  1. AEPG think that this will demonstrate that it satisfies option k of the local plan policy LP30, that being that the track is no longer fit for purpose. That’s naive, as they have instructed the current owners to destroy it. Pretty sure our council will not buy into that, more so given AEPGs arrogance and ignoring of the recent council refusal of their DHL operations. Agreed it doesn’t look good in those pictures but that’s only because we’ve never seen it like that before. There’s nothing that has been done that can’t be rectified in a short space of time, we have the manpower (supporters) and we have the sponsors who will support financially. AEPG may have broken supporters hearts but they’ll never break their spirit, these actions will just make the supporters more determined.

  2. The fence needed replacing during this close season anyway, it was rotten and held together by various bits and pieces. It’s important to note that AEPG instructed Buster to do this otherwise they would have employed contractors to do it and send him the bill. It’s been estimated that the removal of everything will cost £25k to £30k. Buster is most definitely not the bad guy here.

  3. Because it was entirely conceivable that the season could still be going 3 weeks into November?

  4. Well said RoundTheBoards. Some people just moan for the sake of it. Two or three days in Tenerife is no big deal. As long as the promoters have utilised their time wisely then there should be nothing to complain about. Also, quite a few of the promoters seem to get a fair bit of stick but at least they're keeping the sport going. If they weren't around who would be there to replace them??

  5. Trust me, it really isn’t like that. Buster won't be demolishing the Grandstand as that is the property of the Showground not the Speedway club. The other issue is that the Grandstand has asbestos in it. Demolishing the Grandstand will be very costly, AEPG won’t be wanting to pay for that now. It is in their schedule to remove in several years time, subject of course to planning approval, they need planning approval before they can demolish it.

  6. Those going on about the cost need to get some perspective in the scheme of what it takes to put team together for a season That £1k price being quoted is probably about the equivalent of 1 ride in 1 meeting to cover the likes of Emil Doyle Bewley Holder etc... Even lower down its likely not even the cost of 1 meeting for a Championship heat leader It really is irrelevant in the big picture

  7. Keep the belief no matter how disheartening the pictures are, AEPG and Buster want you to fell like it's the end. The latter just wants to reel in the gullible Panthers by encouraging them to prop up the attendances at KL with a cunning plan to sign all the Peterborough riders that other Premiership clubs don't want, Been the plan for months and you don't need to be an ITK to figure that out, Buster was never our ally so him helping out AEPG isn't a shock to those who saw right through him. AEPG are just another group of selfish w**kers like we've seen on numerous occasions in our sport who try and take away something from an entire community for their own personal gain and nobody else's, We've seen it at numerous clubs, Some of them get their clubs back and that's why we must keep believing instead of throwing in the towel. Follow the Save Peterborough Speedway page on social media platforms for all the latest updates from Mick Bratley and all of the other good people who are trying everything they can to save the club, They're the ones we need to listen too and follow their lead like attending the upcoming protest.

  9. Have you ever spoken to any of them at length and discussed speedway or is your opinion based on what is said on here . From my experience they don't always agree on the decisions made by the promoters but as the management committee they have to abide by the majority vote it's called democracy

  10. Shame about Charles Wright... He is great to watch at the NSS... And doesnt take many prisoners when riding.. Hope he comes back to the sport fully 100% fit, and will go and watch him at the NSS when whoever he rides for comes to town...

  11. I'm guessing Bomber's reference this week wasn't to the Championship. I'd hope we'd have been told if he wasn't coming back. As far as I know, Glasgow know who they have for next year, so my conclusion in that everyone we haven't been told is leaving, is coming back. Seems the most logical scenario to me.

  16. We don’t know if that “rule” will still be in place. I’d like to ask the question to whoever made this rule, why that rule was made and the reasons behind it. We have a points limit, why can a club sign two riders from the Ekstraliga, but not a third? Sometimes it seems daft rules are made up just for the sake of it.

  17. Exactly. Probably THE plum signing this winter for somebody.

  22. Let’s get silly as we have no idea of a points limit. But given it’s a dead cert top 2 of Emil & Doyle & Rew needs to start at reserve Something along the lines of Emil 5 point overseas King Ellis Doyle Rew Thompson

  23. Not sure there is much devious about it. Gaming International don't want speedway there and Terry Russell says it's not viable.

