No it was a FIM Grasstrack meeting and was rearranged due to poor weather in France on Saturday. In fact it was the other way around if he had chose to return and ride for Leicester he would have got banned as he had signed into a FIM meeting5 points

Anybody saying a speedway meeting is just 15 minutes of entertainment is simply trolling or just simple.4 points

You know full well why people don't bother with live tv meetings, there are posts in this thread to that effect, the delays are mindnumbing. You support a team with no real local sporting competition, it's either speedway or powerboat racing, that's why your crowds hold up. I just don't understand why you constantly bring up the same rubbish about crowd numbers yet virtually ignore the fact that we've just seen such a brilliant meeting on the best track in Britain.3 points

Some decent races tonight, it has to be in the interest of speedway to find a way to get the crowd in for free on television meetings, it’s been a good sporting watch tonight but the crowd is embarrassing and unfortunately visual is everything3 points

Both Tate and Anti are strong at home, to put them together at 3 and 4 would upset the balance of the current top 5 in my opinion. Where we could really do with some improvement is at reserve because if Claus or any of the other top 5 has a bad day then we could well be in trouble. The 7 points from excellent guest Jake Mulford helped disguise that very scenario on Saturday.3 points

The Ben Fund collection from last night has raised the incredible sum of £2168.3 points

A much improved away performance from the Lions but that wouldn't have been difficult after the pathetic display at Ippo. Can't help but think that r/r scoring only 4 flattered us a bit. Usual suspects not performing but on the plus side Fricke riding like a number 1 at last. Some great speedway racing tonight2 points

Well done current witch Adam Ellis and witches asset Rohan tungate scoring 24+2 between them. So that Makes the score Birmingham 43 Ipswich 24 and kings lynn 23 surely ??2 points

But even then as good as a TV league match is to watch on the TV, it's deathly dull when you're actually in attendance with the extended delays while the TV people are doing their Tv things. Until this is addressed, along with the cost, Tv meetings will never attract any sort of crowd unless it's a play off2 points

I have an amazing idea they can use, it’s called television camera. It’s on a fixed point with an experienced operator pointing it at the action.2 points

If you’re planning your home meetings based on using a tac sub in heats 12 and 14, then you may aswell not bother at all.2 points

I guess Brum are banking on Kvech being a flash in the pan at the AFA vs. Oxford last week. I don't understand the line-up at all otherwise because surely you'd want Brennan going out in the latter heats, Being done by Heat 10 has a negative impact on Heat 15 as well. How many times do you see the No.2 at clubs get chucked into Heat 15 only to finish last due to the track changing during the interval as well as Heats 11, 12, 13 & 14.2 points

Hardly a novelty meeting ! The FIM for 2 days in Teterow held a Women’s academy with tuition from Greg Hancock. Ok there was only 11 riders of the required standard to take part in the Gold Trophy but iis it’s 1st year, so hopefully 16 riders will take part in 2025.2 points

Well that would appear to tip the balance in the Ace’s favour then! Honestly, who gives a stuff, I expect the Aces to comfortably rack up 55 points regardless.2 points

Berwick always do the Ben fund collection when Glasgow are in town, fair play to them for doing so as they always get a good donation2 points

I know he was on the list, that doesn’t change what I’ve said. Why were Ipswich told he was ineligible to guest for their missing rising star, but Leicester haven’t? That list might just not have been updated. Edwards being named in the 1-6 means he’s no longer a rising star. Gilkes is the Sheffield rising star, you don’t run with two rising stars. Exactly the same happened a few years ago when Ipswich signed Anders Rowe who was on the rising star list, as their senior reserve at number 6. The same “rule” was applied then. Could be one of three things. Ipswich were given duff information and didn’t use Edwards on the back of it despite being free to do so. Leicester could have made a mistake and will have to do what Ipswich did and make a late swap. Or thirdly, they’re all just letting it go because nobody can really be @rsed with it all. My money’s on number three.2 points

Where do you get this 120minutes of entertainment from? It's 15 races@ roughly a minute a race.....????2 points

I’d like to suggest Vissing’s home scores haven’t really hurt Workington, but his away scores have been valuable - 11 at Plymouth was a great contribution to a tight road win.2 points

I respectfully suggest we get off his back and get behind him. I don't know whether you have noticed but there are not that many riders out there who we could replace him with.2 points

Bloody Poole fans are like rats on this forum always infiltrating threads with their garbage …. Poole a place with nothing to do… v Manchester lol of course it’s easier to attract bigger crowds down there even though it’s accepted the track is garbage ….. As for the meeting thought it was a great watch on a proper track but Leicester need changes badly1 point

It makes sense to keep your best 2 riders in different heats other than heat 15.1 point

Agree, I'm just hesitant to take the short 4/5 in case the track prep is a gate and go dust bowl due to the hot weather. I watched Brum struggle on BSN at Home to Ipswich in the KOC recently when the track was poor due to the hot weather. I did want to back Ellis tonight as he's a gater who knows Perry Barr well but no markets are being offered on him1 point

I think you are getting yourself in a twist here. Why does she have to be near the same standard as Championship middle order riders, when she was employed at reserve ? Aren't there a good few riders that have been in teams for years that aren't going to be middle order riders, or at least not in the first of second season ? Some struggle a bit at first. I don't even think Celina has struggled too much before she started picking up points.1 point

Not even one of those occasions where the rules are ambiguous. The rule is very clear: SR11.4 "If riding at #7 a guest from the Rising Star list must be used, their MA must be lower or equivalent to the missing rider. The Rising Star guest must not be in a current Premiership 1-7."1 point

Fans aren't in the pits, they are outside looking in over a metal barrier. Gives a really good view of the home riders.1 point

Leicester have said in their preview they can use Edwards as he isn't a rising star for Sheffield 'In his place the Lions have booked Jason Edwards who is available on the Rising Star list as he does not race in that position for Sheffield.'1 point

The largest demographic by a country mile is 50+, white, male, with the vast majority of them paying for themselves as they attend alone or, with a mate who also pays for themselves.. Which suggests a family ticket isn't such great value... Where the sport seriously shoots itself in the foot is its pricing structure... It is clear, as history shows, you are not going to significantly increase your attendance's by attracting new followers, therefore, make it cheaper and get those who do attend to attend more regularly... With the play offs, many fans now give certain meetings a miss when their team has clearly qualified, and, as we clearly see, TV meetings can decimate the attendance... Most top flight clubs seem to have around 2500 to 3000 "followers" who attend in varying degrees of regularity, with BH's and Play Offs, bringing many "out of the woodwork".. Get the pricing structure to attract around 2000 of then a night has to be the aim...1 point

A good thing about speedway is that men and women compete equally so whether or not someone is transgender is irrelevant. Or at least it should be! So, presumably, there would be no issue with a transgender woman competing in this as they are still equal competitors.1 point

Celina Liebmann winning this was probably even more of a sure thing than Bartosz winning the Grand Prix series. Maybe the apathy was because men and women compete together in speedway, so having a competition for women only makes it quite a low level competition and little more than a novelty. I think there must be a lot more enjoyment in watching Celina trying to take points off men in the Championship than watching her beat women who (presumably) are nowhere close to her level.1 point

Not if Osbourne offered to fund the building development in partnership with a property company eg Taylor Wimpey or similar?! The Council cant afford to fund new buildings themselves. Having said that, if/when the time comes there will be a helluva fan protest.........!1 point
