  1. The bike setup was great for getting out the gate all night but when it hit the dirt it was sapping the power out the engine hence the loss of straight line speed coming off the the bend he made a changes but didn't work much better so was trying to keep it out the deeper stuff his engine was good but just not strong enough ,scoring double his ave in his 1st home meeting and some people still moaning lol

  2. Great to hear that cookie had a good meeting and broke the track record to boot, well done Craig, you deserve all the success that now comes your way...well done, great to see you back to the form we all know you're capable of showing, good luck for the rest of the season.

  3. I'd have to disagree with that point, clubs don't sign Speedway riders just because they try. If Workington thinks she'll improve & hit her 4.00 average - then that's the reason not to drop her.

  4. No It’s Not quite as simple as that he did say he is bringing another engine up for next week

  5. That was a good win against a a decent Berwick side. It’s worth pondering the outcome, had Flint been available. Would he have scored as many as Vissing? Doubtful, but then again, if Complin was available, I’m confident he’d have scored more than Hagon’s four. Starke looked slow, so credit where it’s due; his five, paid eight was an achievement. Borke is a rider. I can’t imagine he’ll be at reserve for long. Berwick have a great talent on their hands there. There was some great racing on show last night. Lots of passing and lots of tussling, so fair play to both sets of riders.

  6. Yes, that’s because in the last three seasons he’s failed to score double figures on three occasions in his last eight visits, but two of those three were paid double figures. You got stick because despite being presented with the facts that totally went against your argument, you decided to stick your fingers in your ears and die on that hill which made you look stupid. Last three seasons at Foxhall 7+1 9+2 11+1 9+1 14+1 14+1 12+2 10+3 Why do people just blatantly Lie? I’d say Thursdays poor performance was very much UNLIKE Harris’ “usual Foxhall self” from recent history. Again, that’s because in recent years he’s scored double figures there more often than he hasn’t. It really isn’t difficult to understand is it, Orion? Well for some people it clearly is!

  7. From a Berwick perspective I think tonight was far more positive than negative, I have no doubt as has been mentioned that if Glasgow hadn’t had Claus we would’ve taken the bonus point and potentially the meeting. If Sedgy had started how he finished maybe even then we could’ve stolen the bonus point. Kemp looked the best he has looked so far in a Bandits race jacket and despite nobody really setting the world alight we hung in there till the end. Next Friday at Armadale is make or break for our chances of qualification, a must win if there ever was one.

  14. Well that's his fault for his attitude towards British Speedway last season.

  15. Scunthorpe had their ‘lap of honour’ , just after the first junior race, like always happens at Redcar, no matter who wins. Agree about the car park but it’s not the speedways car park , and the council have been asked to do something about it but don’t hold your breath.

  17. Think starky did ok tonight paid 8 from a 4 point rider is pretty decent he used his head in his last heat to team ride with Sam to keep Borke behind but was struggling for speed suppose lack of riding doesn’t help either

  18. We’re crap here no two ways about it so expecting a home win. If we can keep it within 12 and take the bonus point that’ll do nicely. https://ipswichwitches.co/raceday-preview-belle-vue-rowe-motor-oil-premiership-r1-a/

  19. think you'll find the real reason Jake wasn't at his best tonight or last night was he is suffering from tonsillitis and has no energy at all. I caught up with him after the meeting and he sounded and looked pretty rough. Think that explains why his point scoring power was down. He will be back though I'm sure. Well done to Mark Phillips and everyone who has been involved in the project over the winter. You have done a great job with still a bit more to do in places. Massive project, horrendous weather but it's a from me. Gladiators 24 will be a different proposition. The team make up is a typical one from Gazza and I'm sure he will get the best out of them. Seen Dan Thompson twice this year now and wow! Very impressive at Oxford in the Premiership and again superb this evening. Got to say as well how good is his Dad with the kids after the meeting! He was pushing my 10yr old son around the car park in one of Joe's bikes before he loaded up the van. Didn't need to do that but it was brilliant and I reckon Logan won't forget that in a hurry.

  24. Think it was better than that in all competitions - 12 home, 12 away. In 83.33% of home meetings and 83.33% of away meetings Claus scored more than the 5 point average he was signed on. 2 bad meetings at home and 2 away

  25. Redcar not having much luck on the injury front.Good meeting today, they put up a good show.Worky have decent top 5 just need one of the reserve to come good to be up there.

