What a speedway rider Chris Harris has been and is, will be a sad day when he packs in.12 points

Congratulations to the Tigs, who certainly deserved this over the two legs. Don't go with this sour grapes that Blobby has been spouting on here. If their owners have allegedly splashed the cash to assemble the side, so what, if my club was able to do so, I certainly wouldn't be complaining. The Facennas have also transformed Ashfield into one of the best stadiums & race tracks in the UK and it is fitting that they now have a Championship winning side to grace it.9 points

Poole have won something tonight.. Their fans have just become the "World Hide and Seek Champions"... Looks like a bit longer before they get found too...9 points

To quote the Norwegian dude after they beat England 2-1... It is unbelievable! Glasgow have beaten Poole! Poole - the home of giants. Skidder. lisa-colette. lbw. foreverblue. Arthur54. Glasgow has beaten them all! Steve Shovlar can you hear me? Glasgow have a message for you. Glasgow have beaten Poole in the playoffs. Steve Shovlar, as they say in your language in the boxing bars around Madison Square Garden in New York: "Your boys took a hell of a beating!" Your boys took a hell of a beating!7 points

Absolutely not. Peterborough Speedway would have raced on in the Championship in 2019 under Ged’s ownership if the sale of the Club to Keith Chapman hadn’t gone through. The Club was well run, profitable and successful and in no danger whatever.5 points

This is 100% correct, No BS. Buster needs to be reasonable for a change by agreeing a quick sale at a reasonable price in order to give the consortium the best chance going forwards, The guy has been a thorn in people's sides for far too long now. Massive thank you goes out to those who are part of the consortium (You know who you are), Your effort and passion for the club hasn't gone unnoticed.5 points

Congratulations to the Tigers, well deserved and commiserations to the Pirates. Very much a team effort tonight with all riders contributing and Chris Harris very much the leader. Pleased for Cami Brown, who takes a lot of stick (even from his own team's supporters), but always seems like a genuine speedway guy to me.4 points

It happens, 2010 was worse! It is a strange feeling not winning but another well done to Glasgow, they deserved it.4 points

Some very vocal Poole fans missing on this forum this evening cmon take your medicine like you have given to all our teams throughout the season you no who you are…4 points

An absolute masterclass from the oracle Cammy Brown to purposely perform poorly at Poole throughout the season and then turn up to wipe the floor with the pirates in the play off final. The man is a speedway genius.4 points

Those who have been sticking up for Chapman need to give their heads a huge shake. If there is a party willing to take Peterborough Speedway off his hands, just let them have it FFS. The way he has conducted himself this season has been an absolute joke. What is there to actually sell? Lynn's fans have been sick of him for a long time. And that farewell meeting is nothing short of a disgrace. Clearly put together on the cheap hoping for a huge crowd and one last big payday for him. Shameful. Despite his son being a flash pr**k in some peoples eyes, the minute he left Kings Lynn the place went downhill. I get that Chapman is a businessman and has lost a chunk of money at Peterborough but that in itself should tell you that he has two options. 1. Take whatever amount he is being offered or 2. Keep hold of it and make absolutely nothing back. If he is this astute businessman that people have claimed, he should be taking option 1. It all reminds me of 2012 at Newport when Phil Morris was trying to buy Newport Speedway from the Mallett family and they wouldn't sell, instead leaving the place derelict and vandalized until the landlords reclaimed it and sold it on to another haulage company. Bitter at the thought of seeing someone else making a go of it. That is exactly what seems to be happening here.4 points

I'm sure every morning Tarasenko wakes up and the first thing he thinks is "what is the Bournnemouth Echo saying today"4 points

Tough gig being a neutral on this one. Is it .............. "Come on Weegies - get the title back to Scotland." or "Come on Pirates - keep the Weegies' trophy cabinet empty." This fence is full of splinters! Reckon Complin could surprise a few tonight - could get half a dozen points.4 points

I can't see him packing it in for a good few years yet, Rides in both leagues and does Longtrack and Grasstrack meetings so he obvs loves it and the constant travelling isn't getting to him yet3 points

So by Shovlars logic they were the better team in 22 of the heats over the two legs but still lost that actually makes it even worse for Poole if you went by that logic. Deluded but very gratifying and hilarious at the same time.3 points

Course it did and its hilarious how Gavan thinks it didnt. Not only did he replace a rider who could barely score a point away from Glasgow , he also outscored his replacement at home and pushed a struggling Brennan to number 2. As said, the Glasgow team was fully legit and the better side over the two playoff legs. They pulled off a masterstroke signing. Its the powers that be that let it happen who need to be looked at. can you imagine Poole had signed him for Rowe? There would of been the biggest meltdown from non Poole fans we have ever seen!3 points

7 whisky's for the 7 riders, that sounds about right to me. Guess whose no making work tomorrow. Beats a flat white anyday. Come on the Tigers3 points

Absolutely superb from the Glasgow promotion in showing the final in their stadium on their big screen... something that was sadly missing from Leicester last year!3 points

Apparently Tarasenko just said to Worrall “what’s the difference between a dollar and a pound? I don’t dollar your mum” as he passed him in the pits.3 points

