  4. They have a rider who just won the Australian title, not sure how he can be regarded as a second string, Magic may not be as good as some of the number ones now but he will still do a great job for the team and Bomber is still a heat leader in my view, Klindt is a great gater and will win many races. I think this team are play off certainties.

  5. I really like the look of the Oxford team. Got a good number one, then 4 third heat leaders / strong second strings. Plus Lewis Kerr as a fabulous reserve. I think this is where Oxford biggest strength is, I'd rate Kerr above second strings such as Blodorn, Z.Cook, Rew, Palm-Toft & Howarth. To me they are certainly play-off candidates, but so are the other 5 completed teams. Hopefully set for a very exciting season.

  6. This is a good team and will make the play offs with ease,Janowski a spent force is a ridiculous comment. Harris has proved over and over again he can do it at this level, he is still a top rider in this league, Kerr is the best reserve, Tungate,Klindt and Wright will all hold their own at least, I think the Oxford track will suit them.

  7. Not sure what you're asking here my comment was in answer to the joint Sheffield scunthorpe team winning the league . And never said riders getting beat every week would be better . I said if my rider is better at the end of the year than the beginning I'm not to bothered on who wins the league

  9. When I was learning to ride I always liked to go out on track with lads faster and more experienced than me so I could follow their lines and chase them down, made me push myself and ride like those who were better than me... therefore I became a better rider as a result. Pointless going out and beating wobblers and ending with a 12.00 average if I'm the same rider I was at the beginning of the season because I've not had to push myself at all. If anything the post that you quoted is full of ambition for his son (Luke Harrison) to get better as the season progresses against tougher opposition. At this level rider progression is far more important than shiny trophies (although both would be nice)

  12. Rate Vaculik highly, but he was outperformed by Jack Holder in the GP's last season and I really don't think he'd be on the level of Doyle/Emil in UK straight away, really hope Brum have got him tho would be another great asset for UK speedway in 2024!

  13. Don't be so gullible!!! The team was sorted before Christmas! Craig Cook knew the team before his interview! END OF DISCUSSION

  14. Jan Gravesen won the Kenny Smith Memorial meeting I remember that was like a mud bath and very winter ISH conditions. Scott Nicholls had a hissy fit and left after 2 of his rides. https://speedwayupdates.proboards.com/thread/7360/kenny-smith-memorial-scunthorpe-2010

  15. Taffy is indeed retiring and will close his doors around Easter. As for the speedway his voluntary contribution shouldn't be underestimated, especially in the early days after the sport returned to Shielfield and while under the Peter Waite promotion.

  16. I'm hoping Vaculik but I'm not sure at all... Always rated him highly and he often seems to be forgotten about. He's ridden in this country before too if I'm not mistaken so kinda knows what he's getting himself in to. If he's the number 1 it'll be decent. I'm guessing with the inconsistent comment above me that the other may be one of the Pawlickis? 1. Martin Vaculik 2. Zach Cook 3. Steve Worrall 4. Tom Brennan 5. Piotr Pawlicki 6. Wiktor Lampart 7. Leon Flint If it is something like this, and that's meant to be the weakest team in the league roll on March!! The league hasn't looked stronger in years imo

  21. Good because Sheffthorpe won't win it either A lot can be learnt by getting beat, but getting hammered home and away is going to do little for some riders reputations and poor management selections can actually prematurely finish careers.
