Must av more money than sense to pay for overpriced coffee from a Costa, but as you support Poole you don't have much sense either4 points

Fair enough SS, but I think you’ll be in a minority here. The Ipswich fans haven’t seen their side lift the big one since the all conquering side of 1998. They’ve been starved of success for far too long. I think most fans would prefer to wait for the best possible rider that gives them the best chance of winning the title, than going for an inferior rider now. If that means waiting until just before the cut off for signings so be it. I know going with guests is frustrating, but personally patience is the order of the day here for me.3 points

Looking at the stats between last season and this so far, over all meeting (League and Cup) 2023: 10.73 2024: 8.74 So you’re currently looking at a two point drop off from last year which is significant. It’s not as if he’s suddenly “downed tools” over here and going through the motions whilst flying elsewhere, because his average in Poland has dropped off a cliff this year also so he’s definitely having issues by his high standards. It’s ironic that last year our strength was the most potent top end in the league whilst our bottom end was the weak link, this year it’s flip flopped! Emil struggling and Doyle/King/Ellis out injured, but it’s been the big improvement from Rew and Thompson in particular that has carried us through meetings! If we had Doyle and a firing Emil then I agree it wouldn’t even be a contest. Edit: other than his spell on the sidelines, Ellis has also been a big factor. Comfortably riding above his average which to be honest, we all expected him to do. Clearly a far better rider than he showed last year for Sheffield.3 points

Not quite, the Polish clubs have to agree start permission for their rider and withdraw it when it suits so they simply recall their rider. They did the same with Laguta last year on a match by match basis by issuing sick/injury notes through their track doctor. The game was up when they told KL by telephone that he'd had an injury but didn't tell their Doctor so he put a note out saying he had food poisoning! Disgraceful behaviour but the conspiracy theorists blamed Chapman when in fact he was the victim.2 points

Take it nobody was interested in this one with the meeting already finished.2 points

Some of you may already know I had a crash in Poland yesterday where I couldn't do anything about it I had a lot of pain in my back and I still have pain when breathing. After a handful of tests and scans everything has come back looking normal A week off resting and I will be back soon. Thanks everyone for your messages2 points

Way unfair on Jordon. He's average might be low at present, but he's on the pace and now picking up useful points.2 points

What Poland are doing is illegal in European law - you cannot stop someone earning a living. The reason they get away with it is that no one stands up to them because that is where the money is. The Poles are sort of suggesting that because their riders were injured in the UK then it is not safe for their riders to ride here. As we all know that is b*llocks from a few high profile examples: Lee Richardson, Darcy Ward, Tomasz Gollob etc. It would be good if someone had the ability to challenge the Poles on their employment practices!2 points

Starke was cheap and that's what you get back, and hume like has been already mentioned was very disappointing - been decent at home but very poor on the road. At this stage of the season it's looking like we'll struggle from now till the end of the season especially without rory .2 points

All Points above I get and to an extent I agree with. But on the point where we are in the Final of the Cup and we should get Top 4, which means we should be in Play Offs come September is saying we can afford to lose a few meetings etc and still be safe whilst using Guests and R/R. I disagree with this as its ok to start with, and I think we have been very lucky with Guests since all these injuries started, but losing a few meetings coz we are safe will start to effect riders confidence in the long run, so why accept its ok to just lose a few, and what about the supporters that travel everywhere to keep watching Guests and those that travel and think it's ok tonight we can afford to lose this. I do understand the right person has to come in, and we don't want anybody in the management doesn't trust,of course I get that, you don't want no bad egg coming in at this stage, but I certainly wouldn't want to wait to say August to get the right man in (Lambert). Yes I know for a Fact they are trying their hardest, and I for one trust the process, but I don't want to go watch us in away meetings with the attitude we can afford to lose this one, you can't win every meeting either, but I'd rather watch us lose with a team that knows each other come September than a team that has gone through the motions. I also must add Jason Doyle is irreplaceable,so I understand the extent of the task getting the right rider in, but for me personally who goes Home and Away I would hope a new Number 1 is in sooner rather than later. I don't think the attitude of being in a good position warrants using Guests and R/R for the next few meetings coz we can afford to lose a few. This Sport hinges on momentum and Rider Confidence, and a few defeats coz it's ok, would effect confidence in our younger riders in JJ,Rew and Dan Thompson, who have all waded in with vital points this season, why would we want to risk them losing any confidence. I will be at Oxford tomorrow night(Weather Permitting)cheering the boys on,but I agree with an original post, this looks like a meeting that could finally catch up with us. Hope to see a few Witches fans tomorrow night, as my previous visit to Oxford this season was a brilliant night, not just coz of the result, but again this Speedway family that never let's us down(apart from the Sheffield bend army)the Oxford supporters were excellent company.2 points

