A couple of weeks before his failed test he said some cheap remarks about me and then said I should show him some respect, you can imagine how I laughed when he got caught3 points

Premiership? Seriously, it's good to see a track and promotion moving in the right direction. Especially with all the closures and problems some other tracks are having just now.3 points

Ignore previous misplaced entry what I was trying to say was that in the King's Speech today and I quote "legislation will be brought forward to safeguard the future of football clubs for the benefit of communities and fans" A very narrow approach.2 points

Even though it wasnt the intial plan to move up to the championship this soon, it must be wonderful being a workington fan. Amazing new track by the sea and pretty much every rider around the world will fancy riding that track. Good luck to the promotion and team they put together. Lets see what happens next..2 points

The Poles of that era gave an indication of their capabilities when the ROW Rybnik club side toured Britain in 1965. The team contained Andrzej Wyglenda, Stanislaw Tkocz, Antoni Woryna and Joachim Maj, plus Andrzej Pogorzelski borrowed from Stal Gorzow. On the tricky Brough Park track they trailed Newcastle 15-3 after three heats and then outscored the home team by 34-26 over the remaining races to go down to a narrow four-point defeat. A few days later they beat a strong Wolverhampton team by a point on what was expected to be a difficult track for them to adapt to. The top Poles had no trouble, Wyglenda and Woryna scoring maximums and Pogorzelski dropping only one point. On bigger tracks, against good teams, Rybnik drew at Halifax and thrashed Poole 52-26. As for Soviet Union riders, they had probably seen few tracks like Newcastle and Wolverhampton before the 1966 tour. They beat England 59-49 at Brough Park, with Trofimov scoring 16 and Plechanov 15. Although losing by 10 points in the test at Wolverhampton, they shocked home fans in the first heat when team riding Plechanov and Chekranov left Nigel Boocock and Brian Brett way behind. When the same pair beat Mountford and Betts in heat 7 the score was 20-22. Igor and Yuri took their third 5-1 in their last ride. Like the Poles, the British tracks held no fears for them.2 points

Appreciate this is an example but promoters shouldn’t be building to anything until the AGM, so bigger fool them if they have made assumptions. As I say appreciate this was an example but you know full well some promoters are in cahoots to get ahead of the game and agree to support one another before they get around the table.2 points

I've never killed anyone whilst driving a train, a car, a motor bike and hope I never do,nor seriously injure someone. The impact must affect anyone with a conscience who does. The incident at Edinburgh when Craig's bike injured a photographer will have affected him deeply. He was totally blameless. Mental illness is silent, it is terrible and not to be underestimated or laughed at. Craig is many things but for gods sake let's cut him some slack and let him try to rebuild his career his confidence and his self esteem.2 points

Basso tsrasenko harris They are 3 I’ve heard should imagine Ben cook will be there1 point

He has always had the habit of going on social media to bad mouth people. I still remember when he was signed by Lakeside early in his career then Belle Vue stepped in and bought him. Without going into the rights and wrong’s of that messy episode, he went on social media calling Jon Cook names when most people would not have known the back story. It doesn’t look good when professional people are washing their dirty linen in public. Even back in those days Ritchie had a high opinion of himself. As others have said, his bother Steve is very different and maybe that’s why he is more successful.1 point

They are kind of being forced to join the Championship earlier than they would have probably liked ,just hope they don’t suffer financially again like 2018.While have got really got a great facility now, they’re previous produced some great speedway but not enough fans to make it viable. It is in much better hands now.I wish them all the best and certainly will be making an effort to see some meeting there .Looks great and I’m sure Championship racing will be great.1 point

On the whole the 2023 season has been a success in the NDL and an enjoyable experience watching the lads home and away. I think the move to the Championship has been to a degree forced on the promotion with the potential demise of the NDL and the lack of teams in the other Leagues . I can only hope the increased costs to the management and fans in the Championship do not harm the clubs future , with rider costs and entry fee of around £20 in the Championship in 2023. It will need a good support from sponsors fans and volunteers to make the club succeed in the future .1 point

