A rally… effing hell… I hope Buster hasn’t approached a local school to come up with some *cough* rallying words for a sing a long. This has happy clappers written all over it. They should seek out some No To Oil protesters… that would get some attention, maybe splash Purple & White paint over some retailers window and glue their knackers to a programme board.3 points

Sounds like one big league would be the ideal scenario. Yes, riders would only have one club but the sport would be better for it.2 points

Following Wolves away in the late 60's, we considered Watford Gap area as halfway home from the London tracks. This was due to the M6 not being completed to link with the M1. So return journey iwas A45 past Brandon, Sutton area, Walsall then Wolves! Very tiring! Early 70's saw M6 open all the way. Early years were great. It was as if road cones and speed camera's hadn't been invented. It could be done in just under the hour from Watford Gap. Nowadays the M6 reminds me of 'Happy Hour' on the LA Freeway, take a newspaper with you to read or a musical instrument to play! As a footnote to the youngsters, in the early days late at night the car radio was limited to either Radio Luxembourg or American Forces. So it created a love for Baseball commentaries & Elvis. Back to the services. It was a good stopping place to chat to the riders and have an inquest as to why we lost! The bike on the rack at the back of the car was always easy to spot! Often the riders would speed past us going up the M1 and minutes later the Police Jaguar would try and catch them up! Happy Days2 points

No, that was the only time I ever went to Cradley. I was actually at college in Norwich at the time and, because of the importance of the match, I thought I really had to get there. I managed to persuade two fellow students to come with me so we hired a car and drove over. Inside the stadium, we joined the group of West Ham supporters who had made the journey. After the match, as you can imagine, there was much celebration going on amongst us Hammers fans and I really wanted to go back on the coach with them to London to continue the celebrations, so I did. When we reached West Ham in the small hours, my friend and I walked back to his house in Hackney, stopping in a launderette on the way for an hour's kip! I got the train back to Norwich the next day. Meanwhile, my two college chums had slept the night in the car and drove back to Norwich the next day. Sorry, not much to do with speedway as such, but a small slice of life of an ardent speedway fan in the 1960s.2 points

They have indeed and they deserve our support at what is an important part of Peterborough Speedway future existence. Its clear that a good turnout for the Peterborough Speedway Rally in Cathedral Square , Peterborough on Saturday 18th November from midday will have an effect on showing our local council that the Speedway has massive support in the city and shouldn’t be allowed to die after 53 years of history just so Ashley Butterfield and his company AEPG can make a lot of money. The Showground should stay for the benefit of Peterborough and it’s residents and be enjoyed for many years to come.2 points

They both took the same highly prevalent drug (cocaine). The other detected chemical is not a drug but a breakdown product of cocaine. It stays in the system longer than the cocaine.2 points

Don’t think they are in a position not to allow it, regardless what night they want to race on.1 point

If that was the case, then i can't see how he can sell... no doubt we will know in due course. As there's 2 or 3 who are in the consortium on here. Obviously not the right time now, but it will surely come out in the end. Myself, i don't think he has.1 point

Good turnout at last nights awards night. From the Bandits Jye,Connor, Leon & TJ were in attendance with Greg, Danny P, Jamie H representing the Bullets and Caydin Martin & Owen Booth from the the Academy team. Stewart Dickson also there and gave a good interview hinting that there will be 2/3 changes in 2024 line-up. The promotion also announced that concession prices will be back next season.1 point

Definitely not enough testing done in a Professional Sport with such high risk consequences. If that is Worrells genuine Post as a reply on social media he is a disgrace to the Sport.1 point

We can argue about percentages till we're blue in the face. The fact is that two senior, well known riders, as well as Steve Boxall, have been found guilty and banned, this year. Regardless of the number of tests done, this is far too many. Other factors might suggest there are others that have escaped detection and that's an even bigger concern. I have joked in the past, when a rider seems to be doing unusually well, that he won't pass the drugs test. Respected riders being "found out" makes me realise it ain't funny. It undermines the whole sport and threatens to attract the wrong sort of publicity. Not to mention the risk to life.1 point

I think at the end of each season a list of tracks/teams where tests were carried out should be released - not necessarily naming riders selected (but it wouldn't be a bad thing to know) so that supporters are aware of the testing programme/schedule.1 point

Is Chapman even allowed to sell the club? If Chapman has taken a bung to get out of the Showground (and I'm not suggesting he would... perish the thought), but if he was the kind of dodgy character to take a bung, then surely there'd be something in the agreement saying he can't sell the club. There'd be no point in paying-off someone to get his speedway team out of the Showground if he could just then sell the club to someone else wanting to go straight back in1 point

Did you also go to Cradley Heath two months earlier for the original scheduled league fixture? The referee and team managers agreed that the track was unfit for a league match but was fine to race a challenge match instead. Tons of sawdust were used. Speedway has always been crazy! One rider, John Hart, refused to ride and was replaced by George Major, returning from injury. Sverre Harrfeldt's winning time in the scratch race final was 11.6 seconds slower than the track record. West Ham won the challenge and the league match by the same score, 47-31. In the league encounter, Cradley took the first heat with a 5-1 against McKinlay and Trott and still led after four races. If by some miracle the Hammers had lost the restaged match they would not have been champions. Hammers' riders won all of the last nine heats though.1 point

Have to agree rather over the top - all people want to hear Chapman has sold the club - the announcement is hardly big news far from it - but it’s news and hopefully it helps the cause.1 point

I remember we got stuck there one night, coming back from Belle Vue. There was a loud knocking sound coming from the floor of the coach, and nobody could find out what it was. The driver didn't want to take any chances, so we spent several hours, waiting for a replacement coach. We discovered what it was the next day... Someone has nicked a metal road sign for a lark. Not thinking, they stuck it face down under one of the seats. It was dark, and the back was the same colour as the floor. When we hit bumps in the road, the bloody thing would knock against the frame of the seat ..1 point

A ban should be for a season or 2 seasons or a part thereof, what good is a ban when they,re not riding anyway, it's not a ban wake up those in charge.1 point

A few years back Prem & Champ teams both had to have 2 x Brits in their sides, but that ruling lasted about ONE season. Shame clubs can't agree to keep rules like that long term.1 point

There should be ZERO tolerance in these type incidents. We’re not talking carpet bowls here we’re talking a sport where riders suffer life changing accidents and sometimes death. You get caught with those substances in your system, go find another job!!1 point

Leaving aside whether this actually trancends into a return of the Hammers and the whys and why nots, if it were to happen with half decent facilities, it has the potential to be a very well supported club and likely far better supported than previously i would think. Why i say this is it will be the only club in the south east . Since closure at Lakeside Rye , Eastbourne and Kent have gone. i know Iwade are operating as Kent but with Lakeside operating in Premier or Championship fans likely to go there instead. When Rye was Saturdays a few years ago in Premier they were getting decent crowds, c 1,500 - 2,000, and the people i spoke to there were coming from far and wide. At that time there were 3 other tracks in the south. I would be very optimistic if they can get Hammers back on track and sensible stadium facilities here or elsewhere in borough. UP THE HAMMERS ! WOULD BE GREAT TO SEE THEM BACK.1 point

I see Leicester are not honouring re-admission tickets (understandable given change of ownership and time of year), but instead accepting claims for refunds. http://www.leicesterspeedway.com/_mobile/news.php?extend.32392.1 This is the only info I can find (so it may have been missed by travelling fans) and it does not explicitly state that tickets can not be reused (as per the conditions of re-entry - you know the ones that explicitly state there will be no cash refunds that Leicester were relying on two weeks earlier) Deadline for refunds is TOMORROW0 points
