There you go again…..how in God’s name do you know he’d prefer the Workington track? He’s been a master at Armadale for years. You just open your mouth and let it flow, don’t you?8 points

How about waiting until the actual 1-7 is announced before making predictions on the coming 2024 season?6 points

Craig Cook would make an ideal number one for Workington. He is local, a solid rider, certainly at Championship level, and would certainly prefer the Workington track to the tight turns of Edinburgh. Good luck to him if he chooses to continue his career in the sport.5 points

If it's correct It's a 38 point team, the league is achieving exactly what they want by diluting the championship down. The window on Poland has been all but closed. I know by responding to your nonsense it'll be classed as "biting" but the reality is that every team in this league is going to be far weaker for 2024.4 points

Quite a lot of riders have good sponsors large and small all add up, these are used to cover machinery costs, travel money is paid by the promotion home and away, so points money is the riders pay, if you are the better rider scoring 8 - 10 points they could have a pay packet well of over £1000 a meeting, twice a week 25 meetings is 25k or more in just over 6 months, I have to work 40 hours a week 52 weeks a year for that figure. Yes the young riders have to start at the bottom on less money, but how many are full time speedway riders ?? Not having a go at the riders, it's a dangerous sport but they have to be reasonable when talking to clubs, just because this is in the comets section it applies to all speedway clubs. Thoughts anyone ?4 points

Shovlar standing in judgment of Glasgow, good job some people don't judge him by his s.h.p.o or he would have no friends. Who would want him as a mate.3 points

Well I do normally get to be aware of signings soon after they happen. But in confidence means that I certainly wouldn’t post what I hear/know on this forum. If I did, I certainly wouldn’t be told anything. And I would assume the same goes for others on here from other clubs.3 points

No its not , if this does happen to be the 2024 side it looks like having an all British team makes it easier to arrange and rearrange fixtures without having to worry about losing riders to any fixtures abroad same as what has happened in the past .3 points

I don't think they are. Consider Ellis's last 2 years' form around the NSS. League & Play offs. 0,3,1,2 =6 0.1',0,1 =2+1 2,2,0,3,1 =8 0,0,0,2 =2 0,2,2,1',0,1' = 6+2 NSS AVERAGE = 4.172 points

Stefan Kwoczala was Polish champion in 1959 and seventh in the World Final the following year. He rode for Leicester that year but was only allowed one season of racing in Britain and returned to ride in the Polish domestic league in 1961. Sadly, he suffered serious head injuries in a track crash in May of that year which effectively ended his career. Who knows what he might otherwise have achieved.2 points

It’s probably down to finances. Glasgow 2023 cost an absolute fortune and with not very large crowds probably cost Faccena a small fortune. Bringing in Tarasenko would have cost an arm and a leg and perhaps now Faccena has won a title he is going to cut his cloth to fit the clubs income. That 2024 team would cost way less than 2023.2 points

Riders can "demand" what they want, but the promoters don't have to pay it, if they feel that the "demand" is excessive.2 points

Tbh, I don't think that's relevant. Fans need to decide if they think the price is value for money. If they don't think it is & stop attending, it won't matter if the promotion knows more than the fans i.e how much it costs to put meetings on. I'll use Justin Sedgmen as an example, I've seen interviews, where he explains how expensive Speedway is, with tuning, travel expenses etc as a reason for riders deserving more money. But that's not how a business works - a promotion can only pay out, what comes in (unless they are willing to lose money). If clubs only get 500 attending matches, the riders wages should be based on this income (plus sponsorship), riders can't just demand more money to pay for the very best equipment!2 points

Poole will not be moving up,they are not as big a club as they used to be. Staying in the championship is proof of this.1 point

Don't bite folks, don't bite Any team with Worrall and Harris in it isn't going to be 'shoestring' anyway.1 point

Just have to have business acumen. Facenna is a successful businessman and successful businessmen don’t throw good money after bad. Like any businessman he will cut his cloth to the relative income of the club. Now he has won his title it’s clear that is happening, if the muted team is the actual team. Harris and Worrall are British based and affordable. Flint, Starke won’t be on big wages. Complin, Pearson and Pijper will be on the usual rates for reserves. No paying for flights as all UK based. No big signing on fees, no paying for hotels/accomodation. Pretty much a shoestring side, and will be pretty difficult to find one put together that will be as cheap to finance. This isn’t a dig at Glasgow at all. Some other teams might also be this weak.1 point

At least they have the money to lose.Unlike Workington who won everything at great expense to the riders and everybody else they owed money too when they went down the tubes.1 point

Just got to look at back issues of speedway star after the season has finished, several times it said Glasgow s "success" has cost a small fortune, even quoted after Poole threw the title away that the owners had invested over £3 million since taking over the club, yes Glasgow are still running but probably at a high cost to the owners every year.1 point

Didn't have many issues as I remember in his first spell. If hadn't broken his wrists in British final think would've won league that season1 point

I think Lee and bomber are good characters to have around the pits and for interaction with the fans too. Was reminiscent of the never to be forgotten Danny ayres in the Oxford and Poole meetings with Lee1 point
