3.49 a month until the end of 2024. I hope this helps someone.

  21. Yes like you then, go nowhere near a track where Poole are racing, but likes to post drivel . There is a Poole v Scunthorpe thread up and running, time for you to post on there

  22. 'If it was due to not having machinery' then he would have still had to have 3 rides (possibly 3 rider races) but if declared unfit to ride, then Sam Hagon could take his rides. But as you say he was fit to take his place in the rerun, then was suddenly unfit!!

  23. I’m a bears fan, and much as I am disappointed we lost, the best team won because they have the ruthless winning mentality,Redcar are too nice, but let’s not kid ourselves, Poole are masters of the dark arts,Foord was declared fit to race in heat 2 rerun until someone had a word in his ear, and how can you declare a tac sub in heat 11 and then just change your mind.!! But teams like Poole,Scunthorpe,Glasgow do this while the meek are left behind.

  24. Jeeezarse, they say I moan about King's Lynn but at least I can end a conversation I've never heard anyone go on & on & on & about a subject on totally the wrong fackin' thread too. Oh my dayz

  26. The wrecked bikes are insignificant, Poole took the opportunity to declare their weakest rider injured. What about the EF that won Poole the match? Forgot about that?

  27. you would still win if you booked Tom Jones.

  28. I've always said can't be money related, must have decided as they cannot get anybody to come over, give Luke a chance now with a view to next season, absolutely no chance we can win the play offs regardless without a new top rider so that 's it. Just leaves us extremely weak for the last few meetings.

  29. And this is one of the reasons, the riders think they run the sport and take the piss at times

  30. I don't think you understand the rules. After completing 75% of fixtures, no team changes can be made. Once Oxford race tomorrow, they can't change their team. Similarly Belle Vue have only the next 7 days to secure their nos.6 & 7. After next Monday's meeting, they can't make a change. That's why people are saying there is a "last chance" to impress teams.

  35. You won’t be signing a replacement for Musielak until after the Ipswich v Kings Lynn fixture on August the 1st where Ipswich reach their 75% cut off. There are games at play here and it doesn’t need spelling out.

  40. Just home , well done Worky lads for giving it a good go, yes we got the aggregate bonus point which was always the aim after the team was decimated. Hope Justin Sedgmen is ok from the nasty looking crash, also Batch is injured too but hopefully ok. 50 Worky fans made the trip up and Cookie certainly put on a show , even Antti improved and got a win in his last ride and wee Sam got a second place in his last ride . Well done to the Meteors who came home with a cup.

  41. Oh dear, so every match that teams are missing riders cause they’re weakened shouldn’t go ahead? So should Workington have postponed when we were there Earlier in the season when we couldn’t get a guest for Pickering or a decent replacement for Lasse? Brain dead.

  42. First and foremost, Oxford Stadium is a greyhound stadium. The owner is quite happy to allow speedway on site. Often, as on Thursday there is greyhound racing during the day and I suspect the track curator was unable to to water and grade consistently throughout the day. Yes the delays at the start of the meeting were frustrating but it still finished at 21.25 hours precisely. Will Oxford speedway lose custom as a result of Thursday's meeting? Absolutely not. We had 2 track records and some fantastic racing with multiple passing and re-passing. Just look at the Speedway Updates proboards to check that out - gate and go it was not. Despite many people stating that Oxford were set up to fail with 3 teams, that was never going to happen because we are delighted to have regular speeday each week. One final point, the promotion have been brilliant since the re-opening. So, onwards and upwards.

  43. Barely 30,000 (tops), people watch it each week in the UK... That is considerably less than 0.1% of the population... No surprise it gets ignored by the mainstream media.. BSB, MX fans, Stock Car fans, Ice Hockey and Basketball fans and even Crown Green bowling supporters, could argue the same..
