When we were in the NDL we didn’t seem to have the absolute nonsense that we’re already starting to see on this thread !? Funny enough now we are back in the championship the lunatics are back. Don’t know if it’s because people take it more serious or what but I’ve noticed some nutters on Facebook too, anyway all publicity is good publicity as they say. In Cook we have a genuine out and out number one. A local rider who should be and now is riding for his local club. Craig will benefit from riding at Workington and we will see what we all know he can do I have no doubt about it. Sam had a great year and another year around the NS track will do him good. Great start for us and I’m sure things will come together nicely. Get them airhorns at the ready, Cmon the Comets!3 points

@Supersteady1984 you are beginning to look like the village idiot of worky, unless you are related to the last one on here @jengaj time to move on3 points

We were told we’d have a fresh look to the team in 2024 after a poor 2023. However so far and with what is rumoured we seem to have back tracked on this.2 points

History repeating itself, I fear. Assembling a similar looking side to last year, if rumours are to be believed and there are no suprises. Is the hope just ‘the whole league will be weaker, so a similar team should do better’?2 points

I think that song from 'FROZEN' is quite appropriate for several of the posts on here "Let it go, Let it go"!?2 points

I'm not sure Josh was too impressed with the situation Cookie left him and the rest of the team in last season so i'd be surprised if he wanted to ride with him again.1 point

Think promotion need to announce our number one (if signed). We can’t afford to have another season like 2023. Why bother to bring Bastian over last season to lose out on him in 2024. Don’t think Richie Worall scenario has helped our team building.1 point

Can’t argue with that one bit. I’ve met some great people on here over the years and I’ve also seen some crazy comments!1 point

Part of the job but probably the enjoyable part! If you can cut down on the travel helps the pocket too1 point

Would be happy with Riss but don’t think he will be in UK next season. Would rather we went with Bastian and a new 5.00 than Lasse and Thomas. Makes no sense to bring Bastian over this season then not use him next season.1 point

Yea but in the past had to do the travelling for every home meetings as well, if your not in the correct frame of mind, doing this for a job, takes it toll, as has happened in the past unfortunately, hopefully with the correct diagnosis things will be better this year1 point

Part of the job though. I would have thought you would have to kinda like travelling to do this career.1 point

If it wasn't in his interest he'd have let us go under, although, as has been said, we wouldn't have. Fair point that Rathbone perhaps didn't have to sell to Chapman but for some reason he did? The club statement in April explained that it was nothing to do with Tomalin and his mouth (although sealing the deal before opening it would have been preferable); "Over the winter there was an on/off scenario whereby the club may have changed hands. However, given the uncertainty over the longevity of Peterborough Speedway, it was understandable that a sale did not take place". Which brings us back to the start about what has Chapman done all year to save the club and placate those ungrateful >>>>>>>>? Bugger all on the face of it, although not upsetting AEPG during the campaign is sensible I'm led to believe, so there is a bit of slack there but being the AEPG communications officer was a bit too far. However, from Oct 31 and after subsequently clearing what he was told to remove from the EoES, one assumes that the gloves are off so we await his statement to placate us and justify your Buster love in.1 point

To a certain extent I bet Buster's son wishes he got away from his Dad earlier than he did lol.1 point

Scunny fan here really hope Cooky finds his form and Workington have a successful transition into the Championship1 point

Osbourne is a business man nothing more nothing less and his decisions/opinions are based on money, when you get the higher up the money chain you find morals and scruples get less and less, people like him would stamp on their own Nan to get the money, if speedway was in a better financial state he would change his stance, he doesn’t break any laws he just doesn’t do or say anything in favour of speedway cause it’s not making him money1 point

Ged has said numerous times the club would've continued and Chapman only purchased it to keep the Elie league alive1 point

I wouldn't mind betting that To a certain extent Buster wishes he'd just let you bunch of ungrateful b@stards go under when Ged Rathbone had had enough, rather than keep the place going. If Tomalin had put his money where his mouth is last winter you could all be blaming him now., you could have " enjoyed" Chris Holder for the season aa well .Can't blame Buster for not showing up at the rally, I wouldn't have either if I'd been slagged off that much.1 point

Imagine all the hysteria here over not having announced more names and then they announce Bickley. There’d be a meltdown.1 point

I think the goal may have been for a third tier with no standalone clubs for a while. Arguably that has cost the sport Mildenhall and Kent as tracks and forced Workington to move up. Ironically the lowering of the points limit and stricter doubling up rules in the third tier could have made things more viable for those clubs and the likes of Buxton and the Isle of Wight. It would have opened up more team spots for young riders too.1 point

Technically only two and a half heat leaders with any effect are missing from the Championship. You can’t really count Andersen (performance) or Tarasenko (late comer). So it’s only Basso, Douglas and the two bad boys who are missing….and one of them can return in June. Have I missed anyone?1 point

He's very good at interviews & tells us what a good bloke he is & how successful his company is, why else would anyone invest their millions in his ventures. Then theres the cold light of day when Mr Osbourne has done nothing in 3/4 years & he still has the investors money. some will be returned but whilst he has had it he has been using it to make himself even more profits. He is a conman A very good one but a conman all the same.1 point

Delighted to have Jake back integral part of the club. Arguably our best "team rider," as he demonstrated on more than the odd occasion when paired with Nathan Abliit last season. In next seasons Championship he can definitely up his 7.16 average.1 point

Glad Kemp has got a spot for '24. He seemed to mature a little last year at Scunthorpe and in his PL appearances hopefully he can continue on the upward curve. Interesting to read he was happy to miss Championship as he wanted to concentrate on Poland but then was talked round by Dickson.1 point

Sorry I wasn't expecting you to explain your self I just wondered if you new him , I met him once at Newcastle when I was down he's a very nice young lad and was happy to chat with me about speedway I was also looking forward to supporting him at Berwick but we lost him to injury in the first heat of the season, and I'm sure Archie won't be the only rider to have a car tattoos or mechanical issues I've seen lot's fail to complete a race at every level as I'm sure you have your self, Archie may not remember me from our chat but I very much remember him and wish him well with his returning season and hope to make the trip down to support him at Redcar. Kind regards John1 point

No money changed hands apparently, allegedly Butterfield (shrewdly knowing that retirement beckons for his PR man) promised Chapman a place if needed in the older person’s Care Village - within the 280-bed care home, to provide supported care, which will be built in The Care Village. If ever part of the project isn't going to see the light of day then that'll be it. Only an unsubstantiated rumour of course. We're still awaiting Chapman's version of events for his sterling efforts throughout the 2023 season regarding the future Peterborough Speedway. At the same time of course as keeping an eye out for Hell freezing over.1 point

That's a step in the right direction. Buster wouldn't even turn up, He'd be too busy counting the rest of the money that AEPG gave him after using a chunk of it to fund KL's 2024 side.1 point

I tried putting a laughing emoji to your post but it won't let me do any now for some reason. But you are totally correct. He simply doesn't seem to believe anyone's opinion counts, only his own.1 point

I hope Rob has all the influence over the team building etc.I can't take to Allitt like many people. He seems quite smug, and i don't like the way i have heard him speak to people neither, especially the fans who pay good money to come in.He has to realise those people are allowed opinions too.1 point

So I’ve just read had hoped he’d departed along with Jorgensen to pasture new unfortunately only Jorgensen has gone out of the two - Really hope this 2024 is Robs and Allit plays no part in it over the season1 point
