If Thomsen was signed on a 7 or 9 i would agree however he is on a 4, hardly the end of the world is it?2 points

They are all getting a bit exciting over Thomsen but he is only a 4 pt man and if he rides to his average don’t see much wrong with that Team compared to others that have been named at this point.2 points

Will team changes be on the agenda if Buster has to payout the 35k , Tarasenko and Wojdylo out , Jorgensen and Simon Lambert in ?2 points

I would suggest Howarth will be come the end of the season, he will be much improved at Scunny after a poor season all round for Plymouth.1 point

This seasons scores in the Danish 2nd division would seem to suggest otherwise. He seems to have.matured and improved!1 point

I've looked through the 2024 fixtures several times and can't see this fixture anywhere... I'm sure it's just a simple oversight1 point

That four hour period restriction ends at 8pm. So as long as you arrive after 4pm (and who doesn't?) you'll be OK as parking time after 8pm is unrestricted.1 point

Looked fine when I saw him this year (first appearance) plus riding there every week would help him. I'd be happy with his signing.1 point

The Ford's are hardly going to be honest and say we couldn't get anyone decent in with the points available so we had to settle for Thomsen. Personally if they knew they was going to end up with Thomsen then I don't think they would've signed Brennan because a Rowe/Newman combo would be better. Their was a lot of talk about a 4.00 Aussie on this thread which suggests the Ford's thought they would get one + Brennan but it all went belly up.1 point

The Fords aren't daft they wouldn't have signed Thomsen if they didn't think he was going to perform and even if he doesn't they'll have a plan B up their sleeve to make sure come October they'll be in the Playoff final once more.1 point

I agree, why do people have to air their dirty laundry in public.Need to sort things out properly before bringing it into the public domain imo.1 point

Ha ha...being an 'Heathen', you'd probably recognize the pit-falls even more...you've been spoilt over the years ... great teams/great riders/great race track.... I loved my Saturday nights at Dudley Wood as a kid! Good Old Days!....'wipe-out'!1 point

Wait until you see Thomsen live then you'll see what I mean, Plus you won't be able to get a decent replacement in either because the HL's averages will go up in a weakened Championship. Home track advantage means nothing imo when you've got two reserves with limited experience whilst having a dreadful Dane on a false average at No.2 who's real average is much lower than the 4.00 you've signed him on, Take out his one double figure score for Brum then this is what his scores were. 3+2 0 2+1 2+1 3+1 2 1 3 3 21 point

Moral of the story is i should not post tired. No rider that i have ever spoken to has been charged to ride on IOW, they do need a Nora licence and then are rewarded per point at a fair (lower then NDL) rate.1 point

Things that most likely put the neutral off going (as already mentioned) Traffic is dire in the area. Viewing (outside) is poor Track has been inconsistent since Terry left (but 'hooray', he's back next year) Things that most likely put the 'Home/Brum' fans off : Poor sides assembled over the last 2 seasons!!! Hoping it's not going to happen this season!? P.s If you dont mind a 5/10 mins walk, there's plenty of street parking if people make the effort to look !?1 point

Yea. It can put people off. After a long day at work ........... a lot of people are probably up to their hassle limit. Perhaps a lot feel it's not worth the extra effort. The latest estimate of Birmingham’s population is the 2021 population census estimate. There are 1,144,900 people living in Birmingham according to the census.1 point

Yes, Thomsen is just that bad and I can't see the 2.00 pointers being able to cover for him. 4.00 points used on a guy who couldn't score more than 3 for Brum apart from 1 meeting.1 point

I will say this until I’m in court. Ask @Bald Bloke - he will vouch how honest I am1 point

Basic sense says that proving a decent product generates a decent crowd and helps make the league sustainable. Giving riders team spots because of links to the club rather than ability is flawed. The IOW dont charge riders to ride, they generate a product where rider levels are closer and have a track which produces good racing. The NDL could easily do the same but teams are still being built with heavy heat leaders and new 3 point rookies so the same mistakes are made over and over again.1 point

Aside from the discussion of Brennan & Thomsen vs Rowe & Newman. What about S.Worrall & Roynon, that would have come to 37.99. Roynon's surely no worse than Thomsen, but Worrall for Brennan is a decent upgrade imo.1 point

Can't see Poole even making the play-offs with their balls up signing of Thomsen. Redcar, Scunthorpe, Oxford and Workington will all look stronger.1 point

Would like to see some new blood in main body of team. Impressed with Workington and Berwick to date.1 point

No idea, but whatever the rights and wrongs that is incredibly cringeworthy and doesn't do anyone any favours.1 point

Fantastic when I saw him in Muerek last year, beating the likes of Rasmus Jensen, MJJ , Berge, Cierniak and Huckenbeck1 point
-
If that were true, why not give Katie Gordon the number 7 spot? Obviously they want to sign someone stronger, so winning does come into it. Clubs will still want to be competitive - not suggesting this would happen to Redcar, but if a team got thrashed every week & no fans turned up, leading to the club pulling out the following season, there would be even less spaces for developing riders.1 point
-
The big difference with Jye’s end of season upturn in form was I believe down to a change of engine tuner. On his day, he has and can beat anyone around Shielfield. And I’m fairly sure the Stewart Dickson presence will keep him under no illusion as to his future if he doesn’t perform.1 point

Zach is improving all the time, I think there is a fair bit more to come and he could add a half a point to his average next season but have a feeling Ben will continue to be the better brother.1 point

Not sure what Joe is gaining still racing at this level. Yes he’s getting laps in, but will have very little racing, especially at home.1 point

3 NDL meetings at Edinburgh at the end of the 2021 season, is 3 NDL meetings at Edinburgh at the end of a season. Not enough to gain an average. A full season at Belle Vue is a full season at Belle Vue. As I said, the only full season he's had. A season where he went from 3.00 to 5.29 which is pretty decent. He crashed out in his first meeting of 2023, and made 1 guest appearance in the last match of the year.... So still only completed 1 full NDL season. It's not difficult to understand. I didn't say he'd become heat leader standard. In his only full season he increased his average by 2.29 which is very decent.1 point
-
Zach will be a heat leader at this level, all riders at his average have bad meetings otherwise they would be 8 point average.0 points
