  1. I don't think there is enough space to fit 'called off because promoter has the emotional maturity of a six year old' on the fixture list. PS second semi final of eurovision tonight - maybe that's the real reason it's off.

  2. When you're talking about someone who has distributed child porn then yes, they should absolutely be discluded from any normal public life. Honestly anyone who could remotely justify SCB actions need to look at themselves and think about what sort of person you are. Because there's no justification. He's a monster.

  3. And then was caught again after being released. https://www.southwalesargus.co.uk/news/24046260.newport-man-images-people-urinating-bristol-area/ and you have people making jokes about it and welcoming him back. Baffling to say the least. these crimes are on another level to anything Garrity done. And yet here he is commenting on a forum as if nothing has happened!!!!

  4. Thanks for your opinion. Now clear off you absolute nonce. This sport and community wants you nowhere near it.

  5. How is that different then? If he is missing though availability or injury then you are entitled to a guest. Absolutely no reason to postpone tonight’s fixture

  6. Poached, lol. are you just ignoring the previous comments that the fixture in Poland was scheduled months ago, and Thursday is no longer a British race night?

  10. Yes it has been said earlier but you do emphasise an important fact which Chapman avoided by referring to December as a date when the meetings were not in the international diary. Also worthwhile recognising that this meeting has been arranged as replacement for the one originally planned for 28th April, the one Chapman cancelled due to the weather “forecast being not good” & not only did it not rain, it was sunny most of the day! So clearly he chose the rearranged date without referring to the international fixture list & now he’s tried to cover up his error. Which hopefully the powers that be have seen through.

  12. He won’t want to lose the amount of money involved in doing so. And to be clear. Nothing is forcing him to do anything other than his own self centred actions.

  13. You obviously haven’t watched Speedway for any length of time - guests have had to be used for foreign riders Championships and World Championship qualifying for decades !!

  14. Your rider is not available due to long established (and agreed) rules regarding priority being given to Polish Speedway on Thursdays. This is the same as Premier League clubs having first call on riders in preference to The Championship or National Leagues.

  17. If he posts sensible stuff, yes. Why should he not be allowed to post on a speedway forum? You don't think he should be allowed to talk to people? Probably not... Yes, what he did was bad; very bad. However, addictions - good or bad - can be considered an "illness", and like regular afflictions, there is treatment for them. I hope to God that he has been cured, but at least he owns up to his own issues.

  20. I would also be surprised if the very astute team manager at KL was not aware of the clash and up until last Thursday I suspect all concerned were happy at the thought of someone like Simon Lambert standing in. 17+1points later they had second thoughts! This time though it wasn’t blamed on the KL micro climate, pit gates, dodgy electrics, stock cars…

  22. My exact expenses came to £150 including food/drink which was money well spent to see Oxford get knocked out of the BSN by the mighty Pirates. U may need to work that scenario out on ur abacus!

  23. Can’t be bothered to trawl through 14 pages, so this might have been mentioned before or not ! The date for these Polish Championship IMP QF’s of May 9th has been in the Polish meeting’s calendar since January. For as long as i can remember these are always held on Thursday’s.

  24. Probably going to regret this but here goes... I'll start with the boring factual stuff. Almost all people sentenced to time in prison in the UK serve 50% before release "on licence". It's only if you get over (4 years I think) that you depending on your sentence (as set by the judge) either get 66% in prison, or have to apply for parole. I "think" Jason would have had to apply for parole, parole is almost always rejected at the first attempt. So if Jason has been released at attempt one then he has been very well behaved. That means no fighting, arguing, disagreements, dirty looks, attending courses (that's time spent with psychologists). It means he's worked damn hard. Next bit. Should Jason be allowed to be a speedway rider? Long term forum members will remember me, I idioted up, I went to prison. I met many people who were somewhere between absolute wrong 'uns who IMO should never seen the light of day to people who idioted up and will (are?!) be good people who will add to society on release. Where does Jason fit? Well IMO, he's more on the a bit stupid, but probably knows it and wants to make good but his intelligence makes it hard to explain that. Would I give him a chance? Yes but with very, very strict rules that if he so much as answers back the manger he is sacked. Why? Because I believe that everyone should be given a second chance (what a shock I think that eh?!). One of the reason I think people should get a second chance is, because as other have pointed out, what else can he do? Should he claim benefits for the next 50 years? Give him a purpose in life, trust me, it makes a massive difference. I would also be very wary of trusting anything in the press. Yes the crimes were committed but pleading guilty means you get almost no chance to put your side of the case across, also the press misrepresent things, which legally is allowed. Lies? Yep, sure as long as there is a vague basis of fact. So the press ask you for your side? Do they idiot!

  25. Personally I'd like to see super heats not contain the same riders as in heat 15... this will reward the better "team" and not just the best 2 riders on the night

  26. If we're talking atonement in a religious sense then I can't discuss as I am in no way spiritual or religious, so it wouldn't be fair on me to comment. Rehabilitation- if we are talking to a normal public setting then absolutely not. Ultimately SCB cannot be trusted in a normal public setting. He has abused one of societies most innocent, those who don't know how and cannot protect themselves. And this isn't a mistake, this is repeated and consistent action that he as an adult has taken at abusing children. And I do not take these comments lightly - the things he has admitted to means he is a danger to children forever and we should not take that risk for granted.

