is this is how true speedway fans see this . as does this post . so , you start a new job and it takes time to settle in . its not like a light switch when its either off or on . last weeks meeting against edinburgh was close racing , but the scores did not look that way. Celina won the reserves race in a FASTER time than Tate in ht 1 . even when Celona got pushed out on the first bend , she made the ground up on the front three . both reserves are improving at their own rate and deserve time to get to grips with everything you also have to look at CELINAS sponsor (ray fisher bodyworks ) how do you think they feel about that . this could damage any further involvement with help from them with the riders . i think about %95 of fans who turn up @ worky do like the effort both put into it , but speedway does not work like that .. to to see Celins and Sam doing their best to improve bit by bit .didnt Sam beat kyle howarth at worky v scuunthorpe . more progress from these two .we are NOT glasgow and drop riders like hot spuds . we are supporters who love the sport for what it is . up the marras . speedway would be a borefest if changes were made to win a silver tin pot worth about £10.00 .7 points

Can someone tell me where any better reserves are gonna come from ? Don't forget the team is put together on a budget. Moneybags Glasgow are also on the lookout to replace complin and maybe others. Imo we are doing OK for our 1st season back, get behind the team and enjoy the ride. UTC7 points

So looking at the current greensheets we are rock bottom in the averages along with Redcar and Edinburgh all sitting under 38, this season's team building was a monumental c***k up and we need to live with that, try and win all our home meetings and plan for next season, at least the racing is spectacular, we have been mince in the past, will be character building this year for sure, new fans expect to win at all costs whereas us oldies enjoyed speedway when we were bottom of the league. Good luck to my second team this season Workington, will be interesting following their exploits5 points

Hows it the chemists fault? Every time someone goes in to ask for benadryl for a cold do you think the pharmacist should come out and interrogate them aboutwhether they intend to ride speedway? The pharmacist is more than happy enough to advise but it is Lee who has to ask about it. They have no legal right to refuse to sell him it unless abuse is suspected4 points

No , you have my fave no 1, Craig Cook, who I also sponsor, just ask him, and I am following Celina's progress, no bitterness on my side, I still support the tigers but will always support Cookie as well4 points

Its easier being controversial when your at the top of your game but you look a bit of a pillock when you start dropping down the rankings4 points

Yet another strong unelaborated statement from you. You never explained your last one regarding what financial help Workington received from the speedway authorities and how the chairman helped put the team together3 points

I'm not sure if everyone's aware of this or not - if over the counter meds, such as co-codamol, I expect Lee would have recieved a nice wee statement rather than a ban.... https://www.scbgb.co.uk/news.php?extend.833 points

Ask the poster .... TINYS Members 316 741 posts Posted Sunday at 10:34 AM My mate went to stock cars at Lynn yesterday and apparently Buster announced that there won't be speedway at Lynn after this season. Thanks for the kind words. But your wrong on both counts.3 points

it will have been a substance that leaves a trace of a BANNED substance and lee with all the knowledge of bannned medication should know about ! also the chemist that sold lee the stuff should have refused or told lee of the side effects and told the person about any side effects . its common knowledge amonst the riders in todays sport , THE END.3 points

From memory we signed our team quite early, suggesting these were the guys we wanted. Perhaps too early for Brennan. Throw in a strange decision not to have Danes this year and a couple of doubtful choices and you end up with a pretty poor team. Worrall might have been signed as he was perceived as a Poole specialist; Flint was a shot in the dark while Starke was signed for old times sake. A strong top two -second only to Oxford if based on averages- and high averaged reserves, squeezed the middle and left little scope for manoeuvre. Thank goodness for James P.3 points

We need to learn from it! How a club that could up to now pull good riders from nowhere when no one was seemingly available and play the average system to their absolute advantage, could put together this years' 1-7 is beyond me. There will definitely be some acclimatisation for the newbies who've only known success and perhaps a reality check for the long termers.3 points

I think that Oxford will keep Craig Cook, it would be madness to let him go on his present form. I can see Oxford releasing Lewis Kerr. And given the choice between Kyle Howarth and Lewis Kerr, I would go for Kyle.3 points

No,he can take his 4 programmed rides,an R/R,a tac sub and ht 15 if they wanted. Edit:Gambo just beat me too it.2 points

More likely they need someone with the intelligence to string a sentence together writing the statements in the first place.2 points

You have two of our better riders from recent years... If you'd signed Rasser or Ben as well, you'd probably get a coach load to each meeting2 points

Spotify or Amazon platforms. It's very King's Lynn so might not be to everybody's taste but I think we get a good balance between the three of us. We are ten episodes in and it's being received pretty well.2 points

Signing 2 HLs who have never, imo, impressed at ashfield was bonkers. I don't know if no one else was available or was a concerted effort to sign them. But you need the riders to improve averages to be successful, and a strong home average usually comes with that!2 points

Think we just have to accept that mistakes have been made over the winter , and the Complin thing couldn't have been forseen . With no real viable alternatives , we just see the season out with what we have2 points

