I've got my doubts any club would truly consider signing Jason and expect it to be people jumping to conclusions. However, if Plymouth do then I really cannot see them recovering from the decision. I can completely appreciate he's done his time and ultimately Jason does deserve the opportunity at rehabilitation and leading some form of normality. But being a sportsman is a completely different kettle of fish, it's not just a job or a normal 9-5, you're front and centre in the public and an inspiration to younger fans. Would I want my kids cheering on someone who has robbed a vulnerable disabled person at knife point? Absolutely not and I can imagine most would feel the same. Also need to consider the negative media that'll come from it. The press will have an absolute field day with it dragging Plymouth and the sport through the absolute mud.

Mystery is, why was this publicised? Many instances of ref's making mistakes (only human) and there was no need to publicly pillory Mr Watters for what may or may not have been the wrong decision on the night. Better to have a quiet word...

Could have used different words considering what he done. Any promoter with half a brain cell, no matter how talented, shouldn’t touch him with a barge pole. If he was signed for my club, I’d go nowhere near no matter how much I love the sport.

I think it would be madness to drop a 6.5 Champ rider, for one still on his 2.00 starting ave. While Flint has been a disappointment, he's still far better than Killeen. Maybe in the future Killeen would be a good signing, but Brummies need points now.

It's still early doors and line ups can change but I just feel like patience is zero with the fans due to how poor they've been for quite a while now. They showed promise early doors but this fixture against an out of form lions side is a huge opportunity missed. I just really don't get how all the fans can see that the team is poor but the the guys in charge of team building think its a decent side? How did Oxford put a semi decent side together but Birmingham couldn't? I know Oxford have a few quid lying around but tolley isn't afraid to cough up the money. Didn't he say he would sign Zmarlik if he wanted to ride here?

Yes a bit of a strange decision, Klindt is a far better rider than Riss so must be more to it than meets the eye.

teams don't win, crowds fall off, thats the way it is these days. Fans have changed, its no longer a night at the speedway enjoyable in itself, it has to be a win

Birmingham are in a real mess - unless they make changes the losing run will continue and the fans will drift away. Really can't understand why they signed Milik - never rated him and he has never done anything in England. They still haven't worked out that Worrall is hopeless unless he can ride at number two - never understood why - it must be a confidence thing. Much has been made about Flint over the last couple of years but he is going nowhere and is not getting any better. If Klindt is available that might be an option but they need at least one more heat leader from somewhere even if they sign him - depends how deep Mr Tolley's pockets are but unless he does something its hard to see them lasting the season.

Id rather Plymouth new riders was discussed on Plymouth thread And garity was discussed only in court news or such like

Flint should be one of the best rising stars, especially looking at his Champ average, but he's not riding like it. Not to put all the pressure on him, but Birmingham needed him to show that's he's the highest ranked RS for them to be competitive. But dropping points against strugglers Boughen & Joe T (maybe not struggling anymore) ends any chance Birmingham had of challenging for victories. I wouldn't swap him for any unattached RS, as no-one would even score the one point he managed. Nor do I blame Brummies for picking him, he was the obvious choice. But as a young ambitious rider, who wants to make it on the world stage, needs to step up.

The NDL product today is much poorer than it has been for as many years as i care to remember and the admission price is the highest....its simply not a sustainable business model for standalone clubs and relies on top ups from clubs running multiple sides which can't last forever. Not only that, in general the racing is pretty boring to watch, yes I know these riders are ' developing ' but some can hardly race. And it should be alot cheaper to get in, the club running the meeting needs to accept this and it would probably attract a bigger crowd.

Had the opportunity 5 years or so ago to continue a successful NDL with more teams, but seemed to be sacrificed because it encroached on the league above. Could see what was going to happen then and it's definitely gone the way it was obviously going to go, with the clamour for points lowering and the " it's a development league" , which drove out some of the experienced guys to help with the youngsters developing. I know cost were a problem, but lowering the points didn't really help the 'smaller' clubs and sure the likes of Eastbourne, Kent, and Mildenhall would have continued and thrived in a decent level NDL , certainly a time when Brennen, Edwards and Abblit seemed to develop ok at Eastbourne. Think this league will be lucky to survive as it's virtually no longer develops and it's not really a league.

Must admit, I didn’t think it would be that easy for the Lions. Fricke continues to under perform but everyone contributed for the visitors, with either a win or paid win. I still think that Brum have one of the best reserve pairings (Flint is better than that tonight), but they have no top end or middle order! The assessed averages of their top two would appear to flatter them at the moment but they should be judged in a few weeks time when their actual average will reflect their performances. Dickson’s riding order shuffle will make him look clever tonight, but it would have made no difference to the meeting outcome. In his defence though, I admire him for looking to do something after consecutive home defeats.

I said earlier if the Brummies could'nt win this with this team they would struggle to win a meeting all season, 5-1's from the Leicester reserves against so called Brum Heat leaders is not what the fans want to see, Tolley has 2 choices carry on and lose shed loads more, or put his hand deeper into his pocket and get a true No1, Milik is finding it tough, Worrall is not a heat leader right now he aint a very good second string, Flint flattered to deceive against Sheffield, hard as it may seem Lampart, Milik or Worrall have to make way for a proper No1 goodness me Nigel Tolley needs to bring in quickly a proven experienced team manager that knows who to sign and what he is doing, their was one kicking his heels down in Swindon but Tolley has placed his faith in the wrong people yet again.

Just using speedway updates right now. All I can say I feel so sorry for the Birmingham fans. On the other hand so happy for Joe Thompson.

Laguta is the answer to Birmingham's problems. Having the (real) world champion in the pits will inspire the rest of the team.

Worrall could have ridden at number 2 all season, normally I'd put the weakest top 5 rider at 2. But if it's the only way to get him to score points, put Worrall at 2 with Brennan & Lampart / Klindt in the 3&4 pairing.

It's tough but it has to be done. Lampart will need at least a year to adapt and Brum don't have that time because the ship needs steading now. Something like this 1-7 would dig Brum out of a hole and would see them putting some wins on the board. 1. Laguta or someone of a similar standard (Everyone has a price) 2. Brennan 3. Klindt 4. Worrall 5. Pawlicki 6. Z. Cook 7. Killeen (If on the RS list)

Probably Ipswich's toughest home meeting they'll have all season due to certain riders in the Oxford side who know Foxhall well. Riss will have a point to prove and if he's back to his old self then he could put up big numbers, Tungate is in red hot form, Wright and Nicholls are both very good around Foxhall too. Emil and Doyley to win it for the Witches in what could be a last heat decider.

It is easy to make knee jerk reactions - change X for X - following a disappointing result. The likes of Pawlicki, Milik & Lampart are the obvious easy targets but surely at least give them the opportunity to attain a none assessed average. Then the team has more options for changes moving forward.

Klindt for Lampart is the first step to recovery.

Any decent rider, IF available would only hold Brum to ransom and want guarantees rather than a performance related deal. Although Tolley did imply that money was not an obstacle in their team building before their full line up was declared. That was always going to bite him in the a*se and I wonder how comfortably he’s sitting lately!

Always has been, He's nothing more than a bang average No.2/No.6 in this league. Birmingham signed him on a 7.50 purely due to fact that nobody else wanted to ride for them.

Milik is absolutely garbage.

And the early call has again saved the expense of flying umpteen riders over from Poland.
