  2. Disagree with you entirely here. “ If you knew what I know about our female boss you wouldn't like her much And I've promised not to spill the beans” If you’re going to spout this sh!t about someone on a public forum then the right of reply on the same forum is fair game.

  3. Is this an actual 4.1 or an assessed 4.1?

  5. It's a tough one... Anything can happen this early in the season. I wonder how the track is, after all the rain? Edit.. Just seen the track on another tread, looks ok. Lets hope the weather plays ball

  6. Scott is universally liked and you know he'll give it everything, under the circumstances best that could happen at this late notice. Just shows the poor team building of this team, as has been said, not building around a decent number one was almost guaranteed to have this effect.

  10. No one is giving up, AEPG are clueless if they are thinking we are. The pressure is being kept on the PCC.

  11. Keep the pressure up on the Council to enforce the Local Plan. If a new stadium is required then AEPG should pay for it. AEPG wants everyone to give up. Don't give up.

  13. Probably due to LR's only possible replacement being Schlein. I don't buy his previous lengthy shortlist claim at all, I wouldn't be shocked if Brum were given special permission to run with Premiership Guests at No.1. Higher ups will have to do them a favour otherwise the league will be in chaos before it's even properly started.

  14. I believe this is just sour grapes as this poster has been told their services are no longer required with the new owners and are known a known trouble maker along with a few others whom thought they were very important but have actually been found out.

  15. Looks like it's a partnership between a local brewery (tractor shed ) and the comets, not promoting alcohol, just another sponsorship opportunity . Got to applaud the promotions forward thinking in getting different types of sponsorship

  16. Think we’ll win our opening meeting fairly comfortably, but I might change that prediction after we see how Belle Vue get on at Leicester on Thursday!

  17. I dont know... Some people on here, as usual, being quick to put the proverbial boot in.. Have any of you risked your lives stewarding for our entertainment? Thought not... And. If they don't have a good night stewarding they don't get a free brew and a burger... Or something like that... What is the Lions' Stewards Line Up this season? Not seen it anywhere... No wonder this sport is dying on its arse,.... They should bring back black leathers and monkey masks... And boiler suits and sawdust, etc etc etc, dribble, dribble...

  20. Precisely. It’s not as if this person who has had this accusation thrown against her name is anonymous, she’s been named! So that poster has then left people to speculate why she’s not a nice person. And then you get some on here with the audacity to question a right of reply on here and told it should have been kept off the forum! What about the original spiteful guff from “davieb1”? That’s ok, but dare to reply and that’s out of order and should have been a PM? Unbelievable. W9 Lion clearly knows why this poster is disgruntled, and has every right to put the record straight on this forum after the initial remark was also made on this public forum.

  21. That's the beauty of opinions. What I will say is that it looks like the hardest top league to predict for many seasons. And that assuming we are taking the Pawlicki situation at face value they are the one club (like Plymouth in the league below) who could really have done without their number one getting injured pre season.

  23. Yeah exactly. If it is a private letter should stay that way imo. If I wrote a letter to anyone I wouldn't expect to find it quoted on a forum without my permission. Same with PMs.

  25. It’s not a British speedway thing, but an Oxford thing, if you have several teams your going to have instances where your regular riders for one of your A or B sides turn up to race for the other side to take points off you. Doubling up has been around for years just that this is the first time where riders will be riding for another club at the track where they normally race for the home team, it does look a bit silly to be honest.

  26. Nicholls isn't guesting for Birmingham, he's a temporary signing. This situation will happen fairly often this year when Harris, Wright & Kerr race for their Championship teams & when Masters, Nicholls & Jenkins race for their Premiership teams.

  27. Scotty saving Rodger's backside for a couple of weeks, But the short term deal only papers over the glaringly obvious cracks that will eventually unfold. Scotty will be fully committed to his Eurosport/Discovery punditry work once the TV meetings start so Rodger's will have to look for a long term replacement for Pawlicki now rather than sitting around waiting for everything to officially go belly up because most Speedway fans know that the chances of Pawlicki showing up at all are minimal at best.

  28. Scott Nicholls in for Piotr Pawlicki on Thursday......

  29. Starting nearly 4 points under the limit it shocking, even for a Rodger’s built side

  30. For me yes. Nicholls though tbf guested at Foxhall last year and beat Doyle once and Emil twice and was great value!

  36. Well whatever information you've got, as you said your not going to spill so our opinions of Jen aren't going to change. Everytime I've seen her she's been helpful and friendly to me and my dad , the mysterious posts from yourself aren't extactly going to helping anyone so I'd either just say what you really want to say or nothing at all..

  38. The basic kevlars are the same but each one is covered in different sponsors, so non are alike. This also applies to bike covers, riders need the sponsors and many sponsors dictate their colours. There are a lot worse things going on in the world.

  39. The track is in good condition now but like we all know starting the season in Mid March is risky with the weather as tracks just do not dry very fast at this time of year but if back end of the week is ok all should be fine . If Wet on Wednesday for P&P it’s likely no on track action to save it for the next day. The Circus and Stunt show is on next to the stadium but have no shows on Thursday’s but do have two shows on Wednesday which may mean the car park is busier for P&P

  41. https://x.com/brumspeedway/status/1767217438683287720?s=61&t=WGGG_bqEEeOH78cfmD9Reg They do I agree. But two things ruin it. Firstly the obvious one, you can’t have one of your septet absent on press day, it completely ruins the whole point of the day and has made the promotion of the new season a farce. Pawlicki SHOULD have been there to fulfil media duties and commitments, have your “medical appointment” tomorrow ffs. Secondly, they should have also had matching bike livery like most other clubs do. That picture above looks a bit of a mishmash mess.

  43. Depends on how much said promoter takes the piss... everyone has a value and it should be acknowledged. And if the promoter is going to hand out below value offers he's just going to get rejection after rejection... not saying this is robs philosophy as I have no idea what goes on in the background but...

  44. So, with 4 days to go it seems to me that these are good times to be a Lions supporter. We have a new owner who has ploughed thousands into trying to remedy the track drainage problems, and whilst going about it, has installed a new training track to bring on the newcomers to the sport, and hopefully sustain speedway well into the future. We have a newly designed website that looks modern and has given the club a fresh new image; we have a new co promoter who has worked tirelessly throughout the winter to "get things done." Questions from the supporters to the management have been invited in preparation for press and practice day which suggests to me a new more open approach towards those of us that part with our hard earned week in week out. All it needs now is for us as supporters to get fully behind the new owner and co promoter and do our job in supporting the Lions for the new campaign. C'mon you Lions!!!

  49. I think they've done well to have a set of clear rules for the different foreign leagues, far better than what was previously the case. However they've already broken this new ruling with Celina Liebman signing for Workington on a 4.00 average, as she's ridden in the U24 Extraliga should be 5.00. Also interesting to see new foreigners can sign for a Prem side on a 3.50 average. Does that mean the minimum average for foreigners is no longer 4.00 & current riders can drop below that now?