Rob Godfrey stopped clubs riding on Friday because they could not get guests. Seems same rule has forced Mildenhall to stay on Sundays if they come back. BSPL inconsistent again. Getting fed up with all this nonsense. And who gave away UK priority on Thursdays? Is it true? Only read it on here. Never seen BSPL statement and I subscribe to Star.2 points

Garry May only needs one meeting out of Covatti who then goes AWOL and Plymouth get a full facility (albeit on a temporary basis under the 2024 regulations).2 points

To make a switch at reserve would be a major error. Both reserves are improving week by week and are great to watch. Workington is my favourite team right now. Two ex Swindon riders, 3 exciting new foreigners, solid number one and a raw 100% tryer at no 7. This team needs sticking with. I've already got my credit card ready for the next time they are on the telly!2 points

Back in the day (like 50 years ago) there was no more intense rivalry than that between Coventry and Leicester. However, as a speedway fan I regularly go to Leicester these days while I wait for Brandon to reopen (yes it will, you see). My best friend says he follows Leicester but isn't a supporter. I'm a bit more on the side of being a supporter. It's not like any of the team come from Leicester is it? Seriously, I love my speedway and supporting a former rival seems to me quite appropriate. And just so this doesn't hijack the thread, I enjoy my visits to Oxford, very much. But when Brandon reopens I'll be back there like a shot.2 points

I thought the comparison between Tai's interview and Emil's interview was interesting - totally chalk and cheese. Tai always seems to have a chip on his shoulder and be looking for ways to be controversial - never seems to engage well with the interviewer. Compare that to Emil - both riders of similar standard but Emil much more interesting and easier to listen to.2 points

Deary me Arthur54, trying to be clever isn't your forte is it I doubt you would make the Poole pirates trivial pursuit team the original staging of this match was April 10th, and a late call off. Doh! Just hope the correct call is made I appreciate how difficult that can be.1 point

Just taking 5 min to read the comments the NDL will be what it is ,as I posted on another topic no unattached 3 point riders will get a chance this year proved this weekend in the 2 meetings that ran.1 point

Maybe it's all an elaborate plan to get a team who'll drop their averages enough to fit the other Worrall in1 point
-
It’s results like this which show why they should still have the losing bonus point - as Kings Lynn have performed well and got absolutely nothing to show for it now.1 point
-
So a 5.60 average from a rider away from home, not bad is it. Plus the fact his numbers away isn't the concern, it's his performances at home we need but you carry on1 point

Just the 7 points from the saviour of King's Lynn speedway only managing to beat Bailey, Mountain & Blodorn on a track that should have suited him down to the ground1 point

I'm intrigued as to where this person claims this 'announcement' was made. Buster's only involvement with stock car meetings is renting the track to the promotion, and running his burger stall. He certainly doesn't get anywhere near a mic to make any announcements, so my guess would be that someone had a dig at him while buying a burger and he gave a sarcastic response.1 point

Great effort from Lynn, far better than we managed! Poor from Lawson and Klindt, excellent from the others. Just a bit more from the two mentioned and they’d have taken something. Get Musielak back and fit at #1 and it gives the fans hope of a good rest of the season.1 point

The Speedway stadiums past and present group is still there. FB groups can be a funny old thing and can quickly stray away from their intended subject. As a group becomes bigger they become a nightmare to moderate if you're the admin. The biggest problems are the spammers and those from other groups who see fit to take over your page to promote their material. Unfortunately there are also just some very nasty people who are hell bent on trolling.1 point

One of my personal favourite questions, I always found Karl a hard person to talk to,he is very opinionated which is fine but he won’t take on board anything that someone else says and from what I hear he wasn’t overly popular as a rider although he was a good one so I do respect him for that ,,we had a disagreement over F2 bikes, I had my opinion he had his and we were never going to agree, strangely I only just found out I wasn’t a member of speedway friends even though the page kept popping up on my FB feed and he has messaged me twice to do his where are they now feature but I have refused1 point

was not the so called pandemic a health and safety issue to you then, so i did wrongly assume your position on that , but a large majority of the population were mind controlled into taking it, and there are a lot of people regretting it now. government love to tell people how to live there lives, and H&S, is part of that system.1 point

Being outspoken means stating your opinions frankly and clearly, it doesn’t mean being too inarticulate to express yourself in normal language. What Tai is known for is having his brains in his throttle hand.1 point

Here we go! I don't know why the BSN bother with this place. Every time they go there it either gets called off or there are track issues!1 point

So the guy who ignored British Speedway for many many seasons is after just a few short weeks back calling out the need to sack A) Young Brits just finding their way and whilst a little out of their depth are there because the the team has been front loaded to include him B A loyal experienced Brit in his testimonial year who currently is a bit of a slump Classy!!1 point

When you win you don’t look at the under performing riders whereas when you loose some fans on their back straight away, prime example when Sheffield won away at Leicester the other month Woffinden scored 5 yet nobody screaming for his head (he had enough of that in Wrocław!). Just seen Woffinden’s interview and might be a bit of reverse psychology re team changes to get a few misfiring riders firing, but personally don’t think TV is the place to air it1 point
