  1. As long as they continue to block the Russians it's pretty much invalid as a World Championship as far as I'm concerned. I wonder if they should put in some sort of legal challenge against this, seeing as Russian competitors are able to tale part in other individual sports under a neutral flag. Look at tennis, for example. The recent US open had a Russian in the men's final and a Belarussian in the women's final. Even Wimbledon relented this year and allowed them back in after their points were removed from the World ranking the previous year.. I even remember a statement being made by the Russian federation a couple of years ago stating that they had banned Laguta from competing for Russia due to comments made about Putin. There is no valid reason to exclude them any more than there would have been to exclude Hancock and Loram because of the Iraq war.

  2. What an obnoxious little Turd Lambert is.

  3. Yep, I can't stand him or anyone else who uses our league as a cash cow. That's why I've got so much respect for Jason Doyle because he's always been loyal to our league.

  4. The biggest joke is him showing no desire to ride Speedway in his home country and then just pop over for the play offs every year! The bellend.

  5. Cry more Robert Lambert. If he hates our tracks so much then why doesn't he sod off to Poland permanently instead of using our league as a cash cow once his Polish fixtures finish. Take the other baby (Holder) with him.

  9. I think theres quite a big over reaction, you bascially have Zmarzlik, then another 7/8 riders top riders, and then probably the next 20 there isnt even that much in it. Gives the series a bit of a refresh and hopefully some of the new riders will take the experience on board and potentially crack the top 6 before the likes of Fricke, Magic etc. are back in for 2025. Also gives those riders a bit of a kick to actually push on and not rely on a wildcard pick.

  10. Box office too... Interesting to see how the two truly world class riders on show tonight could handle the track... Men and Boys springs to mind...

  11. Robert Lambert go sod off back to Poland instead of coming here for a pay day…. Whinge and moan sorry he just got master classed by Doyle and Emil and spat his dummy out Another one of these riders who wants a billiard table for a track And what riders were going through the fence?? Hume was all over the place but never causes any other riders to fall Hume should have been excluded from heat 4 yes Holder is a liability perhaps if some of the Sheffield team put in the effort of Pickering they might have done ok Up the Witches …. Let’s hope Lambert has bike troubles Thursday

  12. Robert Lambert’s been chomping on the sour grapes! Didn’t like anything he had to say - came across bitter. Up the witches!!

  13. Think the BSPA should bring in the Polish rule in that all tracks should be prepared within certain parameters. They had all day to prepare a decent surface but produced this. Yes it gives Ipswich a massive home advantage but for the fans it’s a very poor spectacle.

  18. It's not woke is it ? It is commercial. The GP system has been like that since before 'woke' was thought up by those that can't get to grips with how the world works

  19. The argument about Polish tracks is a nonsense. For a start, a round, or two, in Wroclaw favours Laguta more than it does Zmarzlik. One rides the track virtually every day during the season, the other visits twice a year at best. The lack of track variety in 2021 arguably cost Zmarzlik the title. If Cardiff and Teterow hadn't been cancelled it's unlikely Art wins the series given his struggles on anything moderately technical. You could have 10 rounds at Scunthorpe and Zmarzlik would still win it. He's simply better at adapting to any type of track on the planet than any of the others at present. And his will and commitment to winning are second to none. It's actually borderline offensive that people think he just has to turn up to win it without putting any work in.

  20. I've always supported Lambert in the past, but tonight be confirmed what a jumped up little twonk he is. "The track was a joke" "I've already had a word with the referee about Thursday." I'm pigged off with these end of season mercenaries turning up for a big end of season pay day, who probably end up with a league winners medal, but don't give a chuff about British speedway. If you can't be arsed to commit to a full season riding over here, don't bother to turn up for a couldn't give a sh*t which team I ride for, for the last two weeks of the season, big bonus.

  21. Racing not as good as normal at Ashfield due to tricky track conditions and dubious preparation, but still an exciting tense meeting. Glasgow got lucky in heat 12 - why wasn't Complin in it in the first place? Lee the match winner in heat 14 with a brilliant first lap - so pleased for him. Congratulations to the Tigers.

