Heavy rain in Kings Lynn at the moment so not looking good for next week's meeting.8 points

I suspect we’d have seen a lot better performance from Redcar’s youngsters if things had worked out as planned over the last 14 months. Our team structure relies on a strong top 3 doing most of the heavy lifting and we just haven’t had that. Connor was a late addition to the team last year. We lost Eric early on and he was only a shadow of his former (or current) self when he returned. We were still just about in with a shout of winning something when we lost Charles and the season quickly fizzled out. We’ve started 2024 by losing TJ and then almost straight away lost Danny. Puts a lot of pressure on the bottom end to perform in every heat with no respite. I’m sure Connor, Jason and Jake will put a couple of points on their averages at some point and I wouldn’t want to lose any of them. Just a bit tough being a Redcar fan/rider/promoter in the meantime that’s all. Similar situation at other teams to be fair.6 points

I went to this meeting tonight, have to say I was impressed with the presentation and the running of the meeting, with some decent racing. Good healthy crowd, light years away from the crowds in the early 2000s. I don’t how the Oxford promotion are sustaining running in three leagues, I thought it was madness when announced, but it looks like they are doing just fine, kudos to them! Whatever their secret is, it needs to be bottled and sold on to every U.K. Speedway club. Nice touch with the DJ on the centre green, I left feeling very impressed and just a little bit jealous. I hope they win the Championship.5 points

Bastian Borke has suffered a bruised lung but there is no broken bones, he is under going checks for muscle and ligament damage as he has no feeling in his foot.4 points

Both Bailey and Gilkes have GSAs over five. How many Championshipnreserves have an average under five?4 points

We've only ridden eight meetings. If he made the right changes there's no reason why we couldn't finish above Leicester, Oxford & Brum.4 points

For a meeting that didn't promise much on paper, BSN viewers got to see some top draw moments tonight. Congrats to Jack on breaking the track record, Hope he continues his great form in the GP's as Zmarzlik needs to be pushed all the way this year. What a ride by Woffy in Heat 11, Worth the admission money alone.3 points

Take a bow Scott Nicholls. Sam Masters is becoming the most disappointing rider in the entire league this season when you take into consideration that returning Polish riders haven't been used to British tracks for a good few years. No excuse for Masters to keep putting up these 5's and 6's whilst being protected in the engine room when signed on a 7+ GSA. Richard Lawson having to cover for Max Fricke's poor away form is becoming a regular occurrence.3 points

You've got your wires crossed, I wasn't referring to Monday's meeting which has been quietly postponed with minimal fuss. And one assumes without an SCB enquiry3 points

Wondering how we manage to run Speedway years ago.1/2dozen Teams now and it’s a fixture shambles.3 points

I have NO idea how / why Paco thinks he should be in the GP. Does he keep an extra special bike for these occasions? He is, without doubt, the most frustrating rider ever. Can happily be beaten up by a reserve or bounce out and beat someone of exceptional class Undoubtedly a lovely guy and very funny showman BUT……….3 points

As much as I hate to say it, they are probably the most disliked team due to their success. Not because of the nonsense you’re pointing out.3 points

Two riders got injured, but this thread has been turned into a farce. Trackrat exists solely to wind up the Poole fans, and all the Poole fans keep biting. It'll never end.3 points
-
It is acceptable to the Health and Safety law otherwise the meeting wouldn't be allowed to go ahead. There are more knowledgeable people than you or I that govern these things. Maybe you should complain to them and not focus on Poole speedway.3 points

Can’t fault any of the Bandits effort, to put up 38 and be in the meeting up until Heat 13 was a fantastic effort given the circumstances and it does make you wonder what could have been if we’d manage to have 7 fully fit riders for the whole night. It was essentially a free hit tonight and now we just have to worry that if Bastion is going to be out for a while how we replace his points return, I fear losing him could be what sends our play off hopes down the drain. First time at WINBORNE ROAD as some like to call it and it’s a fantastic set up, I’ll just have to remember to remortgage my house next time I come down if I fancy another trip to the bar.3 points

Scott Nicholls' ride in heat 15 was a thing of beauty. Don't know how he keeps doing it. What a legend.3 points

4 heat winners, 3 of them from Lawson, against a make shift Ippo team... let down by our Wolves in sheep's clothing again. Ippo should have been there for the taking, especially on a weather effected track. Keep Lawson... bin the rest! We'll have a Birmingham scrap come Monday...2 points

Yes it’s a fair enough point but it should be the best riders in the world not the best riders from each of the countries.2 points

He shouldn’t be anywhere near qualifying never mind in GPs. Concentrate on getting better in league speedway and the rest will follow.2 points

I think Bagpuss meant that facilities to replace riders are available is not a valid reason to stage the meeting - just another BSPL excuse.2 points

For those who want to, Bastian Borke has posted his crash from last night on his Facebook page, he is very lucky not to hurt much worse than he is.2 points

