Spot on I put the blame totally at their doorstep. They continued to allow Osborne to sell off parcels of land over the years without any sign of a new stadium and never once put the required constraints to achieve that.3 points

It should have happened a couple of years ago but at least the licence has been revoked. The further Russell and Osbourne are away from any possible involvement the better. The Abbey is dead in the water. Osbourne wouldn't let the speedway back out of spite now anyway At least it gives a chance for a consortium to get together and put pressure on the council to provide a plot of land after their awful handling of the planning process at the Abbey3 points

FOR INFORMATION Just in case anybody uses public transport, there is an issue with the railway bridge over the River Derwent, which means there are no trains from the Carlisle direction. Rail Replacement Buses expected to used, so add an extra 30+ minutes to your journey time, trains from the Barrow in Furness direction are unaffected.2 points

Looking at the teams for a while now I’d say Ipswich look the team to beat best top 2 in the league with decent reserves and a solid middle order closely followed by Sheffield. 1. Ipswich 2. Sheffield 3. Leicester 4. Oxford 5. Kings Lynn 6. Belle Vue 7. Birmingham2 points

Best news in ages....Even if by a miracle Tr and Clark had got a track outside Swindon who would go anyhow..First of all its not Swindon and second who would want to give them two a penny..Hopefully now someone else can take up the fight to find a new home inside.Swindon .2 points

As I was reliably informed Russell has finally had his racing licence revoked . Taylor Wimpey being investigated, Orrible Osborne showing his true colours nationally and now this....I know this guarantees nothing but it's a positive at least , ridding the sport of Terry hopefully2 points

From what I've seen the shape is the same. It's more just digging it up and starting again so water doesn't sit on the inside line. Sam Masters said he couldn't get grip on it when he rode it and you could tell.1 point

Does bomber wear 7 race suits then takes one off after the team photo just in case he will be a guest in the future1 point

A handful of ex riders knew something was imminent when I chatted to them at the 'Celebration of Swindon Speedway' event late last year, I've been pushing the question to one or two individuals on the quiet but does appear to had been on the cards anyway1 point

Promotional rights are normally protected for 3 seasons so if you discount the 2020 covid season then this appears to be the case here.1 point

And won the Final at Coventry. The way he beat the 'Collins' brothers in his final ride was nothing short of sensational!1 point

And yet, the originator of the thread mentioned Greg Hancock himself in his opening post. Strange, eh?1 point

Nobody one would hope.Despicable crime he committed. he was a danger on the track anyway .IMO.1 point

Test Matches of 18 heats with 8 man teams, comprising 6 riders and 2 reserves..... no chance of ever seeing such meetings in the UK. With UK speedway now on a downward path to extinction, they can just about cling on to running a skeleton irregularly scheduled " league" programme during a March to October season. Last season saw unscheduled breaks in the league programme due to "cash flow " issues and clubs unable to field a competitive 7 man team. the p.offs were only just completed within the season. One competition was never completed at all. International Test Match organisation is well beyond the capability of whoever runs British Speedway in 2024.1 point

I like that idea... Could do the same with guests... Now, I get the "surprise" will invariably be Bomber, but on an odd occasion it would be someone else...1 point

Was a good suggestion/idea made on a Facebook post about press and practice day, that the 7th rider could be unveiled after riding round by taking his crash helmet off like the masked singer TV show take it off take it off and the 7th rider is ----------‐------ Steve lawson1 point

Osbourne has not broken the law, the planning conditions mean diddly squat when you are experienced in getting round them of which Osbourne is, hence that’s why he has carried on with Swindon regardless completely ignoring and planning conditions, councillors say one thing and do another, I have seen this twice in the last 2 months where a councillor has said one thing in a meeting and in the presss and then done exactly the opposite behind the everyone’s back, Swindon’s problem is the council not Osbourne, they have the power, do they use that power ?1 point

Think Celina will do ok at worky, from what I've seen live and on video, she seems to like the bigger tracks, but not to sure about some of the away tracks, Edinburgh and Plymouth1 point

Sorry if I came across wrong, but the young kids 16 and under are having a few races, and Celina, Katie Gordon and a couple of other ladies are having their own races, hope it clears up the confusion1 point

Perhaps there's something wrong with me but in my peak days of watching speedway - at Halifax in the late 60's and in the 70's - I attended religiously whether the team won or lost. It was entertainment, it was exciting and it was a way of life. Deciding not to attend because your team is losing is like stopping going to the cinema just because you happened to see three bad films on the trot.1 point

I guess (from the poster who asked the question) that it may affect Adam Ellis at least?!1 point

It is little wonder that speedway is in the state it is when so many just bang on about fractions of points. Averages are for team managers and promoters to worry about.0 points
