I can understand the point of getting to heat 10, Lynn were never gonna win of it gets to heat 15, not would they have a chance if it was re-arranged. But I feel for the public paying full price for 2/3 of a meeting. Feel there should be some sort of refund in cases like these.

I do get angry at the time wasted at meetings when anyone could read the weather forecast and predict problems. I'm sure people would rather see racing than be introduced to riders they already know and listen to what Ritchie Hawkins thinks ahead of the meeting. Today should have started earlier, been kept going at pace and have limited grading and breaks. If 50 people miss the start surely that is amply compensated by the rest of the crowd seeing more that the basic ten minutes of racing. I really try to always be positive about British speedway but with a good crowd for a Bank Holiday derby the public get shafted again - I don't want to see riders trundling round on dangerous tracks but I would expect promotors being more prepared to get the racing done when poor weather is expected.

Will declare now wasn't there - isn’t it the Refs job to run the meeting to time or quicker if needed? I bet old Frank Edben would have got through the meeting ok

Quite clearly you wasn’t at the meeting The meeting didn’t amble on there was 2 falls into the air fence from Wojdylo and also a start gate malfunction in heat 6 It wasn’t raining from the start it started getting harder after heat 6 …. Heats 5 and 6 were the quickest times of the meeting hardly an issue with the track at that point It takes me an hour to get to Foxhall and twice this season I’ve practically got there as they have called it off which was far more frustrating than today The rain got much harder very quickly They never said there was to be an interval …. Only mentioned that they would take one after heat 10 to work on the track If you was there you would have heard Nicholls on the mike explaining how hard ALL riders were finding it AND the reasons …Who wants to see top riders two wheeling around bends So yes I was frustrated today but there was nothing that could have been done so I don’t see why you need to make stuff up

I'm hoping the rain stays away or at least, is not enough to kibosh the meeting as after an absence of quite a few years due to my health, I am planning on going. It will be a different experience as I will probably not try to attempt to get to where I used to stand as it could be a difficult with the wheelchair, so I will have to get used to a new view from the wheelchair bit at the top of the terracing...closer to get a cup of tea though for my carer! Keeping my fingers firmly crossed as boy have I missed it.

What’s interesting is that 2 weeks ago, a member of this forum posted in the international section saying about the 4 quarter finals to be held on this date, before Kings Lynn’s last home match. It’s interesting the timing of this announcement after Woyldo scored a maximum in the last match. Would it be the same stance if he had scored 2 or 3? It absolutely stinks to postpone a match because there is one rider missing, regardless of how much notice has or hasn’t been given.

Lynn shouldn’t have to ride without Patryk on a BRITISH race night when he’s 100% fit, it’s as simple as that! and the British Speedway Promoters Ltd obviously share the same opinion

So say hypothetically Wojdylo gets injured in this polish meeting, will buster cancel the remaining kl fixtures until he and tobi are fit because he doesn’t want to ride without them? Where do you draw the line.

Simon Lambert commented on FB that no one asked him to ride, he'd be a fair replacement for Wojdylo, especially after his great performances last year.

Completely disagree, postponing this match doesn't hurt Poland in the slightest. Only messes up Lynn & Leicester fans who've planned to go. Besides what if Wojdylo was available but had gotten injured, are they allowed to cancel the meeting because they don't want to use a guest who may not score as much?

Correct decision, well done King’s Lynn!!! We shouldn’t be forced to race without Patryk because Poland have put their qualifying meetings on a UK race night! I hate it when meetings are postponed but F**K Polish speedway, they know when our meetings are as our fixtures have been out for months on end. #OurStars

Buster has got some sort of hold over the BSPL. I don't know what it is, But they're clearly too afraid to stand up to him bringing the sport into disrepute time and time again.

There’s still life in the broken pit gate latch excuse of course now that Wilko have folded and replacements will be difficult to find at short (several weeks) notice. Outside of speedway Buster should be credited for what he has achieved in life. His education was hindered due to his dog consistently eating his homework.

The whole situation at Lynn is getting ridiculous, following the joke postponement with Busters awful weather forecast we now have this !! I appreciate that his stand is against the Polish authorities but this call off doesn't bother them at all. This only bothers Speedway supporters who were intending to attend the meeting. Over the years is there any club that hasn't risen a meeting with 2 riders missing ?? R/R and a guest usually covers it!! Its up to the BSPA to challenge Poland, Busters actions here won't be noticed across Europe A pathetic action !!

It`s about time the authorities took action against Chapman, he is just bringing the sport in to disrepute with his constant actions. Not sure why some on here stick up for him, okay he threatens to shut the track down if they do not attend but he will shut it down at a whim when he decides his time is up.

It shouldn't be allowed, as a Poole win virtually knocks Plymouth out of the running. But sadly it can (& does) happen.

