Have said it before, Doyle gets unfair stick. He has given the UK and world speedway nothing but 100 percent since he made his debt in Europe. He raced for Newport in 2011, had a knackered shoulder all season but still give nothing but 100 percent and put off getting surgery until after we had secured the KO cup trophy. Can be a little reckless on track but thats through over trying more than anything else. A brilliant rider and will be hugely missed once he retires. But I reckon thats still a while away and he will almost certainly be in the top 3 averages come the end of the season.5 points

Couple of points (a) I wonder if it's time to have a dedicated NORA section to make it easier to follow IOW and Kent (and anyone else who may join) (b) I suspect the Owner of Iwade can make as much money / more money from hiring out for Track Days and Practices as he can from renting to Kent ? (c) I hope that IOW and Kent and other dormant Clubs joining in with the NORA supported Fixtures WON'T be black-balled by the BSPL for doing so, should they wish to return. It seems Kent were very shabbily treated last season, as IOW have been in the past. Other dormant clubs currently too must NOT be penalised for riding under NORA supervision. Sadly the treatment of Kent and IOW suggests that the current BSPL hierarchy will do all they can to try to punish and prevent them from running successful operations under NORA. The Sport needs all the participant it can find and not helped by the petiness of the BSPL. At least there seems to be more friendly overtures from the ACU according to the Speedway Star this week.4 points

I'd say there is a very good chance that every single one of those riders will be doing the Polish Leagues on a Sunday and therefore unable/unwilling to ride on a Saturday over here.3 points

Yes, you can’t just limit it with a rev limiter, it has to be made so the actual engine can only reach 10,000, then put the rev limiter on, a maximum lift on the cam is one way and is not to hard to police either, the effect on the racing would of no detriment, would it make it better ? Who knows, up till around 2010 it was around 10,000 but in the last 14 years it has gone up and although hardly anybody hits the current limiter except maybe at the start line but it’s those extra revs which are killing the tyres, despite what people think and how it appears speedway in real speed terms is no faster than it was 40 years ago, I posted about this last year, at Sheffield the fastest time of the season was the same time as Chris Morton in 1985,Ricky ashworth still holds the track record there from 2010, the speed has increased on the straights but the speed has decreased slightly in the corners but the back wheel speed has increased significantly but the bike speed hasn’t , it seems the faster the track the more the speed stays the same,2 points

Can see your thinking but meetings cost money to promote/run and whilst riders will gladly turn up for this event I am sure they will need some costs to be met , plus this field of riders looks like being one of the best so far in the history of the event. The UK is going through a cost of living crisis and while there is not much difference between £20 and £23 the effect over a few thousand people is massive and will go a long way in helping riders now and in the future.2 points

You only need one bike per rider. You only need one bike rack per rider (on the back of your Cortina). You only need one tyre per rider (and a Stanley knife). You only need one helmet per rider. Those were the days...2 points
-
You need 4 helmets cause god forbid you have to change a helmet colour between races and a rack to hang them on, a fridge for you energy drinks cause as we know health and fitness is important these days and nothing says health better than energy drinks and don’t forget your tin of snus, multiple clutch coolers and one special person to hold one infront of your face, think it’s a matter of time before one rider has his music decks in his pit bay so he can “drop a few tracks”to help him relax before his races, you need to one member of your crew who arranged a flight to another track to stand there making sure he is in every TV shot, he has no mechanical knowledge whatsoever and doesn’t do a damn thing but when it is pointed out to him he has a list of excuses why he should be there, it goes on and on, maybe I was wrong? each rider should have 20 pit crew each2 points

I just wonder what makes more business sense now. A weaker team on Saturday nights or Tuesday nights with one of the named riders at no.1? Seems whatever Plymouth do goes against them1 point

Cud be if your not scoring well at Kings Lynn and Poland your confidence is down, then you don't have the easier ? league to gain confidence again, we all know Poland will drop you like a ton of bricks if you don't perform1 point

Speedway is part of the entertainment industry, and a priority for any entertainment business is getting bums on seats. Celina will probably put more bums on seats than any other rider in the field, so of course she's there on merit. With the PCMT field usually being around GP standard, she'll struggle to pick up points, but she's certainly good enough to pick up points in the Championship for Workington in a second string/senior reserve role.1 point

No chance, I'm going to Leicester until Panthers are hopefully resurrected.1 point

It’s a development league with only 5 home matches, it isn’t about winning it’s about finding some new riders before the sport disappears altogether.1 point

To some degree you are correct but perhaps you have the old ‘rose tinted spectacles’ on as a former rider. Times have changed and we all know it’s not for the better. Riders have promoters by the round things, they have all the aces and dictate just about everything now which is why the sport is dying a slow death. The promoters hands are tied if they want to attract a very demanding crowd these days and it’s a catch 22 situation. Having clowns who are self interested at the top isn’t going to change things.1 point

