  1. Eh? He was a SPEEDWAY rider. Committed s crime and was released on license. Was back riding SPEEDWAY at Scunthorpe in amateur meetings. How is that not relevant to a SPEEDWAY discussion?

  2. Road closures for what ? Crowd will be no more than the British final for the final and I expect crowd in the semi finals to be on par with a national league meeting, will the extra stand be needed? Speedway in general needs a reality check, it’s down in the basement of it’s popularity and it needs to encourage people to go and you won’t do that by charging what is huge money for a lot of people, I am I suppose a target audience, I love my sport, I have been to belle vue a couple of times this season despite living 80miles away but I can’t justify £300 for me the Mrs and the lad for one meeting not including diesel, food, don’t try to justify it by saying well the price of this and that is more etc . over priced and IS putting off people going

  3. It should stop the minute he rides in Poland, which he will & not last for 28 days.

  4. It is totally relevant He was looking to return to the sport, putting out PR that he had learnt his lesson and deserved a second chance Whether he is at liberty to take up a team spot is a key factor in the story

  5. I'm sure Chris would love to sign Scott but we all know why he can't ,it is great that he is enjoying significant successs in the Indian summer to his career long may it continue .

  6. I hear discovery have launched a new competition for the speedway of nations that you can participate in from your home infront of your tv, it’s called spot the freeloader in the pits, I have been playing this game for a few years now, you always get the usual suspects but the SON promises to be something special as nobody can afford to pay to get in at those prices

  7. I think the camera man has a bum fetish ….changing the theme music to “swing low” perhaps BSN stands for bollocks streaming network lol

  9. It should say “if Mr Kurtz rides in any polish meetings or any other meetings abroad in the next 28 days then the facility will end there and then”… this statement is an absolute joke!!

  10. Good to see the SCB confirm Brady’s injury and that the paperwork is in order. Now can you stop all this silliness BSF and wish him a speedy recovery.

  11. Back in April Oxford would've had over 6 points to replace Atkins, but either weren't ruthless enough / or very loyal & kept Atkins. You can be sure a team like Poole would've made a change, probably one of the reasons they always finish near the top.

  12. For me it’s a no brainier and we need to be ruthless. Let’s be honest Leon has never rode our track well and continues to not ride it well even as a home rider , it’s just one of those matches that aren’t suited. Signing Riss would strengthen us significantly home and away.

  13. Riss for Leon is a straight swap with 0.74 left over and not counting any 2.5% Brit discount.

  14. Makes sense if I remember paying around £45 for two for both nights..... At the time I remember thinking what "great value" it was considering I paid not much less than that to watch the Aces, and now had the chance to see the Worlds best in action for just a few quid more.. My lad paid £55 for a standing ticket for me as a Father's Day present which I am obviously grateful for, but personally think it is an outrageous sum for such a minority sport...

  15. There's an old sign dumped in the maintenance yard behind the south stand that I've noticed... I think it said £23 Was this the last year that IMG had the rights?

  16. Don't think you've read that quite right, Sedgmen guests for Palm Toft and Ablitt is back from injury.

  17. That it clashes with Oxford v Workington If it really was the NDLRC Luke Killeen would be in it and the Cheetahs using a guest. But it isn't and Killeen is riding for Oxford, not in some jumped up open junior meeting.

  18. That's some skill, must have been trained up in that last time he was in prison?!? They say men can't multi-task

  19. Updates said that Scott had a bike issue in heat one - he didn't, he was squeezed on the inside of turn one and went onto the centre green to avoid hitting Thompson. Not a re-run though because he went for that line which then wasn't there!

  20. It's a good few years ago now, but I used to go quite often too (could be there in under a hour straight from work) when you could stand on the back straight. Saw some brilliant racing. And, when the Aces were visiting way way back when, Owlerton was never better than Wyer & Wilson v PC & Mort imho.

  29. They didn't have the big temporary stand in 2021, if the prices this year are to pay for that it seems an almost suicidal commercial decision.

  30. I went to Grudziadz earlier this season and it was a sell out so I wouldn't buy on the day.

  31. I wouldn’t risk either- check their websites as tickets go on sale normally around 14 days prior to meetings. edit just checked both teams- tickets not on sale yet but i expect them to start selling next week.

  34. Looking at the stats on the Speedway GB website, Atkins has a 1.14 home average & 0.00 away average. Roynon can hardly do any worse.

  35. Attacking leicesters track is something I've heard alot from top riders coming to the den. Emil and Doyle love Leicesters track because they are brave with it.

  37. I don’t know exactly why but I’m told it was something to do with fighting when in a bender. But that’s only hearsay. I assume he will have to do the rest of his term so another 3/4 years.

  38. If what has been reported in Speedway Star is true then the BSPL needs to get their act together and advertise the meeting correctly. As I said above the sport appears to be run by clowns and sadly they are not at all funny.
    1 point
  39. Well done the Witches. Remarkable really given that Jason is not on the scene but it shows what can be done with a balanced group of riders. The league needs every team and Leicester seem to have one or two who are not at the races but stick with it, the sport would be poorer if another team bit the dust. The UK is never going to match/compete with Poland and it is frustrating that the sport cannot drive its own destiny and instead hangs off the coat tails of Poland thinking that because one or two who ride in Poland are now over here means the sport is on the up. That is not the case and crowd levels tell a different story. Those in charge need to start thinking outside the box to reinvigorate the sport in this country and that includes promoting, not just managing teams.

  40. That's the only positive thing about it.

  41. According to the BSPL website Poole are staging the first round of the series on the same date as Poole are advertising a meeting as the National League Riders Championship. It appears that the BSPL need to sort out exactly what is being run at Poole on 26th June and then make sure ALL adverts show the correct details. This situation just shows what a set of clowns are running the sport, can you imagine other professional sports allowing a club to advertise an event as one thing while the overall organisation advertised it as something else. Personally I would love to attend this meeting, whatever the truth about what is being staged. Sadly the last train back to London now leaves around 9pm whereas before COVID it was just after 10pm. I can't afford a hotel and travelling back the following day adds nearly 70% to the cost of the rail tickets.

  49. It’s really getting beyond a joke when reserves can’t make GB. meetings.Absolutely nothing against the riders it’s the way Speedway’s run in GB.Hardly any fixtures yet still filled with guests and they wonder about negative comments about the sport in GB.
