Personally as the dad and mechanic of a rider I also go to bike first after a crash leave medics to do their job whilst I do mine . If bike is ok when picked up then see how lad is . It is difficult to do this at times but it right to keep out the way at first6 points

I have no idea how he missed that, every fan on the back straight was dumbfounded when he put Ace out, after two falls in his previous 3 heats.4 points

Would be a sad way for his career to end. Last 2 seasons excluded he's been a helluva rider, as entertaining as I've ever seen round ashfield3 points

We are indeed. Hopefully get a bit further up the M6 this time!3 points

Posted by NK Iversen this morning on Twitter. Status after crash last night. Scans shows nothing is broken but I am pretty battered. They kept me in hospital overnight for observation due to a knock to my chest. Thanks for all your concerns. Haven’t been able to reply to everyone yet3 points

I hope you do say that to my face because it will be the last time you do pal failing that send me your details & I'll drive to see you & sort u out & then we will see ...you best shut your mouth3 points

Last nights cash grab to help fund the KL 2024 kitty hasn't gone down well, Hardly a shock though considering no effort was put in from the get go. Panthers will be back on track at some point, I have faith in those who are working hard behind the scenes.3 points

Oh dear. I see now Lee's form has picked up a bit going to double down on ace. Maybe, just maybe he wants to be part of a possible league winning side and is doing everything to be fit. You know the way you'd be desperate for if it was Ben or bomber. Ace has done more than the job was asked of him this season and using Smith against Poole isn't going to score you more points anyway imo. Theo I think on every fall bar the one against Berwick has gone to the bike first lol. I suppose it's a mental thing at times that he has to distance himself from being his son to thinking of him as would any other rider, take the emotion out it3 points

I'll have to disagree, while Poole want & deserve the choice of having the second leg at home, that shouldn't allow them to postpone matches. What if Glasgow couldn't re-arrange till the Friday & Poole call off the Wednesday match (in perfect weather) but the following Wednesday, when they plan to re-arrange it, gets postponed & it gets put back another week, you could end up with the KOC being abandoned, because Poole were so adamant to get the second leg at home? Apart from that, what about any Glasgow fans who could possibly have booked time off work, hired mini-buses, paid for hotels, all for nothing - just because Poole want the season leg? Obviously there's a risk of rain when you make these expenditures, but seems rediciulous that they could postpone a match, which could cause many problems, just to get the second leg at home.3 points

Don't think many clubs will be interested in Cookie,to much of risk for managers and promoters.2 points

Can’t see anything other than a similar season to this from CC. Teams aren’t going to offer up a place to him when you don’t know what you’re going to get.2 points

As a current clerk of the course I can inform you this is all sorted at a pre meeting discussion . The referee runs the meeting, and track grading is sorted between the ref, the team managers and the track curator . Team managers, riders etc can ASK for track grades during a meeting at any time, this occurred on Friday, but it’s upto the ref if he allows it. Some tracks don’t have intervals , Redcar being one of them. Im sure every Clerk has his own club protocol to discuss with a referee before a meeting.2 points

Are you sure your not a Poole fan, as this is what they do on every thread, start calling names etc to everyone2 points

Never fallen off a bike at 60 mph before, came off twice on the road on a motorbike and it hurt like F00k.2 points

Now this meeting is over i hope Chapman would step back and let any interested potential owner promoter take charge of the Panthers and see what can be done if anything.2 points

There's going to be a big crowd on the back straight to meet Barabas/WBW/Colin McHutchinson face to face. Wonder how Gazc's tete a tete went? didn't see the swat team dropping out of the copper chopper.2 points

Shambolic. Whatever your thoughts on Keith Chapman's final cash grab of a farewell meeting, surely everyone can agree that it's evident minimal effort was put in here. Mountain, Edwards, Starke, Brennan, etc? This is one of the biggest clubs in the country, countless legends and major moments, and this is the line-up that was mustered. If Chapman wants to stealth some more money with a farewell meeting he could've at least done it with some dignity and respect for the Panthers and the Showground.2 points

Next time am at glasgow will let u know and will talk to u face to face no probs,as for ace he wasnt the only one to fall off yesterday ,a magic moment was when his dad came running onto the track and went straight to the bike ignoring ace lol2 points

First of all I hope Puk is OK, i didn't hang around for the final as nobody really seemed bothered who won, there was no prize to ride for (?). As a "farewell" meeting what a p155 poor effort from the promotion, where were all the club legends? As David Howe, who was only there in his capacity as Dougy's spannerman, said he was hoping to catch up with, Sam Tesar, Hans Clausen & Ronni Pedersen etc. You have to assume that none of these ex riders were invited and Ully & Emil turned up under their own steam. Even the programme cover was a p155 take, of all the riders pictured only Ully was there! Buster was even on car park duty taking my final £1 in a final "come and have a go if you think you're hard enough" gesture? And his "thank you" speech was quite rightly greeted with silence! Of all the memories i have of the EoES through the years, there were absolutely none from last night and it will be quickly forgotten.2 points

