That confuses me even more: 1) I can't believe they only gave Klindt 4 matches 2) I can't believe they didn't think to sign Riss for Kerr & if after 5 weeks Klindt hasn't picked up his scoring then drop him 3) I can't believe with 7.44 available to replace Klindt, Riss is the best they can come up with 4) I can believe, but kinda disappointed the BSPL / SCB allowed Oxford to drop Klindt because they'd prefer to use guests6 points

That seems bonkers. Losing a rider because of injury or whatever reason should inevitably make your team weaker, that is the reality of it. Unfortunately they have now created a scenario where not only are you no longer weaker but you are actually far stronger. When riding at home with no logical reason using maths and statistics, you can get a guest with a higher percentage average than the missing rider. We now even have a scenario at Oxford where they’ve sacked and replaced a rider in Klindt, for Riss whilst keeping an injured rider in the side. There is no way that the league should of accepted that redecoration and the use of guests like Nicholls now.6 points

That's the problem with many speedway promoters / fans etc. They act like if you are weakened by injury that's a disaster & shouldn't be allowed. To me that should be expected & accepted.4 points

I really do hope he going to go on the straight and narrow now, not sticking up for him or justifying his crime in any way but he is not the first rider to attack and I use the term lightly another person and return to racing although the others may have escaped a prison sentence for their crime, anyway not sure how fans would react to him but in garrity’s world if anything can rehabilitate him it’s speedway, if that fails for him, I fear the worst4 points
-
I believe you either have a rehabilitation system, or you don't.. If Garrity's main way of earning money was as a plumber would he never be allowed to do it again.? Having employed ex cons, part of their release agreement can be restorative justice whereby they meet up with their victims and agree to give them recompense over time for their actions, and it is built into their wages received when they start work.. (Obviously this is led by the victim and doesn't always happen, but maybe in his case it has?).. To have anyone saying "I will never go again" though is crackers... If you have a flood at your home and are ankle deep in water, and an ex con turns up who you know has commited a violent crime, would you turn him away ? I am no bleeding heart liberal at all, but you either have a system that rehabilitate's and your slate is then clean when your time is served.. Or you don't...4 points

If they sacked Klindt for underperforming, does that mean they'll do the same with the team manager?3 points

We thought zach would do a job didn't work out but more than happy with how things are shaping up good bunch of lads,no prima Donna's just honest lads who love riding their bikes and competing, I'm sure speedway fans around the country will enjoy watching the gladiators race this season.3 points

Letting someone like that back into a sport would give it a bad name in the media I guess that is where speedway has an advantage. It doesn't have a good name, nor bad. It is just ignored3 points

Totally agree - completely ridiculous to be able make this change and still use a guest It seems to be one step forward and two back in the attempt to get the sport back from the brink when something like this is allowed to happen3 points

Nobody has ever said Tate or the fin were no hopers if anything people have praised those signings. So bit of a Strange comment.3 points

I’ll guarantee you Zack Cook won’t score4 pts at Oxford for Poole in the season and has really lost Plymouth the match last night2 points
-
Plenty wrote them off before season Along with Craig and troy and both reserves2 points
-
No they don’t. The technology that the BSPL invested in isn’t robust and needs further work so not in use at present.2 points
-
As Riss could replace Kerr, meaning Oxford would no longer need a guest, I would support a ruling where Oxford were not allowed to drop Klindt & still use a guest for Kerr.2 points
-
The other aspect is they have to be able to take up gainful employment otherwise society will be end-up paying more for them on dole. There's no aspect of the crime being related to speedway, unlike say a convicted child abuser working in a school, so don't really see the issue with working again in speedway. Pretty unpleasant and nasty criminal I think we can agree, but hopefully some lessons have been learned and is now a reformed character. As the sentence was over 4 years, I think that's not an automatic halving and requires some sort of good behaviour and approval of the Parole Board for release. And of course will still be out on licence.2 points

Really solid performance from us. Everyone looked on the pace, Howarth had abit of a mare in heat 8 but just glad he got up. Woffy and the Holder bro’s absolute class round our track which gives us a great chance of pulling them bonus points in through the season. Special mention for Dan Gilkes he’s had a tough start to season and after heat 2 I feared the worse but he obviously made a change to setup and looked great in his other 3 rides. Tobi 100% effort as always looked the only rider in the KL team who was going to lay a glove on our heat leaders. Might have been closer with Basso and Iverson hopefully they’re back soon to fitness1 point

