  4. I always think if you are going to say ‘someone told me but I’m not going to say who but they are a rider’ then you shouldn’t bother. Firstly if you won’t name your source don’t say it, secondly if your source was talking to you off the record it’s not exactly enhancing your credibility if you run on a public forum to imply it to make yourself look important. At least that’s what I’ve been told by someone who knows these things and is famous but I can’t tell you who

  5. Trust me Pawlicki will become a big fan favourite at PB

  6. And the early call has again saved the expense of flying umpteen riders over from Poland.

  7. Not at all just plenty on here who seem to get some sort of kick slaughtering a 17 year old kid. Ace was hard on Cole’s but it was his choice to drop it ,I have seen far worse than that with no character assassination in the aftermath. This rhetoric about this one is upset or that one is upset because Ace done this or Ace done that is frankly pathetic. Ace should just continue his progress and if he puts noses out of joint so be it. All that matters is Glasgow fans are mostly delighted with his progress the rest is just outside noise best ignored.

  8. wow we had one meeting and others have had more and you guys are getting on the teams back already.

  9. Well actually it is your words because you're the one spouting the bile on a public forum without quoting sources. Same as you did about him signing for Glasgow over other clubs last season. Maybe you should just leave the kid be eh? And I was standing same area as you on Friday and as others have said ace was ahead so this riding into the side of him you also spouted BS

  10. I think you’ve mentioned a few times now on here that Birmingham should pull out the league .. that won’t do the sport any good will it, or having lost Peterborough you don’t really care?

  11. People go on about Brums strength but that scorecard is littered with riders who could and should be doing better.

  12. Could have used different words considering what he done. Any promoter with half a brain cell, no matter how talented, shouldn’t touch him with a barge pole. If he was signed for my club, I’d go nowhere near no matter how much I love the sport.

  14. Looks like Give us a B is holding fire until tomorrow, I dread to think what his mood will be like having paid to watch what can best be described in an old fashioned way as Tripe .

  15. Any decent rider, IF available would only hold Brum to ransom and want guarantees rather than a performance related deal. Although Tolley did imply that money was not an obstacle in their team building before their full line up was declared. That was always going to bite him in the a*se and I wonder how comfortably he’s sitting lately!

  16. Ermolenko hasn't a clue about team tactics

  17. Must admit, I didn’t think it would be that easy for the Lions. Fricke continues to under perform but everyone contributed for the visitors, with either a win or paid win. I still think that Brum have one of the best reserve pairings (Flint is better than that tonight), but they have no top end or middle order! The assessed averages of their top two would appear to flatter them at the moment but they should be judged in a few weeks time when their actual average will reflect their performances. Dickson’s riding order shuffle will make him look clever tonight, but it would have made no difference to the meeting outcome. In his defence though, I admire him for looking to do something after consecutive home defeats.

  19. So Douglas misses the gate and throws it ? Should be excluded!

  20. Sadly, it was obvious from the moment all the other teams had their own heat leaders in place that Brum were going to struggle.. Every one of their riders are riding in a position (at least), one place up from where they should be.. And their two top riders are only on their "contrived" averages to make the team look competitive on paper.. Good job there wasn't eight teams in the league...

  21. Where's the grip on the track that they've spent loads on? It's a yawn fest!

  23. If Birmingham don't win tonight then they won't win a meeting all season. This is the strongest 1-7 Birmingham will put out all season.

  25. Like Norbold, I saw my first race at New Cross but a few months later in September 1960 when Wimbledon were the visitors. The race finished Moore, Tebby, Waterman, Luckhurst (fell) and I think that sadly, only Reg is still with us. I wonder how many people have seen the reigning world champion win the first ever race they ever saw. Okay, Ronnie Moore did relinquish the title when he was runner up to Ove Fundin at Wembley a few days later.

  27. From what I here it’s a far far better rider than him

  28. I'm with you on that. Brum won't win a meeting all season if they don't win tonight imo. Nicholls for Lampart is a massive bonus and they've also got Pawlicki in the side for the first time tonight.

  30. Definitely the right call. Heavy rain most of the day. Very windy and bloody cold. No way the track would have dried out. So correct call

  33. Looks like Celina Liebmann pulled out of the Italian Championships she was going to be riding in. Upon checking the results, was shocked to see a certain number 5 scoring 11 points and still riding! Maybe he can return to the comets on a 4 point average next season

  35. With both clubs being Friday night clubs , and with both BSN group matches needing to be restaged. I was wondering if both meetings could be ran on the same day , I.e . a Sunday , like we used to do with Newcastle

  36. Douglas, Masters and Lawson are all usually excellent around Perry Barr so the Brummies will have their hands full tonight i think.

  40. I assume he's hoping for potentially 4 5-1's as opposed to only potentially 2 with Fricke and Douglas riding at 1 and 5.

  44. Good result against an Edinburgh team I think is far better than most have given them credit for over the winter. From a Bandits perspective it was nice to see a last heat decider go our way and Rory certainly seemed to have the bit between his teeth tonight and gave Picko all he could every time they met and it was good to see him come out on top in the most important race of the night. As for the refereeing decisions, the rule change with jumping at the start means it has to be called back even if someone penalises themselves. I thought from where I was he got the other two correct, Jye looked to take a dive and the Heat 14 one looked like a typical first corner incident, however as with lots of decisions it is subjective and generally depending on what tint your glasses have on you will either agree or disagree.

  45. That’s an absolute nightmare. Gutted for Kerr. I saw an interview with him during pre-season where he spoke about having the opportunity to be an out-and-out number one in a very humble manner. So, even though we lost and he excelled at our expense, I was pleased for him on Saturday night. He didn’t just beat Harris three times. Not a single one was close. By the time Harris settled into second in each race, Kerr was long gone. Best wishes for a speedy recovery.

  46. I think any potential issue is with the newly awaited BCP Council 'Local Plan' which is currently in the 'public consultation' stage! The plan takes each council ward-by-ward and shows the Poole stadium site within the Poole Town Centre ward as a 'potential area for development'. This is no different to previous plans under the old Poole Council, and has no current planning applications attached to the site, despite part of the site (railway sidings and Stadium lorry park area) previously being suggested for housing, whilst retaining the stadium itself.. Generally the Council has said it does not want to lose any sports/leisure facilities, (it is currently working with Poole Town FC to source a new facility!) but nevertheless has targets for new houses/accommodation to be met over the next 15 years or so. Personally, I wouldn't see the Stadium site as a 'priority' area for development by the Council as there are several other sites identified across the whole B'mth/Christchurch/Poole area which I would see of higher priority. BUT a planning application could be submitted and fully funded by any third party partner ('cos the Council don't have the money!). It would be at that time that any protests and objections from speedway fans and anyone else against such developments would become necessary. The housing development market isn't that buoyant at the moment so I guess its WATCH THIS SPACE for the time being..............! In any case, it would likely be several years for any similar circumstances to come about, so as long as the rental of the stadium for speedway is kept at a reasonable level then I see Poole Speedway continuing for a good while yet. (Just my personal opinion!)

  47. it will only get worse as the lower limit is going to falsely inflate averages so the leagues "better" riders won't be as good as they were 10 years ago and the competition at the bottom will become poorer for it. British Speedway needs strengthening from the bottom up not top down if its to have any chance of surviving.

  48. The two Edinburgh riders are two of many in the ndl that will never be much good other than spending their or parents money chasing the dream, if they have fun that's all that matters.
