Only good thing about him coming back would be the BSN commentary from roynon at Plymouth meetings.3 points

Tough draw for Plymouth against the cup holders, would have been easier against Poole. Scunthorpe with howarth and Allen both go well at Plymouth and never say die skipper lambert should be a good match up.2 points

Was never going to anywhere else, I don't actually think he's the best signing on his average (3.17 I think) Will just be competing against all the new 2 point riders in the league some of who are arguably better Suppose it's a bit of loyalty shown by Glasgow.2 points

Aslong as racing is good that should be enough People who only go to watch a winning team are not fans of the sport2 points

Hey, I know how passionate you are about the Club...I know you've travelled the length and breadth of the country to support them. I really respect that. I also respect you have the right to your opinions about Sam.... But I choose to compliment him on his honesty about learning the ropes, as opposed to criticizing his personality for sounding 'dull' (your words..) I agree that there are most likely better choices out there as a TM, but I doubt many of them have the same 'rider/track' knowledge that Sam has got! Sam is a legend to the sport in my 'rose-tinted' glasses and regardless of any restricted vision...I back Sam to get the best out of whatever team is assembled!2 points

Why would I need to know him? He was being discussed on the thread and I gave an opinion based on the information out there. In 2021 he struggled at Newcastle with machinery not good enough and the then current level of CL rider he was against. He then struggled with machinery at Armadale. In 2022 he upped his average at Belle Vue whilst riding an ex Nicky Pedersen engine but still had machinery issues which impacted his season. Missed 2023 due to Injury and hopefully makes an impact in 2024 as the there's a lot of younsters who will swallow him up if he doesn't. Phil Morris has stated he never had a car till he retired and he made a career out of racing because he invested in what he wanted. I questioned his hunger to succeed not that he has a car or tattoos.2 points

Why would he not stay with the club who put a lot of faith in him last season? Lazy to just trot out the money line.1 point

Good draw for us . Our number 1 will have both legs on his home track . Yes I know only in speedway haha1 point

The asset myth is antiquated riders decide where they ride. Only positive in having assets is they are offset against your bond held by the BSPL.1 point

You don’t seriously think he would turn down Tigers for Comets in his present situation.Sincerely hope Workington get a competitive Team assembled.Given the work done by the present Promotion I’m sure they will ,but obviously they have a budget to work too.The track will produce some great racing and entertainment so just enjoy the speedway.1 point

i am glad Kyle has a team spot, he did talk of not having one with most teams complete. He may well show us why Poole should have given him another year.1 point

I go to watch the racing. I want the Comets to win of course but it’s not as if they’re trying to get a promotion position as in football. Cup matches are different and trophies are good publicity but good racing, no serious injuries are important. Hoping Charles Wright is on form again for Redcar after his bad one.1 point

The former Wolverhampton racer was named as the Brummies’ third signing for 2024 on Friday – before 1993 World Champion Sam Ermolenko and Chris Adams were unveiled as Team Manager and Assistant Team Manager respectively, both also having strong connections with the Black Country club. Worrall said: “I think it will be brilliant having those two on board, I think it will be fantastic. “Being at Wolverhampton, I’ve seen those guys every week. So we already have a very good relationship and I’m really happy about that. “You need people in your team, especially as a manager, who have been there, done that, got the t-shirt and they need to be in a speedway rider’s mindset I believe. “You’ve got to know how to understand what’s going on with a rider if you’re not getting the best out of them and how to flip it around. “I know Sam’s era of speedway was different to modern-day speedway, but he can still advise you and point you in the right direction.” Slightly different slant to your 'post' ?1 point

If you are talking purely about riders who retired in the 1950s, I'd say that Arthur Forrest must be the prime example.1 point

I think one has already been written. Can't quite remember the name of the author(s) though.1 point

For me Oxford Cheetahs should have been the Prem side, Oxford Chargers or Rebels or Silver Machine for the Champ side & Oxford Cubs or Cheetah Cubs for the NL side.1 point
-
That didn't answer my comment, I said I hadn't seen a rule saying only one Champ rider per NL team.1 point

There will never be another Pele but every half decent Brazilian since he retired gets labelled the next one. It's a lazy stereotype is essentially what I was getting at1 point