  28. As a neutral this has been a good meeting, shame about King’s crash. Track looks superb where you can pass anywhere and no one is safe in front. Congratulations to all those involved to make Workington happen. Hope you have a great season

  30. No, they always wait until after the first second half race to let the winners do a lap of honour. Not a snub to Scorpions at all. Car park is pretty treacherous to walk through in the dark, especially if it has been wet.

  31. The debate was can Harris score in double figures in a heat leader role in a final v a this decent Ipswich side .. so we are worried about last year stats . 12 + 2 was a good meeting but he was at 4 and 10 +3 was riding for Ippo . The bottom line in my opinion that he would have only scored 6 or 7 in that final in a heat leader role not the stupid scores you and others were going on about . So pure logic nothing to do with putting fingers in ears etc . Sadly we never got the chance to see who was right . Of course the next port of call was you to go crazy because i said don't rate Oxford and said that Magic was on the downgrade and not a No 1 and they would come unstuck in heats 13 -15 ... Thou its early that's looking pretty spot on . No doubt if this trend carries on you will be sticking your fingers in your ears or getting angry as normal .

  33. "Starke was gating, but Christ there was no speed in his bike on the straights and he was having to ride defensive alllllllll night." I don't pretend to be an expert but is that not a simple matter of selecting the correct gearing? Correct balance to be struck between fast acceleration (gating) and top speed down the straights? Surely his team captain or more-experienced riders can offer advice on the most beneficial settings for the new Ashfield track?

  34. Slick/ Grippy We will be coming down for the win, not matter what the track is like. If we cannot win then we settle for the bonus point.

  37. I wouldn't expect travel expenses to be an issue, its got to be something else. Last year we were flying in Marcin, Claus and Basso. Even this early in the season it looks an act of gross self harm and will only heighten fans frustration when Leon isnt so good at home. Thats not Leon's fault, he has the whole season to get to grips with Ashfield but get to grips with it he must.

  43. Actually Schroeck's excuse for his mistakes makes him look even more inept imo I’m normally clued up, but there was so much going on towards the end of the meeting and I missed an opportunity there and that does frustrate me. As soon as Tungate was missing & Clouting was his planned replacement, the obvious choice would be for Wright / Clouting or Wright on his own to take the first 3 rides with Riss replacing Clouting / Tungate in heat 14 alongside Boughen. Then once they were 6 points down, very obviously you'd put Nicholls in instead of Boughen. So how was "so much going on" that he made a mistake? He should have known what to do before the first heat?

  44. Schroeck not being too hard on himself. “No-one is harder on me than myself and I know I made a mistake in Heat 14 and could have put a reserve out with Scott. I’m normally clued up, but there was so much going on towards the end of the meeting and I missed an opportunity there and that does frustrate me. But at the end of the day, the only way we could have got a win would have been to also gain a heat advantage over Sayfutdinov and Doyle in Heat 15, when Ipswich had pick of gate positions"

  45. It’s hard at times to get one’s head around the fact prices for almost everything and anything have shot up in the last few years. Last year, on holiday south Shropshire we paid £13 for fish, chips and peas each, and that was takeaway price…..no cafe seats, we found a bench in a park. If “we” want live world class speedway on a British track, and Belle Vue is one of the best race tracks in the world, that most of the riders/mechanics, plus officials etc, are travelling many miles mostly from abroad, then it has to be paid for. The erection of the temporary stand on turn 3-4 will cost more than a few quid as well. You can’t compare prices with a uk premiere championship meeting, it’s in a different class. It is clearly a case of if you don’t want to pay the price then you don’t attend. I was at BV for the 2016 world team meeting at the atmosphere was pretty amazing. This year I am very happy staying at home watching everything that will be televised for the £6.99 Discovery+ are charging per month.

  46. If Nicholls has the wrong helmet colour on then surely he should’ve been excluded on the 2 minutes there. Or was there more to it like Oxford don’t know the rule book when it comes to changes.

  47. Birmingham Monday on the way up, Oxford on the Sunday afterwards on the way home and Sheffthorpe on the blank Thursday to make 7 meetings in 7 days. Go on British weather I dare you to foil my plans!

  48. No he's correct the match you are referring to was on 30 July. But Laguta rode (for Peterborough) against Leicester on 7 Sept scoring a max. But it is also worth noting that Laguta'a away scores were stunningly unimpressive, including 4 at Leicester losing to Sedgmen and Allen
