Belle Vue Speedway Trust Announcement. Following the events of Monday evening, the Trust has been in discussion with the Speedway Riders Benevolent Fund and has agreed to provide Tate's mother with the air fare to travel to the UK, from Australia, to be with her son. The Trust will also contribute to any additional welfare that is required during her stay, over and above that which the SRBF will provide. Whilst it is too early to be precise, the Trust intends to provide further assistance to Tate during his period of rehabilitation, be it in the UK, or back in Australia. All this would not be possible without the tremendous support we receive week in week out from the Supporters of Belle Vue and the unfailing efforts of David Burroughs and his team from the BVSSC. A huge thank you to you all. Philip Gunning Chair of Trustees. The trust money comes from fans doing 50/50 draws, interval ball game etc.7 points

Watching Scunthorpe match and got to say looks like a rubbishhole. Shocking track and piss poor preparation.3 points

How Starke managed a 4th ride whilst young Ace is riding well is baffling. Obviously our manager must know what he is doing.3 points

I don't think it's anything to do with the football, could easily change start time there is something else the cheats aren't telling the fans I'm trying to find out. The truth will surface eventually.3 points

Amazing, like BBC putting the Euros final on the red button and having a re-run of Mrs Browns Boys on instead.3 points

Great news from Tobias after his crash on Wednesday. X-Rays have proved no breaks so he will be ok for Poole's next meetings.3 points

Houses have been built around the track perimeter and certainly within earshot of the speedway for decades including a lot of properties costing well over £500,000. Whether many people buying property there are happy with the speedway is debatable but nevertheless they still move within the vicinity of the track so clearly it doesn’t have that much of a deterrent.3 points

There's 100% something going on with Laguta. It will be interesting to see if anything comes out.2 points

Agree about James he is very good at Glasgow but away he has generally been poor. Starke can go anytime he wants and Ace hasn’t progressed as much as we thought he would but should still stick with him.2 points

Yet again a ref leaves it dangerously late to stop a race before putting all back in the rerun! Do these refs get assessed at all?2 points

So I had a wander down to the track today to see the damage from the torrential rain we've been having. As you can see, the track is good enough for a swim but that's about it. So you plymouth fans can settle yourselves down. P.s. I definitely didn't google "flooded speedway track to shut up those muppets from Plymouth".2 points

TBF in real time I would have excluded Tungate but watching the extensive replays in the bar Scott did try to drop it on Tungate when he had the outside line to use. You could see from his left arm position how hard he pulled it across Tungate. There was no racing room left so contact was always going to be the outcome. I don’t especially rate last night’s referee most of the time but i genuinely feel she made the right decision.2 points

Well said total common sense, don’t bs everybody with what they have said, I think say it’s because of the football the losses would be to big and then everybody would move on but the reasons given are making Workington look daft.Weather apps are showing no rain in Workington till Sunday and that’s only a 50 percent chance have a word bspa.2 points

It would have been far simpler on Tuesday after England won to have put out a simple message. Workington Speedway are mindful in these difficult economic times for our Sport that to directly compete with England v Switzerland in the European Football Championships would be financial suicide. We will therefore seek to rearrange the Fixture for a more economically beneficial date, and apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.2 points

The irony of this coming from somebody who sticks their oar in left, right and centre on this forum won't be lost on anybody I'm sure.2 points

Agreed - I have no idea how Christina Turnbull could have missed Boughen’s roller in heat 8 but bearing in mind her crazy decision to exclude Scott in heat 15 it probably wasn’t that surprising as she clearly wasn’t having a good night!2 points

Looks like this is right. I think they previously have put the earlier rounds on Discovery+ and shown the final on Eurosport but not this time. Listings show that Eurosport 1 have highlights of show jumping and Tour de France, Eurosport 2 highlights of World Superbikes and live Climbing World Cup.2 points

I was watching the live stream which was excellent. I learned how a clutch works and how to change the jetting in a carburettor which I found fascinating rather than hear they are making changes. Heat 15 was run and it looked likely before the running that it would go to a superheat. Yet the choice of Oxford riders for the superheat seemed to be a surprise to the riders chosen as the were not ready or prepared. Plus the actual top scorer wasn’t involved in heat 15 or the superheat!! excellent result for the witches and a incredible performance by Emil.2 points

The situation regarding insurance for speedway in Finland is getting beyond a joke now. The sport was already struggling and the insurance issue could potentially finish off the sport. The sums quoted are astronomical per bike. You can practice, but cannot take part in a competitive meeting without insurance. Sadly there will probably be no speedway meetings in Finland at all this year, as the planned pairs series has also been cancelled.2 points

Really think we need a fixtures secretary role to ensure reserved dates are co-ordinated, something that hasn't happened in the past , and to tell clubs when to run restaged meetings .2 points

Yep, agreed. Not only that, but then to put out two completely different riders in the super heat. Plus leaving Charles Wright out of both heats. Utterly bizarre. Peter Shroeck is fast becoming one of the worst managers in the league.2 points

Lindgren is clearly not interested. Laguta would have been a much better signing.2 points

Whatever individual track loyalties are, I cannot believe that any true speedway fans on here are not 100% supportive of what the Panthers Consortium are trying so hard to achieve!2 points

something is very off about laguta, he isn’t trying, his body language on the bike is way off1 point

If it stops you from talking can only be a win-win Even though you know full well @Bagpuss wasn't even talking about me, he quoted a Worky fan lol. Doesn't seem to stop your obsession though! I will still post when and where I want to, so if you are trying to make me stop I would give up if I were you as it is a waste of time1 point

Having checked forecasts and being told on here weather is ok obviously Workington are not at full strength I know they can get an adequate guest for tate so why are they scared of racing against Plymouth. You locals up there if you're honest know the weather is ok so what is going on?1 point

What exactly are his injuries? It was a nothing fall... cut him and he bleeds zloty's, and Monster Energy of course. Maybe he's on paternity leave1 point

Good on him. Many knew he wouldn’t blame Rew. AceBellend is an unfortunate exception but as soon as it happened I think we all pretty much knew it would be him coming on here and knew exactly which direction he would be sending it1 point

Wishing you a speedy and full recovery young man...I can only imagine you are going through the ringer right now, but try and stay positive.1 point

I have said many times... Literally tens of millions of pounds will be, and have been, spent in the top two divisions in particular, on riders who clearly haven't grown the sport in the past two decades by their presence... Yet, a pittance on marketing, which may have delivered better results... And also there has been a complete reluctance to "try something new" when "same old, same old" clearly wasn't (and still isn't) working... The (previous) NDL seemed to be the most successful and best ran league by a considerable distance... Maybe someone should reflect on why that was....1 point
