  1. Edinburgh joining the NDL have been the absolute worst, how do they have so much influence? We won't run if we can't have Hook, our teams garbage but if you up the limit a little we can squeeze in a half decent rider. Perry has been available all winter they could have just opted against Watson or Wood. Might not be the ones driving them into the NDL coffin but they have been providing plenty of nails.

  4. On the other hand they are probably one of the best in the UK for trying to bring up young riders. Started the monarchs academy which now has over 10 riders all from the age of under 10 to around 12 years old. Have two teams in the northern junior league and we were one of the main teams pushing to continue the NDL but apparently we are the problem.

  5. Got to wonder how many teams would have signed different riders if they had another 0.25 to play with?

  6. Bit ironic that there is an agreement to increase the team building averages by 0.25 to allow a young British rider the chance to ride this year when there is an Australian in the team. 8f we want to encourage young Brits do we need overseas riders taking places in the NDL?

  7. It’s a development league. A 16 year old kid going to miss out cause of 0.05 of an average. Common sense for once has actually been used.

  8. And people wonder why the sport is seen as a joke!

  10. If the rest of league agree we could have dan bewley on a false low average,if only we had a past chairman who was friends with the current chairman

  11. Sorry, don't know how I missed him. Thanks. Just scary to think of riders of his/my generation leaving us...

  13. Thats some intelligent additive that you put it in a tank of fuel and it knows to work at its maximum effect at the startline.

  14. I think at this stage if Claus Vissing was available and within the budget he would have been signed , so cannot see why we would break the bank to sign him now.

  20. Not really bothered ,but why did no one sign him to start with and build accordingly.Seems strange to alter the rules now.Glad he got spot though ,he’s got more potential than a lot of others.

  21. Please tell me the local riders we didn’t want then?

  22. That's a little bit dramatic. I don't have a problem with it personally. It's a sensible decision and it's hardly going to turn the competitive order of the NDL on its head. If Max didn't have an NDL ride, it would really undermine the point of the league. This is one of the better accommodations the authorities have made, for me.

  23. Cause you can’t put 10 year olds in the NDL on a 125cc can you. Also no local riders riders available, obviously you’ve not got much of a clue.

  24. Yes, I mentioned earlier in the thread about Osbourne & the smarmy Gareth Hooper. Both trashed the sport & said it wasn't viable at the inquiry. Irony anyone? Russell didn't look particularly healthy when I saw a picture of him a few months ago either using a walking stick. You have pretty irrefutable evidence of a stitch up but the BSPL won't do a thing. Same at Peterborough where Chapman has no intention of doing anything to save the club but gets to hold onto the licence.

  25. It's all a bit silly isn't it? The SGP already ran sprint races - 23 of them in fact. This is quite aside from the fact that track conditions are going to change between qualifying sessions, so the session you're drawn in is going to influence the selection order for those that don't qualify for the 'sprint race'. Regardless of what's being claimed, it's not going to be the same for everyone. Then there's the 'sprint race' itself. What happens if those four riders wipe each other out before the GP starts? In MotoGP you've got far more riders in a race and you can't get them all on the front grid, so timed qualifying is one of the fairer approaches to lining them up, especially as you can put all the riders in one session where the conditions will be the same for everyone. Speedway - for precisely the reasons it takes place on a much smaller track and only has a small number of riders in each race as a result, has evolved a multi-race all-out sprint format. If you really wanted to add some interest to practice, add some extra wildcards and have them race-off for a couple of places in the GP proper.

  28. Personally think it's a brilliant decision to up the limit so max can get a team . Let's be honest none of the leagues teams would have built any different to what they did any way so it can't be a bad thing.

  29. I didn't realise this until you posted, but even worse than i thought. Nothing revolutionary, as they try to state. 4 riders on track at the same time doing a sprint over 4 laps. Which if i am correct, and my memory not failing me, as it has been a few years since i attended a meeting now, is what used to be called in the old days a heat. The fastest rider wins, just like in the old heats..... Trying to make a silk purse out of a pigs ear here

  30. You have put your prediction upside down. Easy mistake to make even in fun.

  31. excellent point hopefully discovery will read it and abandon the idea. my take on 'sprint races' in F1, Moto GP and WSB is that they're required because the full length races are dull and they need to fill 3 days content. Only in speedway could the sprint race be the same distance as the normal race.