Personally I feel the pricing for this event is a scandal. £95 for a child to sit in the main stand for the final? We are meant to be a family sport?? £65 to stand on the back straight?? Way above a premier league pricing structure… who and why set these prices??1 point

I couldn't possibly comment on the ineptitude of the Oxford team manager....1 point

KL are in big bother already. That was always the risk when Buster banked on Tarasenko and Wojdylo being mustard all season. You need Klindt ASAP!1 point

Can Scott guest for him as well? Or maybe Bomber could? He must be due one?..1 point

The Bears using rider replacement for Jonas Knudsen who has Polish commitments . Both Charles Wright and Connor Bailey can take a ride, could strengthen them up . We will need to be on it from the off .1 point

Racing against garrity wouldn’t trouble me even knowing what he has done as long as he is drug free however there is another rider who I do think is a worry and certainly makes me think speedway isn’t the ideal occupation for his personality1 point

I believe, it was the first meeting, for the new track curation team and judging by the * slickness* of the track, it was a long way from what the riders, are used to.1 point

Isn't this the kind of thing Phil Morris should be preventing/commenting on with some justification around the decisions made?1 point

Exactly,do they not help each other out if one's found the set up does he not pass any information on or are they all for themselves there's no I in team1 point

Sheffield's scandalous use of guests in the final last year spring to mind. Etheridge for Vissing (who barely rode before getting injured) basically won them the league: 6. Jye Etheridge (G) - 3, 1, 0, 2', 3 = 9+11 point

I still don't get why Plymouth keep using second strings at No1? Zach might have been testing things for when we go there. But I would have thought Poole would want Oxford to lose? Edit - plus this is why you don't use guests from your own group!1 point
-
Not forgetting other speedway criminals like jerran hart who with help from mate's beat up a member of the armed forces for fun or James purchase who killed someone through dangerous driving. I don't remember these individuals getting much stick and infact purchase was welcomed back to cradley with open arms. There's a few more riders who have done crimes similar. Jason hopefully has a second chance.1 point

I wasn't surprised by Oxford's heavy away loss at Poole, but expected then to be fine at home. Great effort by Plymouth, who won't be as bad as many think they are.1 point
-
And get riders taking guest bookings and scoring nothing so it then lowers their average? That would be a daft idea.1 point

According to the BSPL site Dan got 21 paid 24 (from 10 rides). He must be cream crackered. It was especially good seeing as how he seems to have got a 5-1 all on his own in heat 12. Edit: They've corrected the error now (maybe we're read, more than we think!)1 point
-
Great to see Dan and Joe thriving after the rotten treatment they got last year. Fantastic climax, milking the VAR for all it was worth. But as a Cheetahs fan the Oxford line up looks a bit flabby.1 point
-
Don’t rate Oxford at all. Outside of masters and Nicholls the other 3 in their top 5 offer you not a lot.1 point

He needs a very good night then... However... If he wasn't guesting and someone else did, Edinburgh could still get knocked out, and he would have missed out on three meetings... Plus.. Of course, if Berwick did reach the final, he could still get another couple of meetings riding for them... Or, he could ride for the other finalist if they needed him....... Don't think he could ride for both teams in the final, one leg each though...1 point

Sedgeman will have one interest on Friday, and one interest alone, that`s the size of his wage packet at the end of the night.1 point

Aye just shows how ridiculous speedway can be . Surely guests in this competition should be from teams of a different group1 point

On paper this is a tougher meeting than last week for the Bears. 3 ex Bears in the Scorpions line up, plus Howarth and Lambert who both score well at Redcar. Need a much better performance from the Bears or it will be another home loss I fear.1 point

Hope you people in the 'Cancel Culture' don't do anything wrong or you might end up with people trying to cancel you.1 point

No he's correct the match you are referring to was on 30 July. But Laguta rode (for Peterborough) against Leicester on 7 Sept scoring a max. But it is also worth noting that Laguta'a away scores were stunningly unimpressive, including 4 at Leicester losing to Sedgmen and Allen1 point

I know the word legend gets thrown about far too easily nowadays but the guy is an absolute legend of British speedway! I know it’s a bit of a standing joke of who is Harris guesting for tonight but one thing is sure the day he retires speedway will be all the poorer for it.1 point
