TBH Simon has had one, if not his best season ever, which is great to see. He's "stuck at it" when others might have been tempted to "chuck it in".5 points

That’s why theses fixtures should have been raced earlier in the season when tracks are drier and can be worked on 9 team s in a league , BSN series and knockout cup fixtures and still riding in mid October is crazy4 points

No need to, Dr Shovelar's signed his fitness form he's good to go. Think the good Dr is also heading out to Denmark to carry out a fitness test on Claus later this afternoon.4 points

There are a lot of wise words here. Re the final para I think it is quite possible that AEPG will revise the application now before it goes to ctte in attempt to head off some of the arguments, which could delay the process by several months. Oh and those councillors you are seeking to influence may well read Panthers social media as a result of being lobbied, so try and remove all those references to councillors taking 'brown envelopes'. Nothing is guaranteed to lose the sympathy more quickly of someone whose voice could be an important one in our favour. [Councillor of 18 years]4 points

Enjoyable meeting and some good racing, track held up well, despite all the rain in worky the last few days, some good riding by the team, impressed with senna summers, one to watch I think, if luke crang rode like this all season, comets would have won more meetings, but been a good year for the return of the comets, thanks to Andrew Bain for bringing them back, let's wait and see what happens next year. Next week the NDLRC if the riders turn up and give it a go, could be a very good meeting, let's hope the weather gods are on our side3 points

Poole could switch scunny to wednesday for cup final if still want 2nd let at home. Like been said before last thing we want is a 60 off hiding coming back for a damp squib second leg do quite happy for them to do it3 points

Part of me thinks you’re right. However it can’t be under estimated how much these two have brought to the club in terms of adding the feel good factor & the general positivity around the place. For that reason what they bring across the season is far more important.3 points

It’s been a shame for the last few seasons, but it certainly ruined tonight’s meeting.2 points

Correct. 1991 finished second in the league. Lyons was sold/transferred to Belle Vue soon after that for the 1992 season. But still had Bowes and Mick Powell who were also on the way up, it would be Super Steve's last season in 1992, but then had Nagy who would be 1992 divisional rider's champion, as well as Neil Collins, 1992 finished 3rd in the league. And then of course Tigers were league champions and ko cup winners in both 1993 and 1994 seasons when the league was decided as it should be - by finishing top of the league.2 points

We want the 1st leg, so perhaps Wednesday morning would suit. The Glasgow riders can fly down to Bournemouth airport on the Allied Vehicles private plane and be in plenty of time for the 2nd leg.2 points

I'm very happy to see that Sport England has now objected to the planning application and has included a section on the proposed loss of the speedway track within it's objection. It references the face that the application does not deal with the loss in accordance with LP30 and LP36 and the relevance of para 99 of the NPPF Sports England also references comments from the RFU, Football Foundation and ECB, as well as commenting on the proposed golf facility - broadly suggesting that more consultation is required with those bodies and that the need be demonstrated Another positive step I believe. The Council cannot just ignore all these objections, including where they come from sports governing bodies - even if AEPG thinks it can run roughshod over them 01322034.pdf (peterborough.gov.uk)2 points

That was laying a new track in an existing stadium. That's doable in the time. But building from scratch like say Workington would be a tough ask between now and April.2 points

Was it though? Even Kelvin said the racing wasn't good. Barring 13, 14 & 15 was gate and go. Didn't think that or the wolves meeting previous was a very satisfactory ending to the season being run in terrible conditions. Once again the huge issue with play offs in this country, running most important meetings of the season in October!!2 points

Emil & Doyle back and make sure Rew starts at reserve. Do away with RS in Premiership & put that in Championship. If it is only 6 teams raise the team limit to 452 points

See the ahem (prat & wally) on here who don't get this is a forum for opinions & points of view feel free not to come on here then...I don't call them names I could its very easy to hide & be a keyboard warrior ?.. i comment on the speedway & if I think a rider isn't good enough or is dangerous to others ,gonna cost my team a chance of title I will put that point across its allowed ...no points made here then no forum surely its not just for cheerleading you can do that with pom poms at any speedway stadium...if you don't agree it's fine but see if you wouldn't say anything to my face don't txt it on here & run away ...as for ace rode his socks of at Workington that is nowhere near the level required to beat Poole...he has clearly been struggling for glasgow Workington has got nothing to do with it ..he's fell again tonight fact which is something he is regularly doing that was my point ..I think in a few yrs he might be ok but he's struggling badly now thats my point & I stand by it ..1 point

