  1. Great news for Brum and The sport, I am particularly pleased as I mentioned Freddie on the Birmingham Facebook page about a month ago and received a p**sy response from a right know it all who stated I can't just make a list of riders without substance (i named one) , one of those who think they are well in with the sport because they are self titled journalists! Touchy pr**k!

  2. Another case of transponders being wrong at Workington on Saturday? BSN announced they were being used, video evidence quite clearly shows Boughen winning ht14, referee gave it to Jenkins… they do not work.

  3. Quite right, same with riding 500cc bikes with no brakes at 60mph on a loose surface. Oh hang on.......

  4. That's the trouble when you make ill informed comments based on what you see on socials... you'll be wanting brakes fitted to the bikes next! The track was in pretty good nick for heat 1, considering, the rain they had before heat 2 killed it and they shouldn't really have run the next 3. The track staff (seemingly just Andy Meredith) worked a miracle on it after heat 10 and it was the best it had been all day. This should either never have started, been called before heat 2, called just after heat 10 but it should never have been called after they did all that work to the track.

  5. The track at that point was the best it has been all day, nobody was going to be riding up by the air fence.

  6. Lemon knew what was going on, his first statement was the truth, he's been told by someone to retract it, but its still the truth. The track was surely raceable at that point, we waited 90 mins and it was clearly safe enough to give it a go.

  7. All in the interests of Speedway, I doubt any first time spectator would be coming back to watch men brush dirt, why oh why do we bother ?, continually shooting ourselves in the foot.

  8. On Saturday, all riders had transponders, the system was used throughout and worked well (and accurately). The automatic start system was NOT in use. What you have "heard" about transponder timing is nonsense. Times at all tracks correspond accurately with old watches, when also used, with any discrepancies usually the result of human frailties on the watches. The only track to move their start line this year (as far as I am aware) is Berwick, and of course the transponder sensors were moved too. I can only suggest you have your "hearing" checked.......

  9. Ever since SoN tickets went on sale, crowds for BV meetings have been down, fans had to pay out big expense and then couldn't go to the next few meetings. SoN tickets should have gone on sale in February in my opinion. Pre-sales of grandstand tickets give an indication of what the crowd will be like, todays pre-sales are double that of King's Lynn last week but still 200-300 down on a usual bank holiday meeting against local rivals. This morning rain and news of R/R for Kurtz will put off quite a few who pay on the day.

  10. An absolute p*ss take of the Belle Vue supporters - and of British Speedway in general - if Kurtz doesn't ride after riding in the World Championship Qualifier.

  11. It was said in an interview that DF does look on here occasionally, so would be careful what you say!

  13. Ha ha if there was a risk assessment on speedway they would have four wheels, a seat belt and brakes.

  14. Well done Brummies But no panic from Ipswich … we got nowhere near what we would have got from Ellis King and Doyle missing If you going to get injuries get them when you top of the league lol

  15. If Luke Becker wasn’t American you wouldn’t hear anything of him, I don’t really understand the hype.

  20. Having sponsored Kyle from his Eastbourne days and through his Poole and now Plymouth time, That comment got me. Yes I shouldn't have bitten on that post but it did get me. Im sure the poster was only jesting, so no harm meant by the original post, lets move on now..

  21. I really think you need to go and bury your head in a bucket of freezing water, if you honestly believe that.!
    2 points
  22. That really is a daft comment. It's clearly not true, 1) why on earth would Poole be worried about a home match with Plymouth? 2) why would Newman not try his best for his current employers? So if you're gonna make a comment that's not true surely you'd try & make a joke, make people laugh, not sure what this achieved? If you had said "Newman is riding like he's been paid by Poole", to show your disappointment in his score, that may be harsh on Newman, but better than suggesting he's a cheat.

  23. did lemmo tatical blunder again !! go under the radar in all this mess ? in heat 10 he put cook out as r/r for kurtz he could have used bewley lidsey and cook as aTS leaving cook to ride in heat 13 as RR for kurtz ? otherwise only blodorn left for RR in heat 13 ??

  24. No real point though for that is there..? It is UK Speedway after all.... Rinse and Repeat ad infinitum.. Nothing really changes, so a waste of time and money having investigations etc... Just crack on with the rest of the season and lets get all giddy for the play offs, and the "bumper crowds" they bring, plus the return of Robert Lambert to one of the four teams, and the chance to play the annual "Who will Bomber guest for?" Bingo.. Breaking News. Those who run UK Speedway are not very good at it... They were not very good at it 25 years ago, and stll wont be much good at it in 25 years time.. (Assuming it is still with us, obviously)..

  25. After a little reflection time, track was very wet even before heat 1, fair play to riders for cracking on despite dreadful visibility, track actually rode ok, after heat 4 they did lots of track work while sun was out which imo took far to long, racing resumed but in no rush, got to 10 when the heavens opened again for 20mins pretty much flooded the track, at that point meeting should of been called off, obviously BV wanted to carry on, however a long track work happened and after it the track was pretty good considerings and at that point after making fans wait for what seemed forever the meeting should of carried on, However with bikes warming up a paramedic was clearly seen showing her displeasure to the team managers and referee and then lemon made the announcement that because of her it was off, personally I was angry that this person even has a say, for me the ref should of made a decision as soon as the rain came after 10 but I suppose there must of been will from riders to carry on so I’m not sure where the blame is and apart from that paramedic we would of seen the match completed

  26. On me way home and thinking what a shambles. Sure can not help with the weather. Not sure who’s at fault but not a good day for BV management. No way to run a meeting and they wonder why crowds are dwindling fast. Puzzled by Lemons comments, most bizarre? He doesn’t seem to know what’s going on? As for the feeble ref well enough said. The only ones to come out with some credit is the BV track staff who really give it a good try.

  28. Whats the more important, Belle Vue trying to get a win or rider safety?

  29. To be fair to Collins he did have a broken leg

  30. Belle Vue are losing though, what's not to like!!

  31. That's a fair comment Phil - but the day-to-day supporter will still be very disappointed and may well feel 'cheated' by his absence. The optics just don't look when he scored well, and qualified to the next stage of the World Championship, riding in an event between two Aces fixtures that he's missing through injury.
    2 points
  32. He has an established match average - but so did Janowski. When is it too old to count? So it will either be 9.29 or 8.00 like Janowski. Don't you just love the way the regulations give clarity?
    2 points
  33. Yes, that’s how I watch it.
    2 points
  34. Hmm... medically he's either fit to ride or he isn't. As captain of The Aces I'd expect better. I see Lemo made a point of congratulating him on his GP qualification in the same sentence as saying he wouldn't be riding because of injury.

  35. And he would care what was put on here! Kyle had a bad night but nobody believes he would do it on purpose.

  36. Max Fricke is top of the substitutes riders list and will replace Jason Doyle IF he cannot ride.

  37. Happy with your sexist comment now?

  38. Nobody is being forced that wide at Belle Vue the track is too wide, riders are more than capable of avoiding the outside dirt. It could and should of gone on at that point.

  42. If that would have been the reason then that would have been fair enough but Mark Lemon said the medical person raised concern about shale piled up by air fence.

  43. And, on days like today, Saves me around £100 as the result will be largely irrelevant in the context of a top four finish..

  44. As a current GP star unlike Laguta, he should come in on a 8.
