Ipswich went to Sheffield, expecting to nail the part, but all that they could manage, was a few damp squelchy farts.8 points

Well done Sheffield, commiserations Ipswich. That was a much better meeting than Tuesday on a much better track despite the rain. Naughty from Doyle in heat 13, I'm glad he was found wanting in the deciding race, have never been a fan. Was an absolute plank off track too in his younger days. The guest situation is a long way short of ideal but you reap what you sow I'm afraid. Pleased for Jason Edwards and Josh Pickering who started the season as Stars, and of course Norfolk's finest6 points

You do come out with some claptrap, I wasn't bothered who won but you've made me glad that Sheffield did it. You're the bitterest poster on here by a long long way.6 points

Is it true that the Sheffield medals are inscribed "To whom it may concern" ?6 points

How good was it to see Doyle being the one to lose it for Ippo… absolute danger on a bike6 points

A friend of my nan was there and said Ipswich fans have been nicking peoples hats and s*******g in them…. Horrible fans5 points
-
It was just like the film "The Magnificent 7" Richie Hawkins grew a silly moustache to look like Eli Wallach and plan a daring raid. And Sheffield hired 7 random mercenaries to do the fighting for the simple village folk.5 points

Of course it's a farce. It has been for years. The alternative is going down with honour, like Wroclaw did in the Ekstraliga final, but British fans don't seem to want that.5 points

Tonight was a wonderful advert for adverts.5 points

No we will be fine A referee got one decision wrong in heat 4 when Hume locked up and Doyle hit him You won’t find one Ipswich fan who dowsnt think we got lucky in heat 4 we all totally believe Hume was fortunate and the ref made the wrong choice Whats hilarious is the Sheffield fans blaming the ref for making lots of bad decisions …. It was one and it cost Sheffield a point as the re run was a 4-2 and if Hume had have been excluded it would have been a 3-3 In the semi final Connor Bailey was not under power when a race was stopped yet was still awarded a point that ultimately almost cost Ipswich….. hasn’t been pages and pages about the ref from Ipswich fans Instead of blaming the ref perhaps Sheffield fans can look at the performances of certain riders as the issue ….. and the petulant brat at number one5 points

Don't know what many on here were moaning about, I thought that was great entertainment with some fine speedway in the later heats. So pleased for Joshie Pickering, the rider of the final in my eyes with two blistering heat 14s. Congratulations to Sheffield and commiserations to Ipswich - two fully committed teams giving it their all in difficult conditions.4 points

Friends of mine and other Ipswich fans have had to leave for fear of their own safety and couldn’t even go talk to the Ipswich riders to thank them for their season … lovely fans up there4 points

What a finish, great meeting for the neutral, don't care who wins but I've enjoyed it.4 points

Well the track isn't too bad, but you can always count on Doyle to make it look dangerous. Utter lunatic.4 points

Running in October usually means crap weather... Crap weather usually means crap tracks... Crap tracks means crap racing bordering on the wrong side of acceptable from the danger side of the sport.. Who knew?4 points

It's so nice of them to squeeze a bit of Speedway in between the adverts!4 points

Since 2021 King 60 pts from 32 rides Riss 24 pts 22 rides Rew 11 pts 12 rides http://www.gbspeedway.com/2023/searchridervstrack.php?mc1=s&mc2=rv&mc3=x&mc4=x&er=0 Does all the work4 points

I disagree. The track was too wet prior to put track covers down. The base needs to be bone dry for track covers to work otherwise they pull the moisture to the surface.4 points

Going up to support the Pirates. We love our speedway. Hope to see some more supporters there. Its going to be a tough one.4 points

Firstly where these fans stood? Because I was stood maybe 70 yards away from where the majority of the Ipswich supporters were stood and did not see anything, but that is not to say it did not happen. If it did it is wrong and apologise on behalf of Sheffield supporters who can control there emotions and not let the club down with their behaviour. What I won't accept is someone coming on here and labelling all of us in the same boat, we are not and you should not be coming on here and accusing us all been the same. I will bet that you can go to any track in the country and you will find that there will be fans that just cannot behave.3 points

Again take a look back over ths thread… not sure Ipswich fans are either3 points

Congratulations to Sheffield. Unlike the commentators, I don't think it was at all surprising that Sheffield pulled this back, Ipswich have too many weak links on away tracks. The only surprise for me was that it was only 4 in the end, it looked like it was going to be more at heat 10. It wasn't much of a watch, they seemed to be rushing with a bit too much haste to heat 10 at least so they would be guaranteed a result. I'm not an Ipswich fan, but there are still unnecessary digs at their track, and also at Jason Doyle. Can't people just enjoy their win?3 points

Unfortunately that's the way goes sometimes,,,,well done Sheffield,,, maybe next year ipswich,,, or maybe not3 points
-
Well done Sheffield, wanted it more, as for Ipswich how do you throw away 18 points lead? too many passengers, the title isn't tainted because of guests, what do you expect Sheffield to do, It's Speedway Injuries happen.....as for guests getting a medal, that's farcical, I'd be giving mine to Tobi who was there for 99% of the season.3 points

Fairplay to Sheffield rode hard in tough conditions, track got better again late meeting when the rain eased. witches can hold their heads high, battles all year and lost the grand final by 4 points with the same side they started with.3 points

Racing in this rain is a joke, why move Monday if you’re just gonna ride in pouring rain Thursday anyway haha what a spectacle for Sheffield fans, Ipswich fans and neutrals3 points
-
Couldn't have Sheffield rode this on another day? Or are they limited to what night they ride on? Shocking way to finish the season3 points

Abby, “and as the rain comes down we are going to have (another) break.”3 points

If the rain is coming down, why the hell have they only run one heat by 8 o’clock3 points

If planning is refused it’s gonna cost him a small fortune (which he doesn’t appear to have) to appeal. I am pretty comfortable in seeing his pockets emptied.3 points

I still can’t get over that pop from the crowd when Complin took Kerr wide and allowed Brennan through for a heat fourteen 5-1. I thought those atmospheres were saved for Ibrox and Celtic Park in Glasgow.3 points

I remember Lee Richardson when he joined Poole as a raw kid. 0,0,0 virtually every week. But he showed good signs of potential like Boughen. Lee went in to have a great career. He needs time and if he is dedicated there’s no reason why he can’t emulate Bewley or Lambert. Good luck to the lad.3 points

He "only" finished 5th because he was behind two top-6 GP riders. Not beating top-6 riders shouldn't be a slight on any rider. Kvech also finished in front of riders like Lebedevs who got a wild card, Fricke who didn't make the final & Woffinden who didn't enter. So he deserves his spot ahead of many in the GP imo3 points

They have definitely been shocked by the number of objections to their development plans, they seemed to think it was a done deal, a walk in the park. They didn’t bank on the outrage they have been hit with from local residents and Speedway supporters not only in Peterborough, around the U.K. and even the wider world. This is what happens when some random bloke from Surrey rocks up with a plan, who has no affinity for our city, no thought for our sporting heritage and no understanding of local people.3 points

Don't want to be seeing him in a similar photo next Wednesday night!2 points

Blue touchpaper well and truly lit. Sit back, open the popcorn, it's going to go off bigtime now.2 points

No tears here thanks - it really won't change my life My only sadness is for my friends for whom it still does really mean something Would've loved to see the smiles on the faces of Danny and Ritchie had they managed to lift the pot. Chris and Guy deserved it too Ho hum - there's always next year2 points
