Some of the reactions on here are quite hysterical. A person committed a crime, was caught and served their time - happens all the time, get over it As for other speedway riders, we've had alleged and convicted corruption, multiple drug abusers, alcohol abusers, violent criminals, including murder and many of these are/were warmly thought of e.g. Lee, Morans, Ward. Very few have no victims, the drugs trade sees many deaths and abuses of people across the world. If he wants to ride speedway then I have no problem with that.5 points

Obviously you have not seen any coverage from the GT tyres northside arena from last Saturday?? Lots of passing in most of the races and over 4 laps3 points

That was a bit better. We should have around 7.5 points to replace MPT or Patryk with at the end of the month. I hope we try and use them.2 points

The £70k is pure fabrication to suit his agenda. The consortium will hopefully release a statement on Friday, once it has been reviewed by their legal team.2 points

Not that I am biased but Ben Cook quite a clever guest as he has done a few meetings at Oxford last few years in Championship as we are normally grouped with them a bit. So am not surprised with his score.2 points

Give it a rest dinlo, in the 50 + years i have been going, that's the first time I've ever seen that happen, may have had problems with the starting gate on the odd occasion, but not the red lights as well2 points

Ridiculous comment, surely nobody wants any club closing, we need more clubs not less. Had a great rivalry with Coventry but I never wanted to see them close. Just because we have pulled a few strokes in the past doesnt mean everybody will be happy if we closed.2 points

Sam needs to learn that he can't keep to the outside line all the time. As exciting as it was to see it live, he needed to just cutback to the inside on the final lap imo.2 points

Just a few questions - where are the school and doctors surgery going, how can he justify the comment about the EoES not being the home of the Panthers when they have been there longer than he has been an adult and where does the £70K loss come from? Finally, can we vote for the first target at the indoor axe throwing in the indoor sports hall?2 points

That list is still huge and amounts to around £60,000, it stretched back to the 90s, some of the non payers are no longer with us, some have just retired and gone off into the sunset but some are still riding and have no intention of paying, said this before that if any rider has a debt to a speedway van sales at the end of the season then next year they shouldn’t be granted a license till it’s paid, I know a few years ago this was the case with Aussies but not sure if that still the case2 points

Seeing as nobody has started a thread yet, Line ups to be confirmed:- Redcar “Bears” 1, Danny King; 2, Jonas Knudsen; 3, Connor Bailey; 4, Jason Edwards; 5, Charles Wright; 6, Jake Mulford; 7, Ben Trigger. Workington “Comets” 1, Craig Cook; 2, Tate Zischke; 3, Antti Vuolas; 4, Claus Vissing; 5, Troy Batchelor; 6, Sam McGurk; 7, Celina Liebmann. After the home defeat in the BSN series, I would expect an improvement from the Bears, but who knows what will happen, both teams appear to be evenly matched, could be a home win, could be an away win or even a Golden heat.1 point

It was,but there still needs to be improvement from Toft imo.He was beaten so easily in ht14 when we needed something from him.Riss of all people was in a different postcode to him. Also Iversen's mistake against Wright possibly cost us a draw, although in his defence the track grade and watering made it pretty slippery, they both nearly had each other off a couple of times.Onwards and upwards though but we still need another signing imo, because Klindt won't make the difference between winning and losing. Toby was excellent tonight.Mind you that last bend in the last race when he locked up how Tungate didn't wipe him out i will never know.Big well done to Tungate for some how avoiding him.1 point

That is said at most tracks not just here but everywhere to be fair. Nobody is happy unless they see passing in most heats, which just doesn’t happen.1 point

I doubt very much that Doyle, Jack Holder and Woffinden would want to take a risk on a wet track with the first GP this weekend1 point

Yes - well worth it in my opinion if you can't get there! Home win by 10+ i reckon tonight. Max Fricke will continue his good form!1 point

I agree 100%. But Wojdylo is struggling badly so as a combination Cook/Flint is stronger than Wojdylo/Rowe.1 point

The Peterborough telegraph is notorious for believing anything the local village idiot is chiming on about, just need to read the comments and reaction on the facebook post to see no one actually believes it thankfully. A ‘leisure village’ is the go to term for developers when wanting to build another dump of a soulless housing estate basically.1 point

Stop talking sense, that's not allowed on here. He must hit the ground running and be able to ride tracks he's never seen before from day 1!! Tut tut. It's not his fault that Birmingham have been build so poorly, he's a solid rider but to be thrown in the deep end at number 1, partnered with Tom or Steve (two experienced campaigners) and against the likes of Jack Holder, Tai Woffinden, Maciej Janowski, Emil Sayfutdinov, Jason Doyle, Chris Harris. He's never going to score to his assessed 7.50 average now is he? He should be at number 3 or 4 (against the Josh Pickering, Nicolai Klindt, Charles Wright, Danny Kings of the league) with a solid team around him.1 point

Depends where you look. YR forecast 0.4mm of rain this morning and 0.5mm of rain this afternoon and a dry evening. If this is the case you are still likely to see Andy and the water bowser this evening.1 point
-
TBH forecast has changed overnight on App I use. But Oxford track can take a fair bit of rain and the club do their utmost to get the meeting on. Take a look at the first meeting vs Birmingham there was some very good racing on a wet track.1 point

I understand Crucible has a contract for 3 more years…..to mark 50 years at the Crucible….thats amazing. I like watching snooker, but it can’t match the excitement of a speedway meeting, actually ……nothing can.1 point

Shouldn't be a problem, if there was any safety concerns I'm sure the referee would stop the meeting,it's speedway sometimes you have to improvise.1 point

The King’s Lynn team right now will be Musielak, Basso, Iversen, Palm Toft, Wojdylo, Rowe and Ben Cook guesting for Tarasenko… if Basso isn’t fit then Ben Cook will guest for Basso and we’ll do R/R for Tarasenko1 point

The sport which has the most offers and offers them continuing employment is football. Yet every week people pay to watch rapists, drug cheats, wife beaters who steal a living through the sport.1 point

Hardly anyone outside the few thousand who follow the sport would even notice if he came back into Speedway... It isn't like any return would drive tens of thousands away... As that has already been done by others down the years... And if anyone wants to make a stand by not going should any convicted criminal be riding then let them.... Plenty more will still turn up regardless of his presence.... And, if we are now only allowing ex cons to do certain jobs, why should others then be made to work with them? Other "labourer's" in your scenario may not want him there with them for example... Therefore, what jobs does society say ex cons can do without someone having a protest? The bottom line is hardly anyone in this country has heard of Speedway, let alone Jason Garrity...1 point

He did wrong & was punished in a court of law. His sentence was to serve 7 years in prison, due to good behavior he was released early only serving half his time. He now wants to return to normal life & that includes racing speedway. I'm not Judge or Jury but I am willing to give him time & space to prove he can be a valid member of the speedway community1 point