They’re trying but it’s proving difficult. Just when they think they’re making progress and a deal looks done, something crops up and it collapses. So many stars need to align before a deal gets completed, especially for the top end fellas. Although it’s nice to finish top and I’m confident we would have but for the issues we’ve faced, but it isn’t vital. The cup final is in the bag, and the final isn’t until September, neither are the play offs. Personally I think it’s wise to muddle through with guests and rider replacement until a quality option further down the line becomes available, than to make a signing now that might not be as good just to get a full 1-7 out. The pots aren’t handed out until September.2 points

Would you rather Louis pulled his finger out and rushed to get a number 1 or would you rather he took his time and got someone who would be a genuine replacement for Doyle? You're top of the league and going to make the playoffs, one or two losses at this stage of the season isn't really going matter in the greater scheme of things? Give Louis a chance and maybe he'll do the right business again - he hasn't really let you down over the last couple of years.2 points

And if you ever take that away... You end up with no big crowds, which means no big TV contracts, which means no big sponsors..2 points

Rider Replacement and Blödorn for Doyle and King? How on earth are they still 4 points clear at the top of the table? It must catch up with them sooner or later surely! If Emil was on it like last year it would have been the most one sided league since their all star team of 98.2 points

More Memorable Hackney heroes: The late Vic Harding was never going to be world champion, but in many ways he was a typical Hackney recruit - a wholehearted, gutsy little rider with a huge heart, who the fans took to for his cheerfulness and determination. He came in at reserve after three years at Weymouth and soon afterwards got 8 from 3 starts against Swindon, including a win over top Swede Jan Andersson - who he then beat in the Rider of the Night final! Seeing him crash right in front of us, in his fifth outing as he raced for a point that would have seen us pull back a 16 point deficit to win a meaningless 4TT match, was my worst moment in 50 odd years of spectating. The hush that suddenly descended on Waterden Road said it all. And then of course, Barry Thomas. Mr Hackney for so many, and so often worth the price of admission alone for his dashes from the back. He never took it too seriously, and never seemed to have the most reliable of machinery, and in some ways summed up what Hackney was about - we might not win too many trophies but we had plenty of fun racing. His beating the great Ivan Mauger on the final bend when the World Champion was team riding his partner toward the league title is still one of the most memorable races I have seen in over 50 years. Thommo of course was the link between the Hawks and the Kestrels. A new Kestrel was the long blonde haired Andy Galvin - one of Thommo’s Iwade lads. A legend, fast and not to be messed with! Entered Hackney folk lore when the story goes that, told we needed a 5-0 in the last heat to win the meeting, he obliged by knocking off both his opponents! Remembered for team-riding his rookie partner Chris Louis to many a 5-1 in 1988. Mark Loram went from Hackney mascot to World Champion, with an all too brief period at Waterden Road. Right from day one, the lad was so exciting, a natural. After starting out as a 16 year old in Hackney’s less than successful sojourn in the top flight in 1987, he developed into a top National League performer as the Kestrels swept all before them to win the National League. After Mark and Moggo sadly departed as the promoters took on Ipswich, we signed Steve Schofield. When the pocket marvel arrived from Poole, he admitted Waterden Road wasn’t one of his favourite tracks. Within weeks he was well nigh unbeatable around it, ending his first campaign with eight successive home full maximums. A superb little racer, a delight to watch as, when he did miss the gate, the opposition didn’t know whether he would dive up their inside or roar around the outside. Hackney may not have won much silverware, but they certainly had some entertainers.2 points

