  1. I said this before, as much as Osbourne is what he is he isn’t breaking the law and all his decisions are business decisions, if speedway was a cash cow he would be working in our favour, the council will do whatever the cash dictates,, council support for a track closed or otherwise means nothing but on the other foot speedway needs the council to run, it all boils down to money unfortunately and it rarely falls in speedways favour, even in oxford’s case if it wasn’t for the greyhound guy buying the rights to the stadium would speedway even be back ? Unfortunately moral people don’t run the world

  2. Those Brummies fans who voted for Brexit can be proud of themselves. Still they've got their borders back, immigration is under control and that £350m a week is pouring into the NHS instead of into Brussels per their red Battle Bus, isn't it?

  3. What a ride by Artem laguta in Heat 15! Laguta beat Zmarzlik by a mile, and on Bartek's home track ! What a shame he and Emil are still not allowed to ride in the SGP.

  4. The one point that everyone seems to be missing with the bin Starke, bin Worral, bin flint is who do you bring in? I think without consulting my notepad we have 1.4 ish under the team building average to spare. If you get rid of Starke you have 4.7 to play with, that means you can only bring in a rider who hasn't set foot in any professional league (including polish under 21's) to get an assessed 4 points average. There are no British riders that aren't currently riding with an average that fits. Replacing Ace would result in the exact same scenario. Any premier League rider will hit us with a 1.5x increase on his average, with the majority riding in Poland it'll be difficult to get one that can ride on a Friday night? Could they coax Ben Basso back since Lodz and kings Lynn aren't really going anywhere? The reality is there isn't a great deal of choice.

  5. Is that the same rider who I have just watched beat Emil and Robert in heats 13 and 15 today racing at reserve for Birmingham tomorrow?

  6. Think you will find it was kept out maintaining the track longer as the medics were dealing with Dan Thompson. They done a good job with the track today IMO.No rider had any bother riding it which is something given their inexperience.Good Meeting IMO.

  7. Yet here we are 22 heats later and more passing than you'll see in a full season at Armadale.

  8. With all due respect Sonny Springer and Vinnie Foord have nowhere near the Youth pedigree of Max. Springer is too young anyway, Foord is very fast but still very wild. They are more for 2026 at earliest I'd say. Let's not forget the terrible crash that Max had last Autumn. He deserves patience and respect.

  9. James is not the problem. This weekend's results were not typical of his contribution.

  10. Our season is going nowhere which is disappointing after last year's success , we sorely miss the excitement and scoring power of Basso, he was worth entrance money alone. Dropping the points limit so dramatically has affected us more than most as had to lose a few, not bringing back Claus was a major faux pax, I think Tom was always going to leave. We only have 1 exciting racer in the team in Chris Harris and he can't do it all, as for changes, where would they come from as not a lot out there. The added 1.5 increase from anyone in the prem coming in does hinder progress for some of the youngsters like Anders Rowe who is not a 7 plus championship rider but is now saddled with that average. The powers that be have destroyed the championship to benefit the premiership. Championship has been the better league for so long, as for Glasgow ,we should have gone up and kept most of last year's team but alas it was not to be, I have supported the tigers when we were always in bottom 3 of the league so this year's results are not new to me , however it is frustrating when all but 2 riders have increased their average , which are James Pearson and Ace Pijper since previous green sheets. If changes are going to be made then so be it, if not lets support the team and start planning for next season, reckon we must be favourite for the wooden spoon which will please many as they think we flash the cash, which if you ask any of the riders they certainly don't.

  11. But who would you replace him with? There’s a good group of young lads but none are at Tai’s level. And none of the “older” guys like King, Wright or Ellis are better. IMO

  12. You can't beat fans who can't be bothered to back the British youngsters. He's in the position he is in the team due to the increase/reduction in the various leagues in an attempt to move riders up a level. TBH Dan Gilkes is a talented boy, but probably needs more meetings.

  13. Dan doesn't have that "killer instinct"... Not going to be successful when Bartek, Holder, Lindgren, Doyle, Lambert etc, all have that win at all costs mentality..

  15. He phoned the referee complaining about the 2 minute disqualification. He didn't know the new rule with the clock and needing to be ready to race at the end of the 2 minutes. Referee had to tell him the new rule!

  19. The Edinburgh situation wasn’t planning related. The ‘brochures etc’ was a campaign to drum up support within the community and local businesses and encouraging locals to canvas their Councillors to support it. At no time did the Edinburgh management consider it a done deal. They went to great lengths to produce a viable presentation for the Council. There was a £400,000 offer on the table from a business man and the community project from the Monarchs. The local council were initially supportive, but ultimately they decided to take the money. A lot of people bust their asses trying to make this happen and to have it end the way it did was a massive disappointment. To dismiss those efforts as ‘shouting off’ and ‘hadn’t even got planning permission’ is a cheap, uninformed shot.

  22. Sadly it is really showing. Bomber and Wright went backwards when trying to chase? On a different subject I see Erik Ross scoring rather well again. Really good to see him back to his best. Would love him at Redcar to give Wright a hand at the top end? I can dream....

  28. Tolley/Lindgren I will never ever understand why folk go shouting their mouth off that something is going to happen before it's a done deal! A massive wasp always comes back to bite u on the a*se and leaves ur cheeks very red faced! Then u go on hands & knees begging for forgiveness. Very bad customer service! Edinburgh comes to mind when they went shouting off with brochures etc about their new venture when they hadn't even got planning permission. When will folk ever learn!

  32. The players are employed by the two competing teams which are not based in UK. Work Visa are only required if a person is to be employed/paid by a UK based entity. Similarly, if a UK based team were to play in Germany or Spain, visas would not be require for players of that UK team. However, in a sport like Tennis. all visiting foreign players competing at Wimbledon are required to have a valid work visa as their earning/prize money would be paid by the All England Lawn Tennis Club (a UK entity) and of course may finish up only playing in one match should they lose in the first round. The above tennis example is similar to the reason why foreign speedway riders require a Visa is they are to be employed/paid by a UK based team.

  35. That's what drives me bonkers with Lambert. When he burst on to the scene it didn't matter how he gates he'd battle hard. Now, with 'supposed' experience he's become a curb crawler or just follows back wheels. Also now gives up points easily too. It's not him. Just don't know if he's purposely doing it, or he's being advised. Natural racing ability seems to have deserted him, really winds me up. I want 'Ruthless' Lambert back. In fact, back to SGP, I'd love to see some more Nicki Pedersen style rider's back in the series, need livening up massively.

  37. Sold to you by whom? Social Media? I was involved and it was never at any time considered, or touted by us a done deal. We were up against a £400k offer and a notoriously unpredictable Council who had gone against us in the past. What part of that would make us think it was a done deal? Anyway it’s water under the bridge now, but I just wanted to put the record straight. It was not a planning issue and we were shouting to raise awareness, not celebrating prematurely, no matter what the internet chatter told you.

  38. If woffinden is to work his way out of this rut then race wins and building confidence back up is the way and the only place he is doing that is in Britain, Poland is big money but you still need to score to get it

  45. He probably believes he has nothing to prove and that is admirable but if that is the case step aside and let someone else have a chance to reach the top. The sport needs new blood at this level and the format probably needs a radical change to secure the supporter following going forward.