Not defeatist, just realistic... My thoughts on why we are where we are? The bandwidth of the forum wouldnt take it.... FWIW, there are two watershed moments for me... The first, the Sky tens of millions being used to basically pay top GP riders rather using it to invest in the sports' future, (both stadia and UK rider development).... (GP riders who pretty much all 'Foxtrot Oscared' when the money stopped).. And the second being post Covid. A HUGE opportunity to do something radical which would have been a "free hit" given the fans' craving to get back to watching speedway again.. Instead we had "same old, same old", which clearly hadn't been working pre Covid.. For those that still "take it seriously" and "believe it is real" similar to all other sports, I would never criticise their choice, and hope whoever wins any of the cups or titles enjoy the experience.. However, when something is allowed to take place as happened with Bomber in the semi and the final of the Premiership this year, you are asking a lot if you expect your sports' fanbase to regard it as a bona fide sporting championship.. Ultimately the Promoters do their best, but unfortunately many don't have the correct skill set to market and administer it, and, to be fair to them, probably don't need to as their track is often their personal hobby as a fan, so "big global picture" thinking doesn't form part of their overall remit... Unfortunately, that lack of "big global picture" thinking is probably its ultimate downfall... But, on the positive side, it is also its largest opportunity for generic growth should it ever be tried and delivered...3 points

Agree, don’t why people get Personal regarding Posts,we all have some different opinions on some matters some differ some don’t, it should be left at that IMO.3 points

Just put in a sell on clause. If a new stadium materialises then further payment is due to Buster. Common in land sales where if planning permission is subsequently obtained by the new owner some of that increase in value is returned to the old owner.3 points

Good to see the Tigers land the title. Reward for all that their owners have pumped into the sport over the past few years. Also pleased for those fans who have followed them through the ups and downs, especially Paulco! Poole have had more than their share of the trophies so good to see them shared about.2 points

Wonder where I was? Just got back and first of all congratulations to Glasgow on their title. By far seemed to want it more, and although Pirates rallied in the first leg, the damage was done when the Glasgow track suited the home riders. We were the better team through heats 9-15 of the first leg, and all of the second, but meetings are run over 30 heats and not 22 and Glasgow fully deserved it this year. Bomber was a second faster than any other rider on show tonight. He would have gone through the card like he did in the first leg if he had really had to. But the job was already done and it was raining quite hard. Why take an unnecessary risk? Brennan and Tarasenko backed him up and it was job done. Pirates by comparison seemed languid in both meetings. Poole again threw points away but even if it had been all four back when Worrall was excluded, it wouldn’t have made any difference, just narrowed the size of the victory. Since the signing of Tarasenko, Glasgow have been by far the strongest team in the league and as I predicted when he was signed they would go on and lift the title. Proved right unfortunately for us. Next up the KO Cup and a trip to Scunthorpe. Better raise our game or that will be heading up north as well. Well done Tigers.2 points

A pipe dream... You cannot run the level that the promoters want without ensuring many riders have to be full time pros.. 2nd Div Promoters want to use Div 1 level HL's, so that Div1 HL needs to be spending plenty and therefore expects a decent return... When £30k (and often well, well above) is the outlay on kit then riders need to ride as much as is possible.. In a perfect world, there would be clear demarcation within the leagues, and organic aspirational growth, with no rider sharing.. That ship sailed many, many years ago (if it had even ever been contemplated that is)... Speedway in the UK is in "survival mode" rather than "growth mode", and has been for a good many years, with promoters doing their level best in their own way to keep it going... If they could "run it properly like other sports" then I am 100% sure they would.. What we have is pretty much all there is, so no point in hoping for any magic wand to come along and change things.. Enjoy the racing, but dont get too bothered about the results, is the best way to look at UK Speedway... It still has the ability to provide huge excitement and a good night out when done well, as a fair few tracks do...2 points

R/R for Claus hasn't got more than 5 home or away, so Glasgow missing Claus is huge, and is as bad as Poole without Anders2 points
-
R/R for Rowe over the 2 legs is a killer for the pirates as it doesn’t cover his scoring at all. As seen at Glasgow on Monday. Could be the difference between losing and winning as with Rowe poole would probably win over the 2 legs without makes it an even game.2 points

Don't agree with the first part. He could be suffering from serious depression over a recent event that over time could fade away with each passing year. I know this having been through depression myself. Cook was a superb rider make no mistake, but as stated his reliability the last few years makes him unemployable, at least by a top side. You may see someone desperate for a number one signing him, if he wants to race on, but you wont see any decent side building a team around him. I have a feeling that Glasgow seen the warning signs and that's why they replaced him. And what a move that was as if you put Cook in that Glasgow team for Harris, it doesn't make the play offs. I don't like Cook and never have but it would be good to see him turn everything around and come back strong. I think Wilson and Stoney were better due to dominance in a much stronger league for over 5 seasons but Cook is up there with one of the best number ones in the second tier in the last 25 ish years.2 points

I’m no lover of buster and frustrated that this couldn’t have happened a while ago to give more time to try and reach a solution for next year, but I struggle to believe he actively wants the club to close.2 points

It's really very simple and a good Team Manager would stress it. Every 3 - 3 is a step to victory. If you can't win a race don't finish last If you get a lead just ride to win the race no messing about. If you're tailed off keep going you never know what will haoown If one of the opposition is miles in front don't chase him, hold back and ride tactically to get your team mate in to a 3 3 position Use any gate advantage to your advantage e. g Ace may not get a point but if he can be a mobile chicane for a few laps he can help the team. Cliche I know but one race at a time2 points

That's Russian as a team though - representing their homeland. It's not about people being allowed to compete as authorised neutral competitors - which happens in most sports now. They are punishing two individuals with Polish citizenship in a move that has no bearing at all on Russia.2 points

Really, seriously. So you don’t rate Bewley, Holder, Lambert, Kubera, Cerniak. And of course Drabik and Smektala still have time to fulfil their potential, then we have the likes of Gusts and others in the 19-22 year old class, did you not see Pederson at Vojens…..no18 in the start list performing more than adequately for a 16/17 year old in a senior GP. The future looks really good to me. If you can’t see the potential then perhaps you looking at the wrong sport……try netball or something.2 points