  24. If it was in the UK he'd be whinging because it would cost a lot more. I could book a flight to Tenerife now for £58 return. (Had I booked in advance weeks ago I could get that down to £31 return). To drive to Rugby and back would cost approx £80 in petrol. For a three-day conference in Rugby, travelling each day, that would be £240 of petrol. Or I could book a hotel for 2 nights at maybe £80 per night in a budget hotel, so that's still a total of £240. Then the BSPL would have to hire a room in ACU house for 3 days. Split between 20 or so promoters that probably only adds an extra £20 or so. Two nights in one of Tenerife's numerous hotels is going to cost less than trying to find a Premier Inn in Coventry. So overall it's considerably cheaper to go to Tenerife.

  25. He should have walked away before 2023 (or during it if someone had put in a written offer, which was his criteria allegedly?) but we still don't know why those pre-season talks failed at such a late stage? Probably explains the difficulties in any negotiations with him now? He may not be the bad guy but the longer it goes on the club loses and AEPG win so I'd hardly call him an asset?

  26. Would agree just like Cribbys a bit of a mish mash.No real story to it.

  27. It's really alarming then if Buster is assisting the bad guys, He should walk away now and let the consortium have full control and they'll at least fight and show some balls in trying to save the club. If AEPG told Buster to go and demolish the stand first thing on Monday morning then he would do it without hesitation, Which begs the question where does this end? Buster is a lackey for AEPG and he'll do anything they tell him to do now just to save himself from potentially having to pay for the destruction of the club's home. It's the equivalent of hiring someone to do you dirty work for you and it just sends out a clear message that Buster would rather see our club die instead of keeping the club alive out of his own pocket, Therefore he's not willing to fight for the club unlike consortium, council and fans.

  28. Where do you get that Belle vue's team is about the biggest budget i have no idea what riders are paid. But i do know about other/last years team it is about loyalty and good long term signings. Kurtz has been with us for 3 seasons having put a point on his average since we signed him. Bewley has never ridden for any other Prem league club having started with us in the Colts team in 2016 on a 3 point average in the National league and only missing the 2022 season. Lidsey has never ridden for any other Prem league club starting with us in 2019 on a 4 point average finishing the season with a 5.15 average .Then signing again last year on a 5.15 average and finishing with an average of 7.82.Wright has been with us for the last 3 seasons and has been a very good number 4.(Sadly lost to averages next season) Brennan has been with the club for the last 3 seasons starting off as a rising star and ending this season with a 6+ average.(sadly lost him next year due to averages) Has never ridden for another Prem league club. Blodorn has been with us for the last 2 seasons starting off as a very young ass 4 point average and ending this season with a 5.83 average has never rode for another Prem league club. So from the above i see a team that is built on loyalty and wanting to ride for the club. Other loyal riders Cook 7 seasons starting on a 3,88 ave in 2011 Fricke 6 seasons starting on a 4.84 ave in 2015 Zagar 5 seasons S Worrell 6 seasons So in my opinion far from a buy success team yes we have made some big signings but in most case's the club have signed potential and if its paid off and have stuck with them for years.

  29. The issue there is that they’d rather open a track where there is no desire for one to save face rather than fix the current mess, I’d say.

  31. Theres nothing wrong with the track they have at Blunsdon!!!

  32. Agreed. I sort of get, and appreciate, the removal of his one line top surface. That can be replaced and the track improved and returned to it's former glory. I don't get the fence though, that only plays in to the AEPG narrative of needing the site cleared because they think that some other clowns are going to get in bed with them for their proposed Spring 2024 land sale. What value is there in a load of old wood? That would have been included in this never ending consortium negotiation. Chapman's played a blinder throughout 2023 for Butterfield and AEPG, has he got a PE postcode? The plan seems to be, forget 2024, fight the AEPG planning applications and hope that there is something left to return to in 2025? Hopefully Chapman has to explain himself at the AGM. The Speedway Control Bureau put in a powerful objection to 23/00400/OUT | Outline permission for up to 850 dwellings (shame that they didn't add to 23/00412/OUT | Outline permission for up to 650 dwellings which is where the speedway track sits) but they are happy for one of their members to seemingly be happy to lose a prime circuit and stadium to further weaken their product?

  38. Don’t worry, the stands could be filled with Poles. To them Manchester will be like Torun, Warsaw or Wrocław is to a Brit. Manchester has a lot of history and is surrounded by a lot lovely countryside. Sometimes we don’t really appreciate what’s on our own doorstep, the grass is always greener thing……….and of course that also applies to a Pole living in Torun, Warsaw or Wrocław. Apart from the above, you sound like another who is advocating no world championship or similar top draw events should ever be held in Britain because potential venues in your mind are boring. Wonderful.