Well obviously if your promotion, for example, suggests a points limit below 38 because he thinks it's fair and sensible you can perhaps understand if other promoters having spent weeks trying to put together a team with a 38 limit decide to throw it out.1 point

Geoff probably looked a lot harder and more seriously than they did at times. Whilst Cradley were using Monmore and getting decent Crowds the intensity of the search most likely subsided. CVS had his hands full, Pearson had his hands full as for Patchett who knows?1 point

Maybe if Panthers changed their colours (again) to that of the Palestinian flag they could be guaranteed a large vociferous turnout1 point

No, that was the only time I ever went to Cradley. I was actually at college in Norwich at the time and, because of the importance of the match, I thought I really had to get there. I managed to persuade two fellow students to come with me so we hired a car and drove over. Inside the stadium, we joined the group of West Ham supporters who had made the journey. After the match, as you can imagine, there was much celebration going on amongst us Hammers fans and I really wanted to go back on the coach with them to London to continue the celebrations, so I did. When we reached West Ham in the small hours, my friend and I walked back to his house in Hackney, stopping in a launderette on the way for an hour's kip! I got the train back to Norwich the next day. Meanwhile, my two college chums had slept the night in the car and drove back to Norwich the next day. Sorry, not much to do with speedway as such, but a small slice of life of an ardent speedway fan in the 1960s.1 point

It’s not just the other riders at risk, what about the drive home and all the other road users who could potentially be injured or worse..1 point

Spoiler alert,in todays speedway star dan bewley says he wont be riding for workington this season1 point

The British leagues should be having British youngsters at 6+7 also British U24 in the team, instead of all the foreign riders imo1 point

Ridiculous isn't it? The ban should be effective from the start of next season.1 point

Thing is ,certain Promotions will still want to employ him, does nothing for the image of the sport.1 point

There should be ZERO tolerance in these type incidents. We’re not talking carpet bowls here we’re talking a sport where riders suffer life changing accidents and sometimes death. You get caught with those substances in your system, go find another job!!1 point

Obviously penalties as well as punishing should represent a significant deterrent to others, not convinced such a lenient sentence will do this,(and that was after representing himself!! If he employed professional legal help might have even got off!!)1 point

Is the mitigation consideration that he got caught.Seems rather light sentence.IMO.Especially suspending 9 months of it.1 point

To my knowledge, the BSPA can't touch Isle of Wight other than making it difficult for them to recruit riders for their meetings (which I believe they have done, despite protestations to the contrary). The BSPA's selfishness and incompetence certainly led to Isle of Wight withdrawing from the NDL and by all accounts they have done pretty well outside of it. Running meetings over a much shorter season and being able to make their own decisions - rather than petty, vindictive and stupid rulings from the BSPA - will certainly have helped. My suspicion is that Kent would have withdrawn from the NDL anyway due to Si Kellow's apparent personal difficulties but the BSPA's savage decision to suspend their licence and fine them last season might well have prompted that decision anyway. Its not totally unreasonable to suggest that BSPA actions have cost the NDL two teams, and that could easily be the difference between the league continuing and folding.1 point

I'll agree with The Dean Machine on that! Entain have boasted that from 2024 onwards, their "customers" can walk into a betting shop and watch a greyhound race from one of their stadia, "every few minutes throughout the day." No wonder the country has such a huge problem with gambling. Is there no end to the avaricious greed of these people? Good luck to the Wolves in their quest to find an alternative venue. It's no easy task as we all know, but if anyone can work the oracle, CVS can!1 point

His u21 final win was as good a ride as seen at ashfield this season. And that takes some doing!1 point

The sport probably wouldn't still be around if it wasn't for Chapman. Saved Lynn, saved Peterborough (although some question this) and helped support Ipswich....1 point

It took Klindt half a season to get going this season. I just think it’s a gamble after a big injury. Otherwise I’d have him in the team. We can’t afford to have yet another season at the bottom. The fans are tired of it being the same year after year.Crowds have been poor this season, and it will only get worse if things don’t change.1 point
