  1. It may not be an exciting meeting, but….for some reason, I’m enjoying it. Wonder why?

  2. Am i missing something or do the reserve's need to have 4 rides ? Why would you put a rider that has scored 1 all meeting against one that has scored 7 (at that point) ??

  3. Total ineptitude by our team manager. Even if Glasgow win this tie, which is pretty unlikely, Brown has to go. Anyone who cannot see that Ace was guaranteed to be last and that Complin "might" not be, isn't good enough.

  4. No such thing as a neutral when Poole are racing is there?

  5. "Must" is not correct. You are correct that technically they're allocated one each. What you're failing to acknowledge, and I can understand why, you've nailed your colours to a mast, it's difficult to hold your hands up and say okay I've got this wrong, is that Lee can RR Ace's r/r. Ace does not have to take an r/r. I'm giving you an out. You're technically correct that one of the r/r's is allocated to Ace.

  6. Not forgetting the r/r ride at all, Complin can take his 4 rides, 2 x r/r outings & one of Ace's rides for his 7 heats. If Ace takes an r/r outing, Complin can take 2 of his rides. Can't see how anyone can defends Brown's team managing here.

  10. When you think of the 100% commitment oxford gave last week on a track miles worse than this

  11. Fans will be told once everything is confirmed at the AGM like every sport ever. Why would they need to come out and tell you the league structure is going to be the same? Only fans have made the assumption that it would ever be one league. Pre-discussions are had every year and tend to determine the direction the sport is going. Do you think they all sit around until November to then find out what’s happening with their company?!

  12. 012.4.4 Rider Replacement (RR) Facility allows the absent rider’s programmed rides to be shared out between other team members (including any Guest riders), subject to: - a) the rider who by MA is directly above the absent rider and all riders below may take one RR each b) a reserve can have more than one RR c) RR is not permitted in Heat 15 d) only one position per team may be declared as RR e) a nomination once made cannot be changed f) A rider nominated as an AR may, at the Team Managers discretion, take any ride at any time in heats 1-14, apart from the protected riders position in heats 2 and 8. Whilst the minimum ride rule does not apply, the maximum number of rides is 7. Bedtime

  13. When about a dozen people disagree with you on the r/r ruling, is it not time to consider, you may be the one who has the rules wrong?

  17. Now Newman out. Did we run over a load of black cats? Beyond a joke. Getting mullered tonight. And Glasgow were shouting how they were the underdogs.

  18. Weakest exclusion I've ever seen. Ace can slide off all on his own he doesn't need any pressure put on him to do so

  19. For me, the racing has been the most consistently exciting I’ve ever seen over a whole season and the atmosphere has been electric.

  21. I’m of the opinion that the for the sake of the sport’s long-term prospects in this country, the BSPA must insist on a Premiership and Championship merger. I don’t see how “leagues” consisting of six and eight teams is a viable product. ”Let’s move Birmingham here” and “hopefully Workington step up” is the sporting equivalent to running around your house a few days before payday, looking for a lost fiver or some pound coins down the side of the couch to pay the bills. It’ll work, but it isn’t sustainable. Imagine you’re a Sheffield fan, for example, and you’re looking at next season’s fixture list. You only have five other opponents. Five. Zero variety; that will drive fans away. Merging both leagues creates a bit of excitement and significantly more variety than the current set-up which, again, I don’t believe is sustainable.

  23. Well if anyone does know the rule or regulation book it's Stewart Dickson so the Berwick Promotion have pulled an ace out hat there. Sadly I hoped Dixie may have come back to Glasgow so I just hope we don't have anothet season of The Photo Bomber at the helm.

  24. He lost his steel shoe on the 4th bend in heat 9 , I am pretty sure they would have.resolved any issue with it by heat 12. As I say I’m not buying that excuse. Add into the fact he was still faster than Ace without a steel shoe and no disrespect to Ace he was having a poor night and shouldn’t have been anywhere near heat 12.

  25. Total bollocks. He's embarrassing. Complin would have bitten his hand off for 7 rides.

  26. Why did Bomber not take a R/R ride. Just joking GS550 before I set you off on one again.

  27. Can somebody grab the pdf for the rulebook and quote it, some of us have work in the morning.

  28. You mustn't understand the r/r rule, as many have said Ace only needed to take 3 rides. So I'll say Brown was incompetent with his team managing today.
    2 points
  29. Pijper does not have to take an r/r ride. Complin x 2, Brennan, and Tarasenko can take the 4 rides. And Complin can then take one of Pijpers programmed rides to have 7 rides to Pijpers 3.
    2 points
  30. Complin can take 2 and Ace none as both are reserves Ace only needs to take his minimum 3 rides if that’s what our manager decides. Which he didn’t.

  31. If someone asked if would you take a 14 point margin of victory tonight I would have bitten there hand off, now on reflection we really could have and probably should have put it beyond Poole tonight. With our abysmal recent showings at Poole you can only hope we sort ourselves out and give it our all. As some have said for the second consecutive week our team manager continues to baffle us all with his decision making. How long does he get a free pass with this it is borderline negligence.

  32. Well done Glasgow track staff for getting a smooth safe surface just 48 hours after major flooding. Been a joy to watch this team at this amazing track, no matter the outcome in second leg.

  33. Spot on. Needed to be 20+ for Glasgow to have any chance, they needed to ram home their advantage over the last few heats but those last places have cost them.

  34. Evenly poised .IMO.Depends if Tarasenko takes to Poole.

  35. Can't believe the amount of winging coming from Poole fans. Jesus losing one meeting and its all panic stations! And ironic cheers of a heat advantage.. unbelievably spoilt!

  36. Absolute disgrace from all Poole riders, off the pace and not even at the races. Glasgow have one hand on this title who are getting stuck in. Need to steady the ship or this is going be over by heat 10 this final. Gaters paradise but same for both sides.

  42. It’s riders schedules that are dictating the sport,it won’t get any better till that is sorted out regarding where they want to earn there wages.

  44. If Cookie was on a 7 I would say yes but an over 9 is a big risk. Think people have underestimated the effect the incident in Poole match had on him.

  45. Wow!!! Radical..... Luckily the sport in the UK has too many fans already so doesn't need to put meetings on when more people can get there...

  46. They seem to think we are all as stupid as they appear. The majority of the added costs were probably due to the need to keep the whole site open without anything else operating there rather than changing it round so that the speedway was fenced with an enclosure in it's own area for operations, parking and security. The pre and post-match security alone to check that entire site would have swallowed a fair lump of cash that would not have been necessary had they not been so pig-headed as to keep trying to clear a part of the site that will now just rot away just so they could carry on pretending the speedway was no more viable than all the events that used to use the site that were evicted s well so they could make more money getting houses and roads built on it. The grandstand, track and pits were actually closer to the entrance gate than almost the whole of the rest of the site and could have easily been separated off for years. And I would have thought that the EEAS members could have provided loads of goats or cows to keep the grass short on the rest of the site so it was at least doing more good for the charity than just leaving it to waste while they get their act together for what is likely to be a 10-year plan at the very least.

  47. Shambolic. Whatever your thoughts on Keith Chapman's final cash grab of a farewell meeting, surely everyone can agree that it's evident minimal effort was put in here. Mountain, Edwards, Starke, Brennan, etc? This is one of the biggest clubs in the country, countless legends and major moments, and this is the line-up that was mustered. If Chapman wants to stealth some more money with a farewell meeting he could've at least done it with some dignity and respect for the Panthers and the Showground.
