Jake's a very frustrating rider as he'll come out beat the likes of Harris, Masters and Nicholls etc but then will come out in his next heat and lose to the opposition number 7. He's part of the furniture at Scunthorpe though and will do his usual 7 average.2 points

I thought they'd leave Steve to last, but I guess it doesn't matter when we all seem to know the team!2 points

Glad Kemp has got a spot for '24. He seemed to mature a little last year at Scunthorpe and in his PL appearances hopefully he can continue on the upward curve. Interesting to read he was happy to miss Championship as he wanted to concentrate on Poland but then was talked round by Dickson.2 points

How he rode for Birmingham last year is irrelevant. Claus Vissing was shocking for Birmingham in 2022 and this year was excellent for us. Lee Complin's signing was criticised by many yet in the play-offs his points and aggressive riding were crucial in us reaching and winning the league title. Glasgow know how to treat their riders and provide them with an excellent track to allow them to show their skills. The aim this year must be to win all our home meetings and then reach the play-offs. Paul will help us do just that.1 point

Delighted to have Jake back integral part of the club. Arguably our best "team rider," as he demonstrated on more than the odd occasion when paired with Nathan Abliit last season. In next seasons Championship he can definitely up his 7.16 average.1 point

The BL has a lot to offer, a half decent pay packet and virtually zero pressure, that's why I believe a lot of riders have returned, it seems to be more "fun" over here, which is what most got into the sport for in the first place. Fortunately DSE are doing their level best to destroy the GP series and that can only be a good thing for league Speedway in the UK. Magic has returned for next season and I fully expect him to excel in a pressure free environment. The TV money that clubs get in the top league, I am led to believe, should go a long long way to covering the expense of a Number 1, Birmingham may be using that money to subsidise their (possibly) suicidal move back into the top league.1 point

With a 38 point limit, every rider in the league should put half a point on their average. So adding a point won't be as hard as previously.1 point

I’ve enjoyed my recent visits to watch the Lions at Brum and I hope that they make a real go of it next season. I’m trying to see through all of the negativity on this thread but the Brum supporters aren’t stupid and are very realistic about next season based on recent history. Everyone has them down for the wooden spoon in 2024. If the club’s financial predicament is as fragile as we are led to believe, seventh position may be an achievement as it would mean that they have completed the season.1 point

The banter years might be making a return. Just wish we had the balls to have made the move up.1 point

I think I've worked it out. Bomber knows the guest appearances are going to dry up, so he's making sure he can get a tac sub ride every meeting to compensate.1 point

BWD would be a terrible signing imo. If he struggles, he wouldn't get an average till they raced 8 of their 16 league matches, season could be over before they have the opportunity to strengthen up. Even then you'd expect the rest of the side to up their averages (teams should rise from 38 to 42) so even if he dropped 2 points, wouldn't mean they had 2 points available to replace him with. I'd go for Matthew Wethers before BWD.1 point

Why would he not stay with the club who put a lot of faith in him last season? Lazy to just trot out the money line.1 point

He hadn't t been out for ANY seasons. He has ridden every season, just not in the UK. So no 8% deductions applicable.1 point

I have read Worrall is bound for Glasgow ? But either way I believe we will need two top enders to go up against it in Heat 15. That team imo does lack that bit extra needed in final heats ?. Tofty never quite hit form last season mostly I would suggest down to injury and a lengthy absence. He could up the anti this time around ? I think it would be a mistake to not to go with Jake on 7.16. I would be disappointed if so as he is great to watch around Scunny and arguably our best "team rider". I get the point of a solid looking 1-7 but it will be those with 2-3 top riders who set the pace in this "remodelled" Championship. I'll take a punt and say this weeks reveal will be Jake Allen1 point
