Let’s not start the political b0llocks on here as well ffs I’ve had a gutful of that on just about everything else7 points

Glad it’s hammering down. If any club should be afforded some leeway its Workington. First year in the second league, had their star rider injured in horrific circumstances earlier this week and clearly the place to be for up and coming youngsters. were they not also running speedway/sport evenings in the gazebo before they were burgled by the lovely caravan folk. this forum is mental, club does all the right things and gets hammered for rightly calling a meeting that probably would have cost them thousands, early, and everyone’s ready to stick the knife in.6 points

We should sign whoever flies around the NSS next week so we only get comfortably beat there next time instead of slaughtered4 points
-
With this being shown on discovery+ not only are they not wanting us to attend(cost) looks like they don’t want to watch it either3 points
-
They’ve had your pants down here. Pretty certain 99% of people knew this was a joke. Calm down for goodness sake.3 points

Daniel, That is an ill-informed, uneducated and untrue statement. Your opinion? apparently YES but Fact - NO! Anyway, back to the speedway (This is speedway-forum.co.uk is it not?)3 points

Don't think it will make much of a difference for Poole, they're favourites to win everything whether that's with Foord, Perry or a 2.00 guest. Good news for Foord though.2 points

Well let's reward the guy who's put almost 2 points on his average by dropping him?? Guys won us two meetings when we've been utter garbage. Replacement wise for 4 points you can only get a non Brit who has never raced in the UK, or at any level in Poland..... So i'd probably stick with the guys that's scoring well round ashfield2 points

Not sure many Glasgow fans could figure the Starke signing in the first place.Well past his best.2 points
-
He should be at number 2 however Starke was never meant to perform so badly. At 2 Starke is paired up with Bomber in 3 of his 4 rides so the reality is we are more guaranteed to get 3-3's with him in that heat than having him paired up with Leon and having to rely on him in heat 14. But again you can opt for the "Cami's clueless" option if you think that sounds more probable.2 points
-
Urrrm, is this something to shout about?? Apart from their clear fascism and racism what else would a vote for them be for??2 points
-
It would be very harsh on Smith to wait until he's out 2+ points so his average, then drop him! Dropping Starke for a 5 points rider, putting Pearson at reserve, may be the only change they need to make.2 points

I have spoke to you, many times, You seemed ok, via PM. I have said to you, i think your Aguta Fan... Have i not???? You denied it.... But your not a 100% speedway fan either way., are you ?2 points

I'm not ITK as you put it, but i would certainly imagine by the time we go to Leicester on the 18th we could possibly have a new rider in, and i wouldn't rule out Musielak coming in' if not for us then Sheffield, but i would think Simon Stead will be working on Robert Lambert next week to replace Tai, but can see Musielak back riding here in next few weeks. Although id like to think Chris Louis could also be at Manchester all next week trying to talk someone into Foxhall for the run in. Trouble is we don't know who is making themselves available, so as per usual it's a guessing game.1 point

Can we get back to Kings Lynn speedway? This so called banter is getting BORING.1 point

Get some sawdust down... The lads out in boiler suits... And the Captains doing a few laps each to spread around the slop, and we would be all good to go by half three...1 point

I would say it had more to do with the riding position Claus had at Birmingham which probably made him less than enthusiastic leading to his average dropping quickly?? he built his 2021 average up over 8 riding at #3 for Glasgow as opposed to Birmingham's #1. He then came back to Glasgow and built his average back up riding at #4. Additionally 2022 averages were based over 10 meetings, so having a cheeky 1 or 2 point meeting could get a big average down quicker. 2023 and 2024 it's based on 20 meetings so takes a lot longer to influence. Starkes 22' and 23' seasons were done from riding at 2 and 3/4. So bringing him in on a 4 sticking him in at 4 and expecting a massive improvement was always going to be a far stretch.1 point

Very heavy rain now, going against every forecast, just shows can't predict anything these days.1 point