Until British speedway is stronger in every department than Poland we have no chance of clubs being able to push back any blocks the polish put on riders. Unfortunately we are so far behind them that it’s not viable to start the fight.1 point

His form in the last few weeks has been good - he struggled early on - he is the 2nd top BP scorer and 2 recent heat wins occured in the KO cup so not reflected in that 2.84 (with no BP average) - He and Rew are doing fine for now at reserve.1 point

Standing up to Poland would be telling their riders to turn up at Lynn or else. Or refusing to sign any Extraliga (1 or 2) riders. Calling off a match because you don't have a full team is NOT "standing up to Poland". Poland won't care if Lynn raced understrength or postponed the match as long as they get their riders.1 point

There's no point in trying to reason with you when you clearly lack the basic intelligence to know the difference between Oxford's and Ipswich's situations. Hint - try looking at the league table.1 point

Surely there is no rush or need to replace Doyle at the Moment..Ippo have already got a top 4 finish..at thats all they need to do..They can Replace Doyle nearer the time of the play offs when better options become available . Winning or losing to Oxford away at the moment is really of little importance .plus he will be saving money.1 point

No ....... you don't speak FACTS .......... just your opinion. KL own their track for starters .......... so I don't suppose they are as "badly run" as you IMAGINE!! As for it not being your job that's just another get out for someone with a big mouth and shallow pockets!1 point

The last two videos of races in Poland I have seen on here the crowd looked very small. Is the bubble starting to burst which means that Polish promoters don't want to upset their remaining supporters? This is only based on two random videos which may have had the worst crowds of the season but it does raise suspicions.1 point

Oh what joy!!??!! 30% more expensive and having to race on Mons/Thurs?? No chance - unless there are changes eg if it ever becomes just one league then clubs will insist on racing on their chosen race day!!1 point

Another horrendous result for the Bandits in a meeting which was probably our last opportunity to get pts on the board this season Who would pick Paul Starke as a guest once, never mind twice? Awful rider. No riders available to improve the main body which is a shame as Schlein won’t ride again this season and Etheridge and Hume are both very poor riders. As for Freddy Hodder, surely it’s time to give Mason Watson or a local lad a go, after all they can’t possibly score any worse.1 point

Don't think you'll wind up too many on this thread as in 2018 Poole were too busy winning the harder league whilst being bottom for half the season1 point

Talking of Facebook's strange quirks. I have just been informed by them that a comment on a site I administer has been take down because it goes against community standards. This is the post in question: "We left in 1982, it was a great place to grow up and have fantastic memories of being there with my mum and dad Rose & Lou." This was on a post about Jaywick. As you can see this undoubtedly breaks all sorts of rules, though I have to admit I am not quite sure which ones at the moment. In addition, the comment was posted in February this year, so it has taken them four months to get round to removing it. Who knows what damage and mental anguish could have been caused to members of the page I administer by this scurrilous comment before they took it down?1 point

Poole are quite clearly the hot favourites to win the league they have built up a strong team as always and will no doubt be top What I don’t like is time and time again they bin off a Brit for no real reason …. Poole are winning matches and often comfortably… if Max is only scoring 1 or 2 but you winning then why move him on?? Is this Foord going to bang in match changing scores like 6 or 7 or will it just be 3 and 4 which in all fairness you are better off giving young Max the opportunity …. He had a horror crash last season and he needs time to come back from that and the fact he is racing at a higher level …… if Poole are simply going to sack him this early in the season then they shouldn’t have signed him at all .. did they expect him to come back and get 6 or 7 every week…. Sorry I think it’s poor1 point

When the ban is served, he will have to pay the fine before he can resume racing, Or have it paid for him by a promoter who is desperate to have him riding...........1 point

When you purchase a subscription or match pass.....not sure if a yearly subscription is now the cheapest option as you've missed several meetings already....but you register your email address and password When you locate BSN on your TV you will have to sign in using the same email address and password You can go to the BSN site on your tv now, to ensure it works, just you cant watch anything till you signed in etc1 point