And for us some fantastic entertainment - was pleased to be there the night he broke the track record. as sign of his stature is how popular he proved at other tracks despite usually beating all the home heat leaders.1 point

And I am sure he will give everything for Glasgow tomorrow.1 point

Ace is only interested in ace pijper I see he's fell again zero interest in tigers winning title trophy he clearly can't see himself race ...I've clearly said before the boy isn't good enough for championship level & I stand by that , tigers are weak & vulnerable with the lad & much stronger with other riders I could name j Smith s hagon etc but he will race on regardless he's came back way too soon he should have left it & returned next season try again but no its all about him anybody who wants the club to win can clearly see he needed to stand down, he's also dangerous to others riders on the track & if anything happens some of us can see it was coming , all this sounds very harsh but I don't know the boy so how could it be personal it's not its what I see with my eyes & it's an opinion ..ps tigers don't want the 2nd leg at home they want to race at home first anybody who thinks tigers are wanting the weather to play a part in that are barking up the wrong tree due to crowd attendance at ashfield get pumped away & home tie is affected ...1 point

Some good racing this afternoon, Connor Bailey was superb , heat 15 was fantastic , agree Senna could be a good addition next year if the League set up is similar next year. Thanks to all the lads who put on the Comets bib this season , a great comeback year.1 point

Personally I don't think that should be allowed, yes they get priority in chose the second leg at home, but that shouldn't mean postponing the match just to keep the second leg?1 point

That would conflict with Phil Morris's statement that it's a completely new venue for speedway But I can't see something being built from scratch between now and April, so I'd guess there must be some existing stadium for other sport that just needs a track putting in.1 point

If he has a medical certificate to say otherwise then he is injured, it’s all conjecture let’s wait and see if he is fit or not. The track may or may not be a quagmire lots of if buts or maybes in your post. It will be whatever it will be instead of just making stuff up.1 point

Whilst Denmark, Sweden and Poland have fixed race nights there won’t be one big league in the UK. Next year the Prem will have at least 6 (Birm, BV, KL, Leic, Ips, Shef) possibly 7 with the new track (not blabbing with the location, I’ll let the promotion do that). As for team building average needs a bump up from 39 to either 40.5 or 41 to allow teams to get a couple of big hitters in (existing or new to league) and a decent engine room rather than being full of 4 pointers.1 point

Why do people keep saying Woffinden swore on TV, i thought it was on an interview at the stadium over the PA?1 point

"Sadly, the bigger picture to the BSPL will be that it was a classic season. Underdogs reach the final, a huge comeback by Sheffield that went down to the wire. Regardless of Lambert coming in for the final, they will see it that GP riders want to be involved in British Speedway. By bringing Birmingham in to replace Wolves gives the league credibility again in their eyes, despite Brummies not being there on any sort of merit but having spent the last 5yrs flirting with the wooden spoon and survival! But still the BSPL think everything is rosy in the garden.... " yup ... sadly no need for any changes as it has been such a successful season ....... article i read in the Star quoted Birmiongham as being 80/20 likely to run in 2024 with only Mondays available thus obliging them to apply to run in the PL, and only for a 1 year lease courtesy of the greyhound promotion a Perry Barr. Hardly a a long term future, and speedway seems to stagger along year by year. Credit where credit is due though seems this season the PL p. offs and the KO Cup have been completed in a timely manner.1 point

In World terms I'd say he's considerably better than Kurtz, Musielak & Fricke. I'd question if he was regularly giving 100% for BV this season personally.1 point
-
I'd say the exact opposite, Barker would be the first name on my team sheet without a doubt. I see no reason why his average would drop, besides you don't need all 7 to up their averages to make the play-offs. Look at Stevie Worrall at Poole for a prime example, Complin dropped his average for Glasgow etc. Apart from that, it may not be able to sign heat leaders racing on a Saturday night?1 point

Replacing Lidsey? No way can BV work him, Bewley and Kurtz into a team again1 point

I tend to agree with CR, had Zmarzlik been in the Crump, Pedersen, Gollob, Rickardsson era he'd have been eating much much more plywood. Absolutely nobody want to ride him to the fence when he goes round them. When he dive bombs, nobody tactically jumps off their bike. Speedway has become to nice1 point

I know you’re just a troll and I shouldn’t rise to it but Laguta has absolutely taken the P1$$ out of British speedway this year, turned up as and when he feels like, more than one occasion frankly he should’ve been handed a 28 day ban for withholding his services. Talented throttle jockey don’t get me wrong but his commitment to British speedway has no comparison to Emil and he’s shown the British fans a lack of respect imo1 point
