That’s the reason for the call off then. Absolute cheats. AGAIN.7 points

Hardly anyone outside the few thousand who follow the sport would even notice if he came back into Speedway... It isn't like any return would drive tens of thousands away... As that has already been done by others down the years... And if anyone wants to make a stand by not going should any convicted criminal be riding then let them.... Plenty more will still turn up regardless of his presence.... And, if we are now only allowing ex cons to do certain jobs, why should others then be made to work with them? Other "labourer's" in your scenario may not want him there with them for example... Therefore, what jobs does society say ex cons can do without someone having a protest? The bottom line is hardly anyone in this country has heard of Speedway, let alone Jason Garrity...7 points

He did wrong & was punished in a court of law. His sentence was to serve 7 years in prison, due to good behavior he was released early only serving half his time. He now wants to return to normal life & that includes racing speedway. I'm not Judge or Jury but I am willing to give him time & space to prove he can be a valid member of the speedway community6 points

I wish Vadim Tarasenko all the best. Hopefully Vadim quitting will burn a big hole in Buster's pocket once attendances drop after a few more batterings.4 points

At a guess his machinery’s gone to pot and he’s probably not got connections or money to sort it out. Also explains why KL called Sheffield meeting off4 points

Such a shame to see Buster and King's Lynn struggling. Has he sold Panthers yet btw?3 points

The sport which has the most offers and offers them continuing employment is football. Yet every week people pay to watch rapists, drug cheats, wife beaters who steal a living through the sport.3 points

I still don't understand the call-off. The weather was lovely, you can't just ignore one forecast & pick the one that suits you best. They had Lawson & Brennan lined up as guests, r/r for Tarasenko allows every rider an extra ride, so there was no reason to call it off due to the teams strength. If there was no facility for Tarasenko or Zmarzlik was his replacement I could understand the ruse, but still condemn it. But if King's Lynn are planning to call off every match when they may lose, they'll hardly get any speedway raced!2 points

Tbf at least you know where you stand with Simon! 110% effort every race.2 points

Not a problem- advantage is all with the punters who can if they want to watch qualifying, see how quick each are, whereas i have to put up the spread a week before and it’s all about intuition and enticing the punters to have a bet on a particular rider. most punters back more but figures show it’s a better bet to back less- here endeth the lesson on spread betting !2 points

Because you can’t just call meetings off at the drop of a hat. Every man and his dog knew on Monday that no rain was forecast so why call the meeting off? They probably knew on Sunday or Monday Tarasenko wouldn’t be returning the kl promotion are a joke.2 points

Well I can tell you that according to the KL website and facebook it's 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. Perhaps there is some uncertainty over NKI and Basso?2 points

I don't see why speedway riders must be holier than thou, to be riders. I'm pretty sure many riders have a 'back catalogue' or skeletons in their cupboard. Many boxers have skeletons and back catalogues. I do understand speedway promoters getting worried about the affect on their gates. On the other hand, he might be a draw. 'Come and see the bad boy come good'!2 points

I agree, it is possible the tabloids could get create a negative story, if Jason was allowed back into the sport, but Oscar Wilde said 'there's only one thing worse than being talked about and that's not being talked about'. Is it likely a planning officer/committee would have it brought to their attention that 'speedway employs convicted criminals'? They seem to worry about how the surrounding public are going to be affected, such as: Will the roads be able to take the extra traffic, will the stadium have adequate parking, will the environment be affected, will the greasy motor bike types cause trouble in the area, the noise polution, etc etc1 point

We will go to Ipswich to get a win. But Richie Hawkins has already alluded that they will set the track up to be grippy which probably won't suit us, which is up to the home team. For me as long as we get the bonus point from Ipswich then I will be happy, so hopefully we can keep as tight as possible.1 point

Anybody else thinking that the Nicolai Klindt release was instigated by Klindt, and it was a mutual decision in the end? I doubt Tarasenko leaving King's Lynn has come as surprise, so the team place was probably known about. Oxford have got a bit of stick changing the team so soon, but perhaps it's what Klindt wanted. It would explain why they've got Riss in quickly on a lower average without using it to replace Kerr.1 point

