  4. Stop bigging up the jubilee Cup,completely pointless and no kudos in winning it,with two made up teams of available riders,no Glasgow in the final, if they were they would win it easily, complete waste of time not worth risking riders getting injured. Time to move on and stop grasping at straws you're making a fool of yourself again.

  14. Yes. Even if there had been a rider who could've come in mid season for Lee and done better - which there wasn't - it would've been a terrible move because he was so good at getting the crowd and the kids hyped up. Not enough riders work the crowd, but he's brilliant.

  15. I think Lee and bomber are good characters to have around the pits and for interaction with the fans too. Was reminiscent of the never to be forgotten Danny ayres in the Oxford and Poole meetings with Lee

  17. If Ipswich want to keep Emil and Doyle, you need to find a couple of 5.00 riders who can improve their average. Possible options 1. Patryk Wojdylo - Talented rider but he may struggle to adapt to Ipswich. Would be useful on away tracks. 2. Patrick Hansen - Very good on small and big tracks, he would be my first choice. 3. Dimitri Berge - Has a very low average from his time in Britain, has been very impressive in Poland. 4. Jonas Seifert-Salk - Very talented youngster, would adapt to Ipswich very quickly. 5. Mads Hansen - Another talented Danish rider, very useful on small tracks.

  19. I never quite got the objection and eventual banning of ghost teams. If you start with the objective of organizing a racing environment whereby young riders can get competitive track time on a regular basis and enough people are willing to pay to watch them, what's the problem?

  20. Imo the racing should be better with "diluting the league" as you put it, we all know the racing Is better when there's 4 like for like riders in a race be that 4 x GP stars or 4 x 125 lads. Younger riders are never going be able to compete with lining up against PL no1s in the Championship, but this season has proved the young Brits can compete against 2nd strings there and it's improving them. All I see and read is we want changes, now there's changes everyone's moaning about it, people accepted riders taking sweeties off kids in the NDL was wrong and they shouldn't be allowed to ride there, well the same's been happening in the CL and hopefully now that's being stopped/limited too and they'l do away with Doubling up altogether except for U24 Brits.

  21. The wording there that he needs 2 Leagues in the UK to make it pay is partly why British Speedways in the mess it's in, he see's it as a cash cow because Polands possibly not worked out for him. There should be no doubling up/down except for British Riders under 24

  24. It wasn’t a loophole it was a rule, It’s only a loophole if it was not allowed but you can find a loophole.within it. Do keep up.

  25. With the touted points limit being so low, it’s important to bring in young riders who have the capabilities to improve. The Tarasenko loophole Glasgow exploited has now been sealed so there can be no repeat. So only genuine 5 pointers. Guessing all teams will have very inexperienced reserves, though I think it’s important to have at least one reserve capable of winning heats. There’s going to be a lot of two races in the same heat.

  26. Oxford had to wait weeks for the rearranged league fixture to take place, which obviously delayed the arrangements for the final. The original staging was August 26th, but it didn't happen until September 23rd (and the Lions Cubs only raced on 8th and 9th in between those dates). Plus, what's the reason the Mildenhall Knockout Cup final wasn't staged earlier? Mildenhall won their semi-final against Kent on 16th April!

  27. Your probably right lewy but every Poole fan on here thinks it’s a divine right he will be a Poole rider if he isn’t in Plymouth’s plans then whoever is the highest bidder will get him not just because Poole click there fingers.

  28. There is a word that rhymes with white begins with an S. He should be able to work that out whilst sipping on his flat white. And bingo he will solve the answer to what his team have become.

  31. With the loss of 4 riders and assuming Bomber, Lee and Ace remain we need riders that can score well at Ashfield and who are also likely to improve. Winning our home matches has to be the priority. So to me Connor Bailey is a no brainer. Thereafter who knows.

  32. Gilkes definitely one I'd be thinking of. Had never seen the place prior to u21 final and he was excellent that day. Seems to get his fair share of injuries though

  33. 3 heat leaders in a 38 limit just isn’t really going to work, also not going to be enough riders for 3 heat leaders in each team.

  34. You can pick both still and win. But you need to be wise about picking your 2nd strings. No point going with Riss again. Need someone who looks like they can put points on their false average. Someone like a huckenbeck or a lahti etc

  35. Again….the BSPL did not destroy it, they simply stopped the use of ‘ghost ‘ names, the teams could still have ran under a different name associated with the track they ran out of. Im no fan of the BSPL but they did not destroy it, the will to run it ( and the BSPL had nothing to do with that either) simply ran out because of the names used.

  36. Your kidding yourself if you think the MDL still exists, it doesn’t ! One club , in the MIDLANDS ,running two teams against a Redcar side, in the NORTH, is NOT a league. The BSPL never had anything to do with running the MDL or any other junior league so don’t blame them. But Birmingham do an excellent job of providing racing for the youth, so you got that bit right.

  37. I agree with some of that. The play off final at Sheffield did show our weekness, however the choice of gates to go 1 & 3 was bonkers. Emil & Doyle of gate 3 is their opening riders when 3 was clearly the worse gate & everyone on the TV seemed to agree. The interesting thing is that a few weeks on no one seems to be talking about winning the cup or playoff defeat it’s about entertainment. Anyone I’ve spoken too talks about the atmosphere the entertainment provided & the feel good factor Emil & Jason have brought. it’s almost as long as we’re not getting thumped the entertainment & atmosphere is more important that winning a title. For that reason I’m quite happy to have the top two back. The crowds were good this year & held up well even when we had the mid season wobble.

  38. I think the 1960's to early 80's British speedway set up of 13 heats with a 2nd half including novice races was a great set up cause many riders cut their teeth this way. I know that most of the crowd would leave but personally I found many ordinary matches were made more interesting by seeing local novices trying to make their way in the sport after the main event. With regards to the NDL, British speedways 3rd Division, it has to be retained because since its inception in 1994 it has been one of the best things to happen to the sport. Countless numbers of riders have learned their trade at this level in a proper League set up something they would have been ready for at a higher level. Also like in the case of Workingtons reopening this season this lower cost League has enabled new venues. reopened venues and current tracks struggling to make it pay in the higher professional Leagues pay a platform to operate in. - Would Workington Northside have gone straight into the Championship without the safety net of the NDL to run in before? Birmingham and Eastbourne in recent years needed to drop into the 3rd tier in order to keep running. The likes of Mildenhall, Stoke, Somerset, St Austell, Kent, Linlithgow, Rye House, Buxton, Carmarthen, Scunthorpe, Plymouth, Wimbledon, Arena Essex, Skegness, Weymouth and Berwick only opened or reopened because of the existence of the lower cost 3rd Division. Many of these tracks went onto move into the higher Leagues keeping team levels up to a sustainable level. Looking at all the above facts disbanding the 3rd Division, the NDL in its current guise would be a negative move cause the gentler introduction into the sport for new tracks and new riders would not be there which would seriously hinder future existence of the sport in the UK.

  39. Is that why 80% of the crowd left after heat 13 ? That was one of the reasons they extended the main match to 15 heats as that’s what the fans wanted.