Again was you there? There was expected light rain not the amount there was in a short space of time Parade at 2.15 for a 2.30 start the club isn’t allowed to start before 2.30 council rules…. All Ipswich fans know that the first race is 15 minutes after the parade What you are saying is start at 2.15 … let regulars miss the first 4-5 heats ….what then happens if the forecast light rain didn’t stop the meeting? Considering the weather forecast I was amazed the meeting wasn’t run at a reasonable pace to give everyone the chance to see a full meeting, it started to rain pretty much from the off but the meeting continued at a fairly average pace, despite the rain it was announced that we were taking the interval after heat 10 and they did even though the rain was still coming down and the last 3 heats clearly showed the riders were struggling somewhat, we then had another 15 minutes when it continued to rain, some attempt to lay a bit more shale on the track and then the inevitable announcement that the match had been abandoned. The track looked fairly slick from the start and had clearly been prepared with the forecast in mind, if the meeting had started at 2.15pm and run at a reasonably brisk pace without an interval I suspect it would have easily finished before the rain made it not safe for racing but it wasn’t which benefited Chris Louis because he only had to pay his riders for 10 heats and Keith Chapman who only had to pay his team for the same. It is a shame the 3,000 or so supporters that turned up didn’t get the same benefit.

Tracks develop over time. It's not as simple as throwing tons of shale on. As others have said, it's been a record breaking wet winter. That track will need to develop. If you just throw shale on you'll also create a massive, and dangerous berm, that will make it more inside line than ever. It probably needs continued dry weather, tyre packing, several more meetings and then a very delicate harrowing out wide to start to deliver what they hope it will. For sure it'll be better and better as weeks go on. Massive credit to all involved and ignore the moaners who probably couldn't distinguish shale from cat litter.

Nice to see milik and pawlicki can qualify for the euro final on saturday and then turn in a rubbish performance on monday. Brummies need to bin them both and start again. If they cant score at the nss where are they gonna get points

I believe that Hans Wasserman, a German rider who appeared for Reading back in the 70's was nicknamed Split, Wassermann being the German translation of Waterman.

I think the idea that Plymouth are going to have the racing surface perfect two or three meetings in after the wettest winter on record is fanciful. If you folk don't like the shape then fair enough but the surface is bound to improve with time and the weather.

I've had an idea for a TV programme... Race Across Manchester, it's a 22 part series where the contestants have to make the 5 mile journey from Stockport to the National Speedway Stadium only using public transport Along the way contestants will face desolate industrial wastelands, ridiculous weather conditions, the local natives and severe language difficulties... starts July 2024!

Definitely Roger Johns! He always had "potential", but was unable to fulfill it. His Second Division averages were okay - nothing great - and generally, his BL averages were poor when he moved up. For some reason, he started to develop in 1978, and ended up becoming a Dons legend! The moves he would make, like sweeping around the boards, or making one of his famous cutbacks, became the norm. At Plough Lane, he would regularly beat the opposition No.1, often in great style. In 1980, he inflicted the only defeat on Bruce Penhall in Heat 13 of the BL clash. There was the famous last heat 5-1 with Edward Jancarz (from the back) over Ole Olsen and Mitch Shirra to get us a draw against Coventry! His best night was probably when he beat Peter Collins twice - from the back - on his way to a full maximum against Belle Vue. Then, there was the KOC clash at Hyde Rd in 1980, when he scored 16 paid 17, and beat Collins three times. Never a superstar, but Johnsy provided some of the greatest trackcraft I've ever seen.

I’ve no idea what the BSPA website says. Ipswich have advertised their meetings as a 7.30 start since I first went over 40 years ago. Same as Bank Holiday meetings, always been advertised as a 2.15 start. That is for the parade, it always has been it’s nothing new.

It was never “tapes up” at 2.15. It’s a start time of 2.15, just as it’s a start time of 7.30 on Thursday evenings, meaning parade 7.30 first race 7.45. It was, and has always been, 2.15 parade and 2.30 first race on Bank Holidays.

Exactly they know what time it starts which was 1415, the start of the meeting is the parade with the first race 15 minutes later. Pretty straight forward really.

Still people queuing to get in at 1415. The meeting start time at Foxhall is the parade with the first being 15 minutes after, has been forever, if you started earlier without notice in advance lots of regular later arrivers would be pretty peeved missing the first couple of heats.

Agree but.....the track was conducive to good racing for example the classic race between Cook and Riss, also Connor Bailey said the track was good on Facebook . Having good track conditions is very difficult and there are not many times that track conditions are ideal with so many weather variations and track surfaces that are either starved of shale or too much, over watering, or under watering which can also because of weather predictions.

had a chat with him last year, seems quite content with his life style, probably having no huge gas electric water and council tax bills, i thinks its the future.