So tarasenko’s agent informed kl on Tuesday afternoon that he wanted to stop riding in the uk and by Wednesday dinner time the change is already been ratified by the bspa hmm smells very fishy. Changes don’t get ratified that quickly do they?1 point

So Tarasenko quit on Tuesday! I wonder if he was planning to turn up on Monday before it was called off?1 point

What a shambles the start of the season has turned out to be. Buster needs to sort out strengthening the team asap or he wont see another crowd this season like we had against Belle Vue. What riders are out there, that could come in and make us stronger though??1 point

I'm sure Jason is aware of the consequences of making a public return and whatever team he rides for will remind him of this, but at the same time have a responsibility to help him too . Jason has broad shoulders so name calling and verbal abuse won't have a impact on him. If people don't want to go and watch the meeting he's in then away meetings are hardly affected because it's once or twice a season and home team ( whoever that might be) meetings would only affect the individuals who choose not to go which I doubt would be that many in the great scheme of things. Speedway is far from a mass spectator sport so no difference to people not going anyway for reasons like watching on streaming or being on holiday etc. There's also the hypocritical people who give it the " I'm not going" attitude and still go!! I've known people like this over the years.1 point

Adapt? Not sure I'm buying in to that? Great rider? Not sure about that either? What has he done to merit being 'great'? I'm not knocking your opinion...but I would swap 'great' for maybe 'capable'? He's had 5 meetings and been 'sh#te' so far ! I'd say he's a trier...but nowhere near good enough to be a Premier Heat Leader from what I've seen!1 point

No, they won't be finished. Said at the Chargers match that they've been extended until at least the end of the month.1 point

I seem to remember him being taken under Gary Havelock's wing when he was a real hot prospect at Coventry, I'm not quite sure where it all went wrong for him Speedway wise. Personally, I think as he's not currently banned from speedway, as some riders are, he should be free to ride, if he can find a club that'll have him, I think he maybe needs somebody to take him under their wing again or a chaperone type person a bit like Glenn Roeder with Gazza when he went to Italy, just to keep him on the straight and narrow. Many "famous" people have been to prison and then gone on to make a success of their lives, Gino di Campo also broke into somebody's home and look at him now. Sometimes prison is the wake up call for people to turn their lives around. Personally, I'm with you and wouldn't touch him with a barge pole but that's just me, if I were a promoter at Plymouth or somewhere I may be thinking differently.1 point

Any objection should focus on the fact that it is a “retrospective “ application, and that if it is allowed, then in effect the planning department is rendered redundant, as anybody can build what they like and then apply for “retrospective “ planning.1 point

I think you're right, heat of the moment can get to all of us, I've done it watching the tv at some meetings, although try not to in the stadium, but a planned interveiw like Woffinden's is unforgivable really. As Poole Keith has said there is an amazing crop of young( mostly Spanish and some Italians) who conduct themselves so well in a foreign language, they're a credit to moto gp. Don't ever remember Mark Loram seeming it necessary to drop the bomb in the heat of the moment or in an interview.1 point

I see the committee said there will be positive news coming soon after a meeting last night1 point

I agree, about Tungate/ Doyle. Like you say Doyle turned up on time for his flight, and the the reason for him missing the meeting was beyond his control. In the case of Tungate his flight left without him as he was late for flight, that is down to him that he did not make it back into the UK in time for his meeting. For me the two totally different reasons for missing a meeting.1 point

They’re not similar though are they. One’s plane departed on time but just didn’t get on it, the other got on his plane and was told to get off it as it wasn’t taking off. You’re comparing apples with oranges. Think one or two from Sheffield way are calling for a ban because they sniff an opportunity with Sheffield riding at Foxhall on Thursday..1 point

It’s disheartening to see the lack of interest in the NL these days. It’s come from dumbing down the league for years and years. Why would fans be as excited about an inferior product?1 point
