  1. I thought it was quite fair. If you think Leicester are changing £12.99 for a league meeting. £14.99 for an individual meeting with 20 heats and SF and final, is good value imo.

  2. What I saw of her last season, she will certainly give most of the reserves in the League a run for their money.Wish her well.

  4. No speedway stream should be more than £10 when you can a Championship football match for that price. I would’ve paid £10 but essentially £15 is too much.

  5. Bit surprised to see Celina Lieberman in this class field. Hope she does well, if she doesn’t she shouldn’t be judged too harshly.

  6. £14.99 for a stream online is absolutely scandalous in my opinion and will put quite a few off I would have thought!

  7. Every team has home advantage when conditions are unaffected by the weather. When it pi$$es down that home advantage is mostly lost and it becomes more of a leveller. That’s just common sense surely!

  8. A reminder to everyone. It’s a 7pm start tonight. NOT 19:30

  9. I am sure when I was younger if a promoter wanted to call a meeting off, they had to get a local ref to come along and confirm the track was unridable at that point, not what it might be like in 2 hours time, 10 hours times or 1 days time. However, the riders are by no means the innocent party in all of this, they have conditioned promoters to call meetings off earlier than they would have previously because they (the promoter) knows if the track isn’t perfect, the riders will simply refuse to race and force a cancellation that way. And the riders have that attitude because the bikes now can only be ridden at full throttle and there is no leeway. Recently in the star they had a piece on the silencers affecting the bikes, we had it with the solid block tyres, we have recently had it with the Anlas tyres being rubbish, why is the sport constantly going backwards in terms of the bikes? They are making the sport more expensive, less safe and less of a spectacle. I can’t think of one single benefit the modern speedway bikes have brought to the sport.

  10. 15 quid for a stream is an absolute robbery.

  11. I personally don't think it too bad a price to pay, a quality field, and a 6 man final, saves me a 300-mile £50 round trip and £25 admission money

  14. amazing what some fans find to moan about this is a class field GP standard and BSN providing a service for the fans who can't travel also the weather today is glorious dry spring sunshine so the track will be in great shape for these brilliant riders !!

  15. Is it though? Maciej could easily go missing, so could Tungate/Klindt. Dont think its that much personally

  16. Why aren’t all the efforts being put in to finding new land and building a new track? Yes I know it isn’t cheap, but all the talk this time last year was how deep the Purple man’s pockets were! Didn’t Carl Johnson (soon after buggering off) say they had land identified? Literally all the comments STILL on here are aiming digs at Buster, while Tomalin, Johnson, and the other members of the “consortium” (who were given full permission by Buster btw to negotiate with AEPG themselves) have gotten a free pass? Where is Ged Rathbone also by the way? Neil Watson has often told us that Buster didn’t in actual fact save Peterborough Speedway as Rathbone would have simply carried on if nobody came forward. Why isn’t he part of the consortium? Why isn’t he doing anything to help Peterborough’s plight now?

  17. Who cares… Many of the spectators will be young females. It is a positive and refreshing move by the promotion obviously echoed by Workington.

  18. Good meeting I thought. Especially for the BV riders! Ben Cook certainly on form from the off this season.

  20. Well our lady rider was not far of the pace in the Peter craven meeting, did not score a point but looked OK against the very big boys, her last ride was good, well done Celina, she will score points in the championship no bother

  24. An EFL iFollow stream is basically one camera synced up with local BBC radio commentary. It’s not comparable coverage at all, £10 for that is basically a con

  25. More demand for football ones though, so easy for them to make a profit charging less. Even Championship speedway streams are £11.99

  26. Extra heats than a league meeting and usually good value with the 6 rider final! Cheaper than attending in person and BSN usually good coverage. Invite a friend and split it!

  29. Quite true, this young man has been riding on the beach with Dan the Man and Brady Kurtz as well as putting in laps at Northside both on the track and round the small training track on a dirt bike. Tate and his mam have also been mucking in with ongoing work at Northside. Thoroughly impressed by their work ethic, quite refreshing.