  27. Tonight’s race times at Sheffield were on par with Peter Carr’s Sheffield track record in 1985 (62 seconds ) in heat 2 the winning time was the same as Chris Morton’s Sheffield track record in 1977 ( 64 seconds ) progress eh

  28. Why didn't Lemon swap Mountain for Bailey in heat 14? That could be the difference.

  29. Are you Laguta Racing Fan in disguise or summit, makes me wonder with all the nonsense you keep shouting, Chapman only has himself to blame by thinking he's bigger than the sport and keep postponing meetings when it suits him, whether it's make believe rain, rider availablity or a broken pit gate

  30. Let me break this to you gently: It has been a regular occurance for over 50 years. And is explicitly dealt with in the regulations

  31. We shouldn’t have to use a guest when our rider is 100% fit, why can’t some morons understand that!? It really honestly baffles me why people still can’t understand

  32. What happens if he gets injured tonight (and I sincerely hope he doesn’t)? Do you postpone all further fixtures til the riders are fit to resume ?

  34. It made a change for me to actually see you win at Wimborne Road. The previous time was a 45-45 draw that saw Scunny clinch the cup on aggregate. I assume you were one of the 90% who had left the stadium with their tails between their legs before Heat 15 took place

  35. Yep, looking at the two teams and how they have preformed this season, it could be 50-40, it could be 40-50 or possibly something in-between, but the one thing I fully expect is close exciting contest, and at the end of the night, may the best team win.

  38. Not really a laughing matter, you do know what SCB got done for dont you? He was sent down for having extreme child porn on his computers and was caught filming people pi$$ing in public toilets. Google his name its all on there. Disgraceful how he has been welcomed back on here and so many liking his post.

  39. Completely bonkers how SCB is allowed to use the internet after what he was caught doing. How ironic he is on a thread talking about giving an ex con a second chance. both him and Garrity should be left to rot in a cell never to walk the streets again. Utter scum.

  40. Decent meeting last night once the track dried out. A bit too much overwatering before tapes up made it a gating competition, and Oxford were far superior at it in that regard. Some very good racing in the latter part. Highlight was Brennan’s pass of Masters on the last bend. Excellent and Brennan is now showing the potential we knew he had. Consistency is king and he is now showing it. Other highlights were Tobias holding Nicholls off for a surprise 5-1. Tobias showing why Matt and Dan Ford went for him this winter. Does come across as a confidence rider. And of course Nicholls ride in heat 15 which salvaged the win on the night for Oxford after Pirates had gated and led for 2 laps. But frustrating to have an interval after heat 11 when we had a long delay to get heat 8 finished, and a late 8pm start on top. By the time the meeting had finished it was well past 10pm when we got back to the car park. Many Poole fans then had major detours with road closures on the A34 and A31 meaning trips along the A303 and down to Salisbury, meaning many didn’t get through the door until 12.30 ish. Pirates team looking good. Not all firing yet though. The Cooks have not started the season like they ended last and there’s room to step it up. Plus we can see the potential of Hagon and as the season goes on he will no doubt improve. Going to be the team to beat.

  41. It's always good to watch Poole lose and it was quite an entertaining on a nice spring/summer night, though heat 8 was a bit of a slog... Scott Nicholls! Great rider, we all know that and I could go on and on about all his achievements down the years... but! I do wish he'd come round and celebrate his victories with the crowd. It was a brilliant match winning ride to pass Richard Lawson in the final race and there was a roar from the crowd when he crossed the line and they were clearly in the mood to celebrate, did we see Nicholls coming round punching the air and popping wheelies and milking the occasion... no, straight back to the pits on the back straight, the Oxford faithful were treated to Tom Brennan celebrating his magnificent personal performance, Poole really seem to have unlocked something in him this season.

  42. To be fair its very unlikely that he/she will have been - Timpsons on the other hand are well known for their rehabilitation efforts for ex offenders etc so the next man to cut you a key may well have been an ex offender! I saw Garrity ride for Sheffield in what was is 2015 or 2016 - he certainly had talent. You either believe in the concept of restoratative justice or not - he deserves a chance to prove he can move on and be the better person, other wise he will just languish on the dole and potentiually slip back into a life of crime etc. Did you know that when you leave prison you used to be given a payment that was about £50 or so and that was supposed to help you start again, I have no idea if thats still the case or if that payment is more now (I have never been inside etc so only know this used to be true from others telling me), however in todays world that will last about 5 minutes and if you are denied any chance to work again then i cant see how you are ever going to be able to contribute to society etc. However if that one chance is not taken then well you are on your own!

  43. I know he had numerous drug/alcohol tests when he was riding & he always laughed & went along & at no point did he ever provide a non-negative sample so I'd suggest that will remain the case. especially if he is under any form of probation scheme because he can & will be tested at any time so no racing schedule to work by. If by staying away when he's riding at your track makes you happy then that's what you have to do but there's no need to try to influence others to do the same. The Guys done wrong & been punished for it let him have his chance to prove he has changed. So many before have suffered time away or been banned by the sports bodies & they have come back into the sport at a latter point & worked hard to regain their deserved respect.

  44. I know this topic has gone left field talking about football & speedways reliance on guests and doubling up. The issue is that the sport in the uk hasn’t shown any imagination or desire to grow and become strong in the last 30 years at least. If truth be known it probably didn’t in the heyday of the 70s & early 80s either. I dearly want to see speedway become a sport that is taken seriously & one that has its rightful place as a decent spectator sport. I know that it won’t ever be like Poland here but I’d be happy with decent media coverage and the remaining tracks we have being secure. However to much that goes on now makes that impossible!

  46. That's weird - there was everyone else thinking Oxford were knocked out at Plymouth on Saturday. All last night did was allow Oxford to sign out of the competition with a win and also boost Plymouth's chances of winning the group. It's now a straight fight between Plymouth and Poole for the aggregate bonus point. Beautiful ride by Nicholls in Heat 15 to send you home in a sulk - with the 5-1 from Boughen and Jenkins in Heat 14 just as key!