I do have a sense of humour. But upsetting fans by posting HOAX photos and putting them off visiting Northside, will detract from potential revenue, and these days more than ever, we dont want to lose money ! One poster seemingly already BELIEVED that photo !! Have a laugh yes, but not if it any way affects Workington Comets revenue !1 point

Not for me neither.Don't want to keep going with the same old.1 point

Thanks for confirming my post that is is NOT a photo of Workington Comets Arena Steve !1 point

11 hours after the postponement & the match is still advertised on the British Speedway website. If it was called off early to save on travelling / hotel bills etc perhaps they should get on to the BSPL to ensure the website is up to date. Similar thing happened when King's Lynn called off a meeting, left on the website for a long time after. For a "professional" sport, it's not good enough.1 point

Glasgow could easily make the top 4, 2 points behind Workington with a home match in hand, 2 points behind Redcar with 2 home matches in hand. Even have 2 home matches in hand over Oxford (5 points behind).1 point

I like Pearson I think he’s a decent little rider. Threw in at the deep end really into the main body at the start of the year. Ace is showing improvement and the pair of them are only young lads. As for starke, well I’m glad he riders for Glasgow and not us1 point
-
You can’t compare polish (carpet) tracks to English tracks, maybe make a case for Belle Vues track but the others are different. He also had an extra ride tonight in for the absence Tai, although granted 14 is still a great tally for a meeting! I’m not just saying it because I’m Ipswich but Emil is a freak how good he is on our tracks! Although kvech is doing well!1 point

Still think Starke, Pearson and possibly Ace are too weak on a home and away basis. Rose tinted specs for those who see James at Glasgow but away he is poor and that threatens the bonus points. Top four gone now, how about bringing over Slater Lightcap with a view to next year.1 point

AB moved at the start 3 times. IMO due to the lack of consistency among referees the ruling should be changed. Every rider knows if they touch the tapes they're either off 15m or replaced by a reserve, while still having to have three rides. So allow them to move as much as they like like once the Greenlight comes on. If you touch the tapes along with your 15m handicap / reserve replacement you also get a fine. £50 in PL and £25 in CL with no financial penalty in NDL as those riders will as they move up, learn not to move. Fines to SRBF1 point

TBF in real time I would have excluded Tungate but watching the extensive replays in the bar Scott did try to drop it on Tungate when he had the outside line to use. You could see from his left arm position how hard he pulled it across Tungate. There was no racing room left so contact was always going to be the outcome. I don’t especially rate last night’s referee most of the time but i genuinely feel she made the right decision.1 point

If you want to see a snowflake take a good hard look in a mirror......... you are constantly on here bitching like a petulant spoilt brat and directing your wrath at Buster and KL Speedway. As for your constant venomous tirade............ maybe you see it as a "joke" but its becoming increasingly obvious that several others don't! Your anti KC/KL Speedway "banter/joke" (aka vitriol) has gone on for about eight/nine months................. you have become VERY boring !! Now why don't you run along and take up a new hobby such as CRAZY golf ............ at which I'm sure you'd quickly become a master!!!1 point

Thank goodness the "GP Stars" are back... What would we have done without them?1 point

Whatever business acumen Nigel Tolley has he needs to bring it to the Speedway management team, because as things stand it appears whoever makes the decisions at Birmingham Speedway does not have a clue how to pick an actual team, this season is already proving to be another write off and Birmingham will end up with nowt again except for more £££££,s down the drain, and that's the worry how long can Tolley continue throwing money at a losing team ?. I will say again if Nigel Tolley continues then he simply must get an experienced proven manager in, one that knows how to pick/manage a winning team.1 point

