Facenna’s have done a wonderful job saving Glasgow Speedway, some people just can’t accept it for what it is.Sad really.7 points

You better let Neila know, there must be plenty of spiders in the Worky cabinet or maybe even woodworm. Glasgow supporter know all about our history and appreciate what the Facenna family did and do for us.3 points

Sounds way too progressive, informative and forward thinking for anyone involved in speedway promotion!3 points

Roger M seems to have some obsession with the facenna's finances. Then you've got a fan of a team who'd spent fortune's to win the inside it a donut in the era before we did talking about an empty trophy cabinet.. couldn't make it up2 points

Straight on again, you must be on the payroll yourself the way you jump to their defence every time money is mentioned. Or maybe just a brown nose.2 points

Lawson confirmed, one of the best riders in the league double figures home and away usually.2 points

I have been to Monmore Green & Perry Barr many times, had season tickets at both over the years. I used to enjoy the racing at Monmore Green but it hasn't been as good as it was in the last 10ish years. When Wolves had Peter Karlsson & Lindgren you could guarantee good racing weekly, before that when Ermolenko was in his pomp especially when Cradley visited with Hancock & Hamill. Perry Barr was a decent race surface when it re-opened, I think it deteriorated after Tony Mole departed the club and the last time I was a regular visitor in the 2021 season it was awfully dusty almost every week.2 points

Got to admit, Was 50 years worth of spiders in the co7mets trophy cabinet before the 2018 treble, yes we won the fours and best pairs, and the young shield before that, but we did not splash the cash to win a cup !! The 2018 team was actually built to a budget to fail and look what happened1 point

As you were, about what I'd expect from someone such as yourself. I've no skin in this game and admire what Glasgow have achieved as a club, it's just a shame the decent fans (including your bro) are stuck with the likes of you. Can't be helped. Let them know what? Like I say, they've had more recent success than Glasgow even when not in existence. No need to use them closing down as ammunition though is there? Fair enough on the Facennas, they've spent a lot of money, nothing wrong with that, and your club is a million miles better off than before they arrived. They do a lot of things right on and off track, other clubs could learn a lot. Absolutely, nothing wrong with defending your club. It's the likes of the poster above who will jump on any mention of money as if it's a bad thing. They've spent a fortune, good for them. Why deny it?1 point

And we have another expert on the finances at Glasgow I am sure the owners finances must be known to all and sundry on here. Or maybe not , hilarious.1 point

Edinburgh didn't have a choice - to use a guest for Cook, they either need him to produce a sick line or declare he was "withholding his services". I don't think anyone is suggesting he should have to ride if he's unwell with mental health, more he should see a Doctor if he's unwell with mental health.1 point

But some wouldn't shell out for a season ticket if the team looked weak would they? I'd have thought best way to generate interest is to reveal your side and whet people's appetite and removing the doubt.1 point

They’d be silly to invest the last couple of years into Blodorn and then show him the door for the season that investment could bear fruit.1 point

I find it interesting there are rules to stop riders messing around clubs, but not rules to stop clubs messing around the riders!1 point

Who knows but I very much doubt it. unless a rider is under contract with a club legally he can’t be deemed an asset. Hence riders ride wherever they want regardless of which club claims them as an ‘asset’ The asset system is an in-house speedway thing if tested legally it would collapse.1 point

I see that you are still very bitter about Glasgow, its been nice not seeing all your bitter posts for last few years. I suppose now that Workington are back in championship you will be infesting our threads again. I am glad Workington are back in championship and look forward to visiting when the Tigers are in town. Maybe you could say hello and find out that we are not the nasty folk that you think we are, or is it jealousy of our owners that is your problem. 2018 was a fantastic year for your team, shame how it ended, We would have went bust years ago if the Facenna's hadn't taken over, but thankfully they did and we have fantastic racing at Ashfield now.1 point

90 mins is fine, I would say that is the sort of perfect ball park, if it was newer an hour it would be too rushed and no time to breath especially after a great race. When it starts getting on for two hours though, it’s taking the P and tv meetings and some others non tv often end up being dragged out for the sake of it, no rush to get on with it whatsoever even if rain was forecasted. Lakeside used to have spells like that, made all the worse by one man insisting he had to drive both tractors so we had to wait twice as long in a far from sheltered stadium in the cold and wind.1 point

How can there be a rule that a rider refusing a rising star place cannot sign for another Club as rising Star,Find that hard to believe. There again it is Speedway we’re talking about.1 point

The new social media team at Leicester are very much on trend with lots of experience of creating content for the younger market as they themselves are in the 14-23 group with TikTok,Insta Reels and You Tube shorts being their forte. They have some great ideas and are fortunate at Leicester to have some other people involved with the club whom have lots of experience of Media and Marketing There will also be the more traditional social media like X (Twitter) Facebook along with of course the usual press releases too so hopefully should be something for everyone1 point

2021, it had been unused for two years and had weathered badly. The Tolly regime laid a lot of new shale and it is now much better. Yeaterday, I watched a match from 2013 (v. Lakeside) on Youtube which had fantastic racing: riders going at it, many times passing both sides. Hopefully it will be as good next year.1 point

Dan Thompson did not choose Ipswich over Leicester he had no choice. Each club had first option over their 2023 season ending rising star. Under the rules if a rider refuses a rising star spot then they are not allowed to sign for another club as a rising star. Because Ipswich wanted Dan as their rising star his only decision was ride for Ipswich and do 2 leagues or only ride in the Championship for a club if he can get one. Riders can opt out of the R/S programme amd sign for clubs like Jason Edwards did at Sheffield but if he is dropped he will not be allowed to sign for another club as a R/S nor can he guest as a R/S.1 point

Just seen an advert on the telly for the... Hackney Diamonds... Is this the new track?1 point

One of the biggest losses for Wolves was that of track curator Doc Bridgett retiring due to ill health. During his tenure the racing was superb, passing inside and outside. Wolves won multiple track of the year awards as voted by referees and riders. Size and shape was irrelevant then. All this with limited access to the track due to the greyhounds. Subsequent curators have tried their best but really Bridgett was unmatchable.1 point

Dan is delighted to go back to Ipswich. He became a firm part of the Ippo family and was given loads of help and support from Emil, JD and all the riders and staff. Who wouldn't say Yes to an offer to go back? Another year there, a solid year in the Championship and we might just see a real British prospect for a golden future.1 point

One thing is for sure. Home wins are going to be crucial next season. It looks to me it will be like it was all them years ago when away wins were rare. looks a good season on the cards1 point

The rising star initiative in its current guise should be nowhere near the Premiership The Championship should hang its head in shame that they dropped it1 point

Don’t worry, the stands could be filled with Poles. To them Manchester will be like Torun, Warsaw or Wrocław is to a Brit. Manchester has a lot of history and is surrounded by a lot lovely countryside. Sometimes we don’t really appreciate what’s on our own doorstep, the grass is always greener thing……….and of course that also applies to a Pole living in Torun, Warsaw or Wrocław. Apart from the above, you sound like another who is advocating no world championship or similar top draw events should ever be held in Britain because potential venues in your mind are boring. Wonderful.1 point
