They have both been around a long time experimenting should be done at a practice session.Your missing Douglas who was a real No1 and very reliable everywhere unlike his replacement.3 points

I'm sure Berwick fans will be pleased with the contributions of Schlein, Kemp, Hume & Borke, but they only scored 4 when replacing Etheridge. Now imagine the slating Jye would've gotten on here if he only scored 4!3 points

Woffinden done at this level think this is the last we will see of him the GP3 points

Based on the last two years.. A gradual decline sets in, eg Magic and Dudek. All very willing but turning around a downward trajectory is very, very difficult.. Especially with so many young bucks coming through.. Many of whom will take risks that the more established riders wont anymore.. Hope I am wrong, but whem you start relying on wild cards it usually only goes one way..3 points

Tate actually came off before the red lights were put on, so was not under power when the lights did come on, nothing dodgy about it, just unfortunate3 points

Your scepticism is justified. Josh misses the gate same as always and at Armadale that's a real issue, Lasse hits the fence a lot, Kye is inconsistent, Paco....is Paco, Justin is 'new', Connor can gate better than Bastian but is that enough.. and Max is great and I want to see his progression. In summary we aren't better than last season. But as long as there is good racing I don't mind at all.3 points

Woffinden is a very talented rider and can still turn it on at the top level and he can certainly talk the talk but for me his body language on the bike says he doesn’t really want it enough, his first ride he backed off going into first turn, did a cut back and then basically moved over to let lindgren through, that’s not the body language of a world champion2 points

So because it was still drizzle at 1815 that meant it was definitely going to continue long enough to take the track beyond the point of no return does it? The forecast and rainfall radar were indicating it was going to stop any minute and it’s didn’t. They waited until the track was passed the point of no return simples, questioning the professionalism of the Witches as a club within the British speedway ecosystem is comical, one of the best run most professional clubs going. Sometimes the weather goes against you early in the day, sometimes it’s right before the meeting it really is that simple - either way the club can’t control the weather at any point.2 points

Turned into a terrific meeting after a slow start . We were helped by Masters' engine failure in heat 11 as he had looked untouchable until that point . But a 12 point lead , which looked unlikely after 7 heats , is in the fun zone . A decent lead to defend , but not unassailable. What can you say about Jack Smith that hasn't already been said ? Best I've ever seen him ride , and boy did we need it . Wishing young Ace a speedy recovery and the second leg should be a cracker .2 points

Scunny"s heat leader trio must be a worry . Howarth did manage to win a race tonight , Allen did battle for his points , but Palm Toft was dreadful . For the home team , Son of God will never score an easier maximum . Schlien and Kemp were able back ups . Don't think the home fans will be looking forward to Son of God returning next Saturday1 point

The referee was waiting for Lambert to obey marshal's instructions, and did not put green light on. Riders don't have to spin motors until marshal walks away and referee put's on green light. It may be Simon has sustained a fine, or a report, for causing the problem.1 point

Unfortunately Scorpions have that old problem of not having a No1 now that Douglas has gone, basically it is a team of good second strings who occasionally ride like heat leaders + Kyle Howarth wasn't a very good signing1 point

Personally I thought it was a pretty decent GP, above average in fact compared to recent years. It may not be racing for the purist, but the way the bikes and tracks are riders seem to have to be pretty extreme to make any moves and use the ruts, it certainly makes for entertainment and the FIM don't seem to be in any hurry to tone the bikes down. Heat 15 was purist stuff and a great race! None of the noobs disgraced themselves and probably did at least as good as some of the journeyman that have been cast aside this year with maybe Huckenbeck being the stand out. Maybe the reason a lot of the field don't resonate with some is because we just don't get to see most of them regularly in this country anymore? As for Woffy, for me he's at the stage of his career where he's quite comparable to Doyley and the contrast between the 2 is blindingly obvious to see, just the body language on the bike, Doyley looks as though he'd do almost anything to get back to the top, his semi final 2nd place was all you needed to see, brilliant stuff, Woffy... I can see him retiring from Speedway at the end of the year. Well done to Jack Holder, very impressive, I like his style, just the right amount of arrogance without going over the top with it and he's able to back it up unlike Woffy these days.1 point

