I had quite an e-mail exchange with the BSPL Office about this. The reply I received was: "You have quoted the rule yourself and it does not mention 'assessed', it says 'have an established MA' and Robert Lambert DOES have an established average, from 2019, he just hasn't done enough meetings to update that for this season. Without appearing to be too long winded, that rule is with regards riders who have never had an established MA, hence it does not mention 'assessed'. I believe other riders in a similar position have guested this season, but nobody has queried that? I don't want to drone on but what if a rider is riding on his converted CL MA and has that * by his name, have they ever not been able to guest? Next season that box will be changed as it is obviously misleading when it suits!" This was my reply: "Having taken some time to digest your reply on 22 September, I have looked more closely at the SCB Regs and they prove how poorly written and open to interpretation they are: You said: That being said, I wondered why Lambert’s scores from 2019 haven’t been carried forward as part of a Rolling Average to contribute towards an updated Green Sheet, which seems the most logical approach. I then realised the Regs say only scores from the last two seasons can count towards an Established MA. If that’s the case, why is an average with scores from as long ago as 2019 considered to be an Established MA? There is nothing in the Regulations which states that an average from more than two seasons ago can be used - I guess the argument is that there’s nothing in the Regs which state that old MAs can’t be used? Of course, the Regs also say: "A Premiership Assessed League rider will establish an MA after completing 3 home and 3 away qualifying fixtures." Robert Lambert is shown in the current Green Sheets as having an Assessed MA (there is no disputing that, whatever spin is put on the * next to his name and the Key at the top right), and has not completed 3 home and 3 away qualifying fixtures, so he has not got an Established MA. Please note: as far as I’m concerned, this has nothing to do with the specific rider and/or teams involved - as stated above, it highlights that the SCB Regulations are poorly written and open to interpretation, and also how the BPSL/SCB do not make their decisions transparent to the fans. The Regulations must not be tweaked, because when one area is updated, it can often cause problems elsewhere - as seen in 2022 when Belle Vue were able to use (ironically) Robert Lambert. I think it has been said many times in the past that the Regs are being reviewed - wording regarding averages and guests, in particular, must be rewritten, proofread, wargamed and checked again to iron out all this uncertainty." Remember when quite a few of us on here (myself included) were sceptical about Chris signing at the start of last season... He's been absolutely incredible2 points

Mike Hunter's media briefing on Sunday's event.... Young Czech Jan Kvech has made a major impression both in the Grand Prix series and his outings in the UK for King's Lynn, and the organisers of the Ben Fund Bonanza are very happy to have secured his participation in the restaging of the event at Workington on 14th July. SRBF Chairman Paul Ackroyd comments "I went to Birmingham last week to check whether Freddie Lindgren was still available for the restaging, but unfortunately he can't do it. However Jan Kvech quickly offered to take up the position! I've seen his early meetings in the UK at King's Lynn and Birmingham and also last weekend's Grand Prix where he did well. I've been impressed each time. He's a lovely lad to talk to also." There's more good news because two further top class performers have joined the field, namely Charles Wright and Adam Ellis, both former British Champions (bringing the number of ex-British Champions to four!) We thank Charles and Adam for coming in at short notice. Craig Cook and Danny King of course are also former double Bonanza winners, with Ben Barker also a Bonanza Champion. Ackroyd commented "We are very happy with the field we have, including two flamboyant members of Team USA as well, I'm sure there will be plenty of eyes on them." A sad reminder of the importance of the Speedway Riders Benevolent Fund arrived on Monday night with the injuries sustained by Tate Zische at Belle Vue. The young Aussie has taken the UK by storm this year and had also agreed to ride in the Bonanza prior to his accident. Everyone associated with the SRBF sends him every good wish for a speedy recovery.2 points

With clubs having so few matches, it's odd they haven't / can't / won't organise the fixtures better. But that relies on clubs working together, something that seems to be lacking at times.1 point

Wrong!!!! Since he left British Speedway behind is more accurate, F all to do with Kings Lynn. At that time the SCB not the BSPA/L refused to let him ride a 500cc motorcycle so Robert et al upped sticks and effed off to Germany. Despite that Robert is fully committed and moreso once he has agreed to race for any club and this is all subject to his ongoing commitments. He gives his word and he keeps it so the diary has to work or he ain't doing a Laguta !!! Please don't speculate on someone/something that you do not fully understand, it really is time someone banged your speculative inconsiderate opinions where they belong.1 point

I will reply, but i'm not getting into a slanging match. I know i will get the usual stick i've had all last season, starting from your first meeting when NP fell, some unfairly imho.. I'm not the most articulate of people by a long shot, but.. Firstly i will apologise for mentioning ALF on the forum. I shouldn't of mentioned that. But i still think it's you Friday is my pub day, and i was a tad pi%%ed and wound up with all the crap Lynn/ Buster is getting of late. Like yourself, i'm passionate about my club. Just a couple of things.I'm pretty sure that Mick Bratley said on here that Buster couldn't rock the boat when the season was running (apologies if i'm wrong).. That might go some way to explaining what he said over the mic( but i don't know). And tbh do you 100%, or anyone else for that matter. Iknow Buster wanted out at the end of last season, and that he doesn't seem to involved with trying to save the club btw. Regarding the fence, lights etc, Bratley also said that" Buster wasn't the bad guy here" regarding them. If he didn't remove them, they would get someone who will, and would bill Buster for it. As for not selling the club (or what's left) to the consortium.. He is going to, but it has been said that they won't buy it yet!! , because they don't have anywhere to race. I know from someone as close as you can get, that Buster thought the club was as good as sold to MT, and he told me he had seen plenty of proof of that. CJ also said they had found land. So to me it looks like MT spouting what seems to have been rubbish, that he either couldn't or wouldn't back up. I know BC isn't perfect by a long way, and i'm certainly not a bloody Ninja. I've given him some stick on here in the past. It's just some things( not all) i think he gets undeserved stick for. Thats all, because we don't want to fill the Lynn thread with PB's problems.1 point

I'm waiting to giggle at who you call a marquee signing in 2024 if Robert Lambert hasn't been one of them over the last 2/3 years.1 point

Glad it’s hammering down. If any club should be afforded some leeway its Workington. First year in the second league, had their star rider injured in horrific circumstances earlier this week and clearly the place to be for up and coming youngsters. were they not also running speedway/sport evenings in the gazebo before they were burgled by the lovely caravan folk. this forum is mental, club does all the right things and gets hammered for rightly calling a meeting that probably would have cost them thousands, early, and everyone’s ready to stick the knife in.1 point

Urrrm, is this something to shout about?? Apart from their clear fascism and racism what else would a vote for them be for??1 point

Firstly, I wouldn't want to know you ....... you clearly belong in some sort of Saddo institution. As for the constructive posts I think you need to review most of the bilge you've posted over the last 8 - 9 months the vast majority of which is vitriolic. As for personal attacks ............... "hark at the kettle calling the pot black" and your definition of speaking the truth is well wide of the mark. As for politics/stance ......... I voted Reform and our guy got in (so very much a case of up yours)!1 point

Am I the only one who thinks this is a real shame if true? I was one of those who thought no thanks to riding at my club and he shouldn’t be allowed back near the sport but I watched his interview and thought he showed genuine remorse and wanted to put it behind him and be a better person, from that point I thought everyone deserves a second chance but maybe I’m just gullible.1 point