As theres ages before the first fixture there is no rush , maybe someone is coming out of retirement? Having an old average reassessed ? Having a new average reassessed to fit him in ? ( like Edinburgh ) . Edward Davison was head and shoulders above Gordon last season and was lined up for Belle Vue so someone rates him .Goldsbrough not having ridden since he broke a wrist early season and wasn't seen again although he is a club asset, unlike Davison or Gordon.1 point

Why on earth is Celina liebmann riding in this meeting when it's stopping one of the young lads maybe from riding?.Also feel sorry for Workington as they will definitely have at least one weak reserve.it is what it is I guess but wouldn't,t be too happy if I was a worky supporter.1 point

And if Buster hadn't signed them, another club would have.As a point of interest Puk has ridden more seasons for the stars than the panthers, Ben Basso was rumoured to be coming last year anyway, we've got our team manager back, and Buster put his hand in his pocket to sign Tarasenko and woydlo last season anyway,so why shouldn't he have first option. If your rich fairy godfather had put his money where his mouth is and used the land he supposedly had access to to build a track you might have been running next season. If it wasn't for buster you wouldn't have had the dads army title winning team, the panthers would have either folded or been in the championship!1 point

Hope you get a great crop of Lemons this year.............. cos you are sure going through existing stock at a considerable rate of knots!!!1 point

I wouldn't visit KL even if they had a top three of Zmarzlik, Sayfutdinov and Woffinden. I will never allow myself under any circumstances to line the pockets of a guy who's assisted bully boy's in demolishing our home. Ipswich, Leicester or Scunthorpe which ever local track you choose to visit this forthcoming season you can at least have the comfort in your own mind that you're not caving in to the trap set by Buster to lure you down to the AFA to support familiar faces (That's my logic anyway). If you do go to King's Lynn then Buster wins because he only has to pay for 7 riders instead of 14 whilst getting the biggest attendances he's had at the AFA in recent memory which translates to.......A higher financial income for a lower financial outlay. Never forget that we didn't even have our own funeral before he started signing up most of our 2023 team whilst not even bothering to photoshop images of riders either whilst every other club did when it come to their 2024 signing announcements.1 point

He had a decent season in Poland last year. Can travel to Poland by air quicker than getting Worky by road I would imagine.1 point

No, might visit Ipswich, Leicester and Scunthorpe on the odd occasions, but definitely not Kings Lynn.1 point
-
His average would probably fit, around 5.5 I think , but I thought I'd read somewhere that he was only doing kings Lynn and Poland, to me it's another British youngster that's hanging on to try and make it in Poland rather than put the miles and effort doing 2 leagues in the UK.1 point
-
It's possible he improved racing in Sweden, but he struggled to average 4 when last over here with Scunthorpe, looks a weak signing with 6+ available imo1 point

Doyle is one rider who gives his all for his league racing which is why he has been top Aussie for many a season. There isn’t another Aussie in league racing that is as committed to UK racing or as good at league level. Holder (Jack) and Fricke will probably finish with a lower 2024 average again.1 point
-
Probably the closest the league has looked in some time, any of 6 clubs can make the top 4, with possibly only Ipswich 99% certain to make it?1 point

The best way for Panthers fans to say FU to Buster is by temporarily cheering on / supporting Ipswich (Permanently if we never come back) while we're not operating as a club. Fans very rarely walk away from the Sport because it's a Sport fans hold close to their hearts and it's a Sport they truly love hence the reason why fans always end up attending another local track regularly if their club closes, Swindon fans at Oxford as a recent example and you'll see Wolves fans flocking down to Birmingham on a regular basis this season. If any Panthers fan is desperate to see some live Speedway then they should head down to Foxhall and help Chris Louis and co. out financially on their gate instead of falling for Buster's blatant plan of trying to lure Panthers down to the AFA and help his beloved KL out with their declining attendances by signing as many Panthers riders as possible while he assists his AEPG buddies in bulldozing the Showground. Ipswich will be King's Lynn's biggest local rivals now so that's another reason to stick two fingers up in Buster's face. As far as I'm concerned any Panthers fan who attends a meeting at the AFA for the foreseeable future is not only gullible for falling into the trap set by Buster but they're also part of the problem for letting Buster get away with his actions by continuing to line his pockets with their hard earned cash.1 point

You lot can say what you want but we all know that Chapman and co shafted us..and now they have rubbed our noses in it by poaching all our ex riders, manager (never liked him anyway) and other parts of our once great track. I am done with Speedway and I hope Kings Lynn fail badly.1 point