Not correct. The ref asks the Clerk of the Course when you are grading and when interval is. That I know as fact having assisted many a time.2 points

See the ahem (prat & wally) on here who don't get this is a forum for opinions & points of view feel free not to come on here then...I don't call them names I could its very easy to hide & be a keyboard warrior ?.. i comment on the speedway & if I think a rider isn't good enough or is dangerous to others ,gonna cost my team a chance of title I will put that point across its allowed ...no points made here then no forum surely its not just for cheerleading you can do that with pom poms at any speedway stadium...if you don't agree it's fine but see if you wouldn't say anything to my face don't txt it on here & run away ...as for ace rode his socks of at Workington that is nowhere near the level required to beat Poole...he has clearly been struggling for glasgow Workington has got nothing to do with it ..he's fell again tonight fact which is something he is regularly doing that was my point ..I think in a few yrs he might be ok but he's struggling badly now thats my point & I stand by it ..2 points

3 of the most well attended meetings I've been to this season have all been held on a Saturday night... just saying2 points

Erm, this entire thread is about Phil Morris's evidence to the Coventry Stadium inquiry in which he said it was likely that a new track completely new to Speedway would be coming into the leagues next season. What on earth do you think we've been discussing for the last 4 pages?2 points

So, you want speedway to become a contact sport? The more riders in hospital the better, eh?2 points

@Charlieboy not necessarily, if Woffy was kept as an injury replacement for Holder, then Jack could have come back in, it would have meant keeping Ellis & Kerr though, not bringing in C.Holder & Vissing. Would have meant less guests needed, which they wouldn't have known they'd need at the time obviously.1 point

Tomorrow's looking good for racing, the flooding happened mainly near Bute and as nobody ever goes there it's not really worth worrying about.1 point
-
If it's called off Mon night can't see it going on Tues either as there is already a severe weather warning been issued for the West of Scotland for Tuesday. Maybe Poole will have to host the first leg on Wed?1 point

Been to Redcar enough times to notice when they are losing the tractors come out more. I prefer minimum delay, let tracks evolve and only grade if really necessary. At the EWR, track grader is the promoter, owner and often team manager as well as BSP Chairman!1 point

That’s the best signing this current promotion have made during their tenure so far. Well done fantastic appointment.1 point

Excuse me , i am not rude or call anyone names especially not the nice folk from Glasgiow1 point

Anyone can say they're underdogs to take the pressure off. Given Poole's history they are favourites but since the signing of Tarasenko Glasgow av levelled up.....excuse the political pun! C'mon the Pirates1 point

Hand nothing to Lambert, it’s meaningless. I’m a Tigers and Aces fan but the real league champions are BV or ANY team that tops the table after a full seasons effort. Not the Micky Mouse play off farce. Teams should only be able to bring in a guest replacement who has raced all season in the league for an injured rider, not just a rider who couldn’t be bothered to ride in the UK. And you wonder why the sport if a joke. I don’t know how Kelvin keeps a straight face when explaining who’s who and who they really ride for.1 point

Hard to believe Mr Chapman's assertion that this wasn't a "cash cow". Perhaps he will in due course substantiate this but more likely it will remain "strictly private"1 point

Ah so alway goes well now means had 1 good meeting there that happened to his most recent one. Got you lol. Zach has 2 scores of 6 and 1 of 7 at ashfield. I'd say that's more encouraging than someone who had 1 good meeting. No it's clearly not Zach's favourite track but should be more than capable of scoring well1 point
-
That's true but the coc cannot tell the referee when it will be grading only team managers and the track curator can also. Hopefully that clear's that up?1 point

Enjoyable meeting and some good racing, track held up well, despite all the rain in worky the last few days, some good riding by the team, impressed with senna summers, one to watch I think, if luke crang rode like this all season, comets would have won more meetings, but been a good year for the return of the comets, thanks to Andrew Bain for bringing them back, let's wait and see what happens next year. Next week the NDLRC if the riders turn up and give it a go, could be a very good meeting, let's hope the weather gods are on our side1 point

He's fast, but he needs to learn racing and positioning around others. When you're the big fish in the small pond like he was until now, you don't need those skills. If he's the real deal, they will come.1 point

They get gaps between races surely? Plenty of time for a brew...1 point
