Pretty negative comments there Hawk. Most posters on here, including me, seemed to enjoy the meeting. Close racing, a fair amount of passing and the meeting went right down to the wire. Plus the underdogs won. So put that in your pipe and smoke it.8 points

What a great Speedway meeting! If you didn't like that I really don't know why you watch Speedway at all, it had everything, great racing, close scoreline, last heat decider, drama in the last race and a victory for the underdog. You can compare it to Poland until the cows come home but you're comparing Premier League football to the Championship. That was a great advert for the sport in this country8 points

Really good to see all the postive comments on the match - often after a TV meeting there is a lot of negativity. So glad Birmingham won (Nothing against BV) as well otherwise the gap between the top 5 and bottom 2 would be geting too large - just need Kings Lynn to win a few now and we might get a competitive battle for those 4 spots! We need an even and competitive league!6 points

Good to see he has got the chance , when he is riding the way he is and the way we know he can he is an asset to both leagues. I wish him well and hope it is a success for him.4 points

Meeting off. Flooded track from over watering after too much sun throughout the day. Sorry just practising for Thursday.3 points

That’s because Belle Vue DO have the biggest home advantage in the league, let’s not pretend otherwise here. Why are you all saying you’ll take all the aggregate bonus points if that wasn’t the case? Nobody racks up home scores in to the mid to high 50’s at home as consistently as Belle Vue do. The stats are there for all to see! The only team that occasionally make a decent fist of it there are Sheffield, probably because their riders also have a decent set up for big fast tracks. You need to be fast at the NSS, otherwise you get swallowed up very quickly even if you make the start. The home boys have the set up to a T, away riders very often struggle for speed around there, even the very best.3 points

Why would he though? Very least they would had got was a match winning 4-2! Birmingham deserved that victory , bit of a recently typical bitter attitude from an Aces fan3 points

Well done Brummies - very entertaining meeting and some of their riders really did well for them tonight!3 points

Brum deserved that win tonight. Showed a lot of fight throughout the meeting with various riders stepping up.3 points

How the hell did Wrocław get a draw out of that ? Great meeting, bewley outstanding2 points

Pity about Wednesday. Getting our fix by going to Edinburgh and Berwick. Come on the Pirates ☠️2 points

Exactly, that was my point. They are much weaker than last season and fail to see where the improvements are going to come from. Blodorn is doing way better away than I expected and mountain in reserve will get them a few points. Not in the same league as PC and Mort.2 points

You stick to Poland, I'm very happy with the product here, great meeting last night and really pleased the Brummies did it2 points

And yet F1 does so well? First corner, race over... Unless the tyre fitters can come up trumps...2 points

From what I saw then read on updates only 12 out of 15 (80%) were like this. Just shows the ignorance of none speedway fans.2 points

It does seem a strange one putting Ellis at 5, I can only assume they want to pair Dan T up with Doyle to take the pressure off a bit in 3 of his rides perhaps?2 points

In the Leicester match, I had to go into the grandstand, it was so bitter cold ... I didn't last night, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was full again. Certainly, the crowd has been so much bigger this year than for a long time.2 points
-
I don't get that one either? I'd class previous tracks such as Eastbourne/Wolverhampton/Arena-Essex, as the 'home-advantage' type venues? Failing that....Leicester's gate-'n'-go type track is the new Home advantage for me....simply because the home side can get the bike set-up just right for getting out the starts....2 points

For me he's a bit of a mercurial enigma, on his day he's as good as anybody and he can do that consistently until something gets in his head (and I am not talking about his mental health here, before everybody jumps on me, I am talking about his mind management as a professional athlete), history has shown that with various incidents he's been involved in. He's established himself at several clubs over the years and for one reason or another has moved on and it's been quite a surprise to see that. He is a quality Speedway rider, you don't get to qualify for the GP's without being so, there is absolutely no denying that and he should dominate the CL in its weakened form, PL in it's "strengthened" guise this season? He has the gating ability to be a lot better in the PL than he has recently been, his current form in the CL says it should be a no brainer for a team to include him in their side in the PL especially on a short term basis.2 points

No pressure on the lad I would suggest.. 28 days to earn a few quid he hadnt budgeted for.. If it works out, great, he may find a permanent place either there or elsewhere... If it doesnt, then no loss...2 points
-
He had a very decent season last year, up until the crash that injured a photographer. That could affect any rider, wether the struggle with mental health or not. Some comments on the forum suggests he had a bad season, but really he just had a bad end to the season.2 points

Someone had to be excluded - as Chris Louis said it would have been very harsh on Pawlicki to exclude him as Kurtz dived underneath - it reminds me a wee bit of the playoff final at Owlerton (22) when TobiM charged under Oh Kurtz and down he went!2 points

Fair call imo,but once the ref come to that conclusion the race should be awarded as Brennan was in a different post code to Bewley.2 points

The NSSC are hosting a special event on Tuesday 7th May at the Brandon Club. Starting at 8pm, Paul Ackroyd, David Norris and Gary Havelock will be discussing the work of the Speedway Riders Benevolent Fund. Although at times it is a solemn but necessary subject there will be plenty of opportunity for David & Gary to entertain the audience with tales of past adventures. It promises to be a great event with all proceeds for the SRBF. Everyone welcome only £4 entry. All details here; https://www.nuneatonspeedwaysupportersclub.co.uk2 points

Could've done that by partnering Dan with Emil? Doyle normally meets a reserve once a match, this time he's meeting a reserve twice, seems a waste if a superstar rider to me1 point

I also said this at 8.07 am ! Did anybody else on this thread back a Bham win ??? Wasnt going to mention it...but as you've brought it up...I'll bask in the ambience !1 point

Not surprising. Heavy rain from 6pm tomorrow (last time I checked). We are in the same position as Glasgow were last season, where you have to consider early call offs when flying a rider in. You can't really wait and see.1 point

In addition to what arnieg said, there's also loads of street parking. You'll struggle to get anywhere on Sandy Lane, but always spaces on Balfour Road (a less than 5-min walk from the stadium) if you get there within 30mins of it starting. No restrictions on any of the roads.1 point

I knew it was going to lose straight away because something was off before the meeting even started imo, -4 was always too good to be true. Thankfully I got my money back straight away with Bewley on the UNDERS after the pundits mentioned about Bewley limping and stuff. Was considering the cash out on -4 but I would've been gutted if it did come in so I left the bet on knowing that Bewley was more than likely to get me my money back anyway.1 point

Tate was not well on Sunday when he got a paid max, god help any team when he is 100% fit1 point

I think what you have to take from it that as a neutral you watched some good racing and it was close until the end which is only a good thing for the sport especially to those watching for the first time, the worst thing that could of happened was Birmingham being soundly beaten and it being follow the leader. Take it for what it was, this isn’t the glitz and glam of poland. Hopefully now with Birmingham having their full 1-7 and getting more track time they won’t be the whipping boys.1 point

Well done Birmingham. Nice to see a struggling team win a meeting. Seen that plenty over the years with Lynn. Only down side is your above us1 point