Belle Vue Speedway Trust Announcement. Following the events of Monday evening, the Trust has been in discussion with the Speedway Riders Benevolent Fund and has agreed to provide Tate's mother with the air fare to travel to the UK, from Australia, to be with her son. The Trust will also contribute to any additional welfare that is required during her stay, over and above that which the SRBF will provide. Whilst it is too early to be precise, the Trust intends to provide further assistance to Tate during his period of rehabilitation, be it in the UK, or back in Australia. All this would not be possible without the tremendous support we receive week in week out from the Supporters of Belle Vue and the unfailing efforts of David Burroughs and his team from the BVSSC. A huge thank you to you all. Philip Gunning Chair of Trustees. The trust money comes from fans doing 50/50 draws, interval ball game etc.1 point

Lemo seems to have the biggest decision to make, who do you go for out of an injured Holder, an injured Kurtz with home track knowledge and an up and down Fricke with a lot of BV knowledge? Knowing Lemo it'll probably be a left field decision.1 point

a relief to hear that Tate is staying upbeat and an admirably humble and thoughtful post under the circumstances i look forward to seeing him return next year, undeniably one of the hottest prospects on the scene1 point

Unfortunately, Len Silver decided to take the money and run with no thought of the outcome. Another who has to take responsibility for the unnecessary closure of the club. He stopped investing in the stadium towards the end of his time as well as running teams on the cheap. A shame as he put good teams together and created a nice little venue round 2004- 2008 I wouldn't have thought noise or local residents would be the main problem. The nearest houses are across the River Lea and speedway was still running when they were built so would have been aware of the stadium. The Rye House Group aren't in a good position with a demolition notice against them and planning denied for the area where the track was. They have spunked a lot of money for little return and are likely to have to rip out a lot of the building work out if they don't win their appeal. They must be in breach of their lease with the Lee Valley Park Authority as well. The arrogance and spite from them has bitten them in the backside.1 point

On the subject of Aussies, there seems to be no shortage of them wanting to come to the UK to race and develop their skills. I would like to think that a lot of this is down to the likes of Jason Doyle (although there may be others) who has always stated that mastering the more technical British tracks is essential for riders at the very top level to have in their skill set. Unlike many Eastern European riders, Aussies are not quitters and will only move on from their team if asked to do so.1 point

I am 99% sure the “ pungent odour “, ( if I can express it that way) came from the Boake-Roberts Abrac Chemical works in Carpenters Road . We used to cycle up from Stratford along Carpenters Road to the Stadium, getting lungfuls of the vile pong as we urged our bikes up the incline. My goodness it was vile, and it was exactly the same smell , albeit in milder form drifting across the stadium when the wind was in a certain direction. Apparently it was well known in the area ( the smell that is ) when my dad was a boy growing up in Bow. As for the Bovril connection, I had an uncle and aunt living in Hackney and I understood the factory manufactured Branston Pickle ( Branston and Bovril were the same company so may have both been made both there) . Anyway the place did pen-and -ink quite a bit but not as bad as Abracs in Carpenters Road. Uncle Fred and Auntie Flo were always coming out with tales about dead mice and things being found in the pickles so with that inside knowledge I’ve always avoided the stuff ! Them was the days in the East End. A great place to grow up in those, days. Wouldn’t change it for the world but wouldn’t want to live there now !1 point

As a Cowley regular for thirty plus years the track record for many years was held by Peter Craven who clocked a time of 63 seconds in 1963. Nobody got near that time for ten years and it wasn't until the track was shortened that a new record was set (George Hunter if I recall?) in 1973. Phil Crump in 1974/75 set a record of 63.2 (?) although the average times were somewhat slower until Dave Perks registered a sub 63 time during his time as "Cheetah". It did emphasise what a special talent Peter Craven was to have held the record for so long...if I remember it was during a Golden Helmet encounter with the great Ove Fundin where all three races registered 63 plus times?1 point

If the ticket prices weren’t enough then the car parking is the straw that broke the camels back, think it’s time we got rid of discovery, with their half arsed approach to the sport, awful camera work and their totally out of touch with reality approach to pricing, we need and deserve better1 point