  30. i do think its too much to pay to stream but think of a fan whos working today and has a 3 to 400 mile round trip might be worth it to some sadly im working tonight so cant make it or even stream it

  31. With all due respect to Becker who is a decent rider, this change makes the meeting more interesting. We’ve been watching Becker for years now and know all about him, Wojdylo not so much after only a brief stint with Peterborough.

  34. Agree with your points however, we will not ever visit KL again whilst Allitt and Chapman are there. Both cannot be excused for there support of AEPG closing the club and telling the fans over the microphone not to protest but roll over and let the club close.

  37. I presume you are talking about social media / elsewhere as I haven't seen anybody getting carried away on here. It was just nice to see Brum being competitive and not getting thrashed as that won't do them or the league any good. Nearly everybody thinks they'll be 7th and I don't think the other night changes that too much

  38. The media day is for the media (unsurprisingly) so it’s not open to the public. But there will be a live streamed press conference at 1pm hosted by Darren Fletcher featuring all of the top riders from each Premiership team which everyone can watch on British Speedway social media and YouTube. Fans will be able to ask questions too and a selection will be used.

  43. NO APPEAL FROM BRANDON ESTATES! As posted by the SCS group. WE have now received official confirmation that stadium owners Brandon Estates have not chosen to pursue a High Court challenge to the outcome of the recent planning inquiry. The appeal against the refusal of planning permission, arising from the November 2022 Planning Committee decision at Rugby Borough Council, was dismissed by inspector Helen Hockenhull in mid-January, after evidence from all parties had been heard last autumn. The remaining option available to the appellants would have been a Judicial Review based on a legal challenge (rather than a challenge to the decision itself). We understand speedway and stock car fans, and local residents, have been eager to know what might happen next, and there has been plenty of speculation; however, we had to wait for a six-week period to expire, which was the window in which the High Court challenge could be submitted. Recent correspondence with the Planning Inspectorate has confirmed there has been no challenge. We are naturally delighted that this marks the end of this particular part of the process, and also that our approach to each stage has been vindicated. We must once again place on record our thanks to everyone from the sporting and local community who stepped up in such spectacular numbers last summer to assist us with the cost of legal representation. Anyone who watched the planning inquiry, and will therefore now understand the way it was conducted, will have seen how being represented in this manner was crucial to our chances of success. Likewise to our witnesses and those who spoke in support of the stadium at the inquiry, your honesty and passion shone through under difficult scrutiny, and it is sincerely appreciated. There is now much for us to consider as a Campaign Group, doubtless with further meetings to be arranged over the coming weeks. At this stage it is too early to give any clear indication over what is to follow, or any timescales, other than to say that at every stage of the planning application we have worked through potential scenarios and considered our strategy under every likely circumstance. We thank everyone for their support – it has been hugely appreciated, and never more so than during the time of the Appeal – and can assure you that with this huge hurdle cleared, we retain an unstinting commitment to get speedway and stock car racing back to their rightful place at Brandon Stadium, and finally bring this saga to an end for the benefit of both the sports and the local community.

  45. Speedway is part of the entertainment industry, and a priority for any entertainment business is getting bums on seats. Celina will probably put more bums on seats than any other rider in the field, so of course she's there on merit. With the PCMT field usually being around GP standard, she'll struggle to pick up points, but she's certainly good enough to pick up points in the Championship for Workington in a second string/senior reserve role.

  46. It has been said that Buster bought them to save the Prem, and the TV deal. Rathbone was going to continue in the Champ if no buyer came forward i believe. There are a some Panthers fans that are starting to give MT a bit of stick on here lately, and rightly so imho.. I think some still don't, hoping he might come good one day, and don't want to pee him off. As you mentioned Johnson" buggering of " , i wonder what the Panthers fans would of thought of him, if his actions would of caused Chapman to shut up shop mid season. Maybe a cynic might think he did it thinking that it would put Buster in trouble, and help his mate MT get the club cheap/free, who knows?