He can blame his skipper for not taking the start marshalls orders1 point

For sure, no rider can complain about their gates, Jack Holder had 2 grid fours in the heats & top scored.1 point
-
Agreed, he’s our only chance of getting a different world champion this year not called Bartosz imo.1 point
-
It is his issue... So fast when in front, but does come out of those tight bends, where all four hit the bend at the same time, often losing positions.. Lets hope he can continue tonight..1 point

Definitely the away performances have been great so far. I should be more positive, you are right. Hopefully a fun season ahead.1 point

The problem is every meeting has a practise same day so thats equivalent of 8 meetings over 4 days which is a lot of wear on the track.1 point

Haha! Pretty sure they wouldn’t have lost any sleep over it. Meeting won, bonus point won, both top scored and outscored Schlein, got the 5-1 in heat 13 when it actually mattered etc. Exceptional ride from Schlein - wish he had come round to take the applause.1 point

Good to see some positivity after a 16 point win… I thought our 1-7 all rode well for their first home meeting of the season. We’ve also scored 40+ and Poole and Berwick whilst chucking some points away, think the boys deserve some credit. I do agree that it was brilliant to see some competitive racing again at the dale.1 point

Who wants him replaced ? As someone said you don’t go from a good rider to bad overnight and I am sure JJ will ride this out.1 point

Oh yes Mancunian Garrity admitted: "It would be a dream to be at Cardiff. I used to be a bit of a tearaway but those days are over. https://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/other-sports/jason-garrity-pleads-chance-race-187342141 point

I only mentioned Flint because if Lee is banned we may be forced into very early team changes and him or Starke could be in danger of losing a spot (don't think it'd be fair on either), both need to be on their A game. Hope Lee is back and we can focus on getting all the riders comfortable instead of making any changes.1 point

Leon scored paid 10 from 4 rides which for your 3rd heat leader is more than acceptable. I agree he is still lacking speed but with our injury/suspension issues he is the least of our worries.1 point

The racing early on was processional but there were some cracking races later on, the races between Wright and Bachelor were superb (thought Wright won Heat 13 from my position). To suggest that this was some underhand tactic from Redcar is quite frankly laughable and makes you look a bit daft. Bears still having no luck with injuries, although Kings absence was slightly levelled out by Zischke withdrawing too (hope both are ok) but the team rallied and Bailey and Knudsen gave Wright excellent support. Special mention to Mulford who was much improved. Better signs for the team. For the Comets that’s the best I’ve seen Batchelor ride in a long time and Vissing had a couple of good rides but Cook faded after a good start and the rest were inconsistent. Makes the second leg interesting at least.1 point

There's a trend.... You got battered at Berwick and have been beaten at Redcar... And they're snooze fests?1 point

That list is still huge and amounts to around £60,000, it stretched back to the 90s, some of the non payers are no longer with us, some have just retired and gone off into the sunset but some are still riding and have no intention of paying, said this before that if any rider has a debt to a speedway van sales at the end of the season then next year they shouldn’t be granted a license till it’s paid, I know a few years ago this was the case with Aussies but not sure if that still the case1 point

Apologies if I have come across as aggressive, that's really not my intention. I haven't said you don't care, I have said you don't seem very forgiving. Unlike you I'm not prepared to write somebody off for life for a crime they have committed, pleaded guilty to and served time for. He was found guilty of burglary, robbery and two counts of attempting to commit fraud. My reasons for not touching him with a barge pole are purely Speedway related, but like I said, if I were a desperate promoter I may think differently.1 point

Hardly anyone outside the few thousand who follow the sport would even notice if he came back into Speedway... It isn't like any return would drive tens of thousands away... As that has already been done by others down the years... And if anyone wants to make a stand by not going should any convicted criminal be riding then let them.... Plenty more will still turn up regardless of his presence.... And, if we are now only allowing ex cons to do certain jobs, why should others then be made to work with them? Other "labourer's" in your scenario may not want him there with them for example... Therefore, what jobs does society say ex cons can do without someone having a protest? The bottom line is hardly anyone in this country has heard of Speedway, let alone Jason Garrity...1 point