So gutted for everyone involved at northside.brilliant set up.fingers crossed this is a isolated incident and the thieves don't get a taste for repeating it.cant lie and I don't like to judge but I did fear the worst when I saw the caravans arrive just outside the stadium.2 points

Yes the Poole A&E is still fully functioning whilst Bournemouth hospital is revamped and enlarged for 2025. Even then Poole Hospital will have a 24 hour Emergency unit - albeit smaller than currently.2 points

I'd put Peterborough City Council high up the list as well because they produced a revised/adopted local plan that led to the current mess. Who was consulted on this and how was that consultation communicated. I never heard anything about it, did anyone else? It does sound like an AEPG consultation so is very much in keeping with this unpopular project, The PCC Peterborough Preliminary Draft Local Plan of January 2016 said: Policy LP31: East of England Showground - Within the East of England Showground, as shown on the Policies Map, planning permission will be granted for development for sport, leisure and other uses which would be appropriate to the existing Showground and which would not impair its continued use for that purpose. Proposals for development should not have an unacceptable adverse impact on the surrounding uses (especially on occupiers of nearby residential properties), and all development should ensure that the character of the area is maintained. Who would argue with that? How did that get to 650 houses and LP36 & LP30 (which is basically supposed to be the safety net for anything disadvantaged by the omission of LP31).2 points

No I think he’s absolutely right, I’ve disliked Poole purely and simply because they can’t stop winning everything, although I was rooting for them in last seasons grand final against the flash the cash Tigers.2 points

And the semi 2nd leg. His last 2 meetings at Sheffield were 7+1 and 9+1. Most Tigers fans would have liked him at number 6 this season, but the numbers didn't fit.2 points

Not sure but I think the stadium owners charge this amount not Poole speedway. Please correct me if I'm wrong folks.2 points

Well just got back a late finish but the large crowd remained until the end. First and foremost very nasty crashes for Kerr and especially Bastian Borke, who clipped the back wheel of his team mate and smashed into the back straight fence at full speed. He was on the track for a good 30 minutes before being moved carefully onto a stretcher and off to hospital. Bastian was having a very good meeting and it was such a shame it ended as it did. Kerr crashed in almost the same spot but was able to walk away after some attention. Wishing both riders a speedy recovery.2 points
-
Most tracks only have the one ambulance, probably all to do with costs, have heard costs of upto £800 per meeting for medical cover so another ambulance would push the costs well over the £1000 mark2 points
-
Oh that is good, he was going well, wish him all the best for a speedy recovery.2 points
-
More than likely but sounds a bad crash so best get county ambulance so the guy is only moved the once, to be taken straight to hospital2 points
-
This is a misunderstanding of the rule. There is no reason why Berwick should not get IRR for an existing injury. They could have had a full rider replacement had they not allowed Kerr the chance to ride, so they are not gaining anything through IRR.2 points

Who cares who is available, it shouldn't matter. .... The meeting simply shouldn't have been agreed to be ran knowing riders will be missing... And "someone" should have stepped in to either not allow it, or run it as a challenge.. You either want the leagues to mean something or you don't... Making up teams simply so meetings can take place has ruined the credibility of the sport.. So to keep doing the same thing that prevents the sport being taken seriously over and over again is crackers.. As, of course, was giving up Thursdays as a UK priority day... Which is the crux of the issue here... Another self inflicted kick in the whatsits...2 points

The meeting simply shouldn't be ran knowing two riders are missing... A ridiculous way to run a supposed professional sport, as all it does is devalue the league.. If the promoters don't care who turns up riding for the teams, why should the fans be brothered? Well done the Brummies for calling the situation out for what if is, and saving themselves a good few quid..2 points

Somehow I don’t think this decision was based on the evidence of one meeting. Kemp has been fine but hasn’t exactly pulled up any trees, a high score of 8+2 so far this season, his average was actually going down slightly at the start of June for what it’s worth. Cookie has shown signs both at Workington and Oxford of some sort of a renaissance, maybe not as consistent as he used to be but he could certainly be a match winner for them, it was only a few weeks ago he score 16 from 6 against Sheffield. It continues to prove that Dickson is prepared to shake things up and that’s something I am glad to have in a Team Manager.2 points

Not sure what the issue with Fricke is, maybe he's just got his focus elsewhere. Lawson apart the top 5 ought to be ashamed of those scores.1 point

It's the 'Zlati Znak' about as important as the 'Teesside Silver Helmet' Line up includes Paco Castagna, Max Dilger, Rickards Anvesulius, Jakub Jamrog, Jan Macek, Den8s Stojs etc1 point

Absolutely spot on, and exactly my viewpoint when Lynn postponed and got punished. The governing body should never be allowing fixtures on nights when riders are already absent. All this garbage about 'facilities being available' is exactly that, the paying public deserve better. Unforseen rider absence is quite different.1 point

Redcar now have 4 reserve standard riders in Bailey, Mulford, Trigger and Gilkes. On a hiding to nothing at the moment I'm afraid.1 point