  23. I think that it's more to do with the fact that he picked up a cheap gold medal for BV last year and planned on doing the same thing for Sheffield this year. It's like it was going to become a tradition for him to slot in with the favourites for the semis and the final. What Del boy would call a 'nice little earner'.

  24. Get in there. Who says Lee complin would cost us any chance!! What a performance sir. Great effort by the cheetahs for once stripes came on strong second half. What an atmosphere

  25. Can’t understand why no Complin in heat 12 strange call.

  26. Hume has balls big enough to come in a dump truck, but unfortunately he doesn’t have the skill or talent to go full throttle in to the bends. He needs to learn when to knock off the throttle a tad and calm down a bit.

  29. They lost Heeps early on and Boughen took a heavy knock early in the meeting and still got 40pt.Add too that that Nichols was having bike troubles. This will be close IMO.

  30. I think he plans what he needs to do to get to the semi finals and then it steps it up a gear. He's the complete package. He'll go on, I hope, to break all the records.

  31. Proper scraping the bottom of the barrel economy muck those burgers! Every year somebody somewhere convinces me they’ve “improved” and I’m daft enough to believe them and give them another go. The reality hits after the first bite and first chew of bone and gristle and in the bin it goes. Proper rank! The hot dogs aren’t any better, stale baguettes and a sausage with an armoured coating that’ll get you an appointment at the dentist on the Friday. You fill ya boots though

  32. 5 or 6 ...same as Harris unlikely to trouble the main guys in 13 and 15 ..amazed Harris never got a wildcard into the GPS.quite clearly the selection panel can't have read this topic

  33. I've got no issues with those picks personally. We'd all like the Russians back in of course but they've freshened things up and that's a good thing IMO.

  34. There seems to be a lot of posts mainly criticising the fact Emil and Artem haven't got wildcard picks. Rightly or wrongly, the FIM has always said they won't be in it in 2024, so it shouldn't really come as a surprise to anybody. There were never going to be in it. Someone even posted an interview with Viegas, confirming they won't be in.

  35. Struggling to understand that. Everyone moaning its the same picks every year. Then they pick different riders and everyone wants the old regular picks back in . Apart from Laguta & Sayfutdinov I can't think of anyone else who'd enhance the GP series. As for Zmarzlik. Hes on a different planet to every other rider.

  36. Personally I think we are weaker without Vissing, his r/r scores have been 5 home and away, whereas his scores at home last few matches have been 11+1, 7+2 ( with an exclusion) and 7+1, away have been, 5, 6, 7+1, and11+2, so he is a huge miss especially at home

  37. Are you suggesting the bloke who has finished in the top six of the GP's the last two years isn't 'truly world class'? In any case two out of fourteen riders being able to handle the track isn't good enough. That was an awful speedway meeting, and we get far too many of those in this country.

  44. I like the line-up personally with a few different faces in, Surely Woffinden is in last chance now too? If he doesn't get Top 6 in 2024 that should be him done. I personally think the Wildcards should be scrapped full stop and all riders should have to qualify on merit for the GP Series.

  45. The final nail in the GP coffin Ive said all along that apart from the result of the challenge and having no influence on the top 6 that we should try and get the best 15 riders in the world in the series I dont believe that just because your form might be waning a bit (Tai, Magic ,Dudek) must mean we need new blood...................Many said that about Lindgren and look how he has improved Those people on here who been wanting new blood well you have it and how poor is this line up! Woznaik and Kvech qualified by merit Kubera, Lebedevs and Huchenbeck..............over Fricke Dudek and Janowski do me a favour!!! The riders listed on the site promo are in 3 lines of 5..............id be stunned if the bottom line were not the bottom 5 at the end of the season Total loss of credibility to the sport

  46. What a horrific line up. All political the picks which is truly embarrassing. Going to be a rather strung out series with a few tailed off. need to get Emil and artem back in.

  48. Awful....the German is nowhere near gp standard and Lebedevs is pretty erratic to say the least bit my biggest gripe is the hit and miss GP qualifying series resulting in the likes of Kvech in the series , either everybody has to enter or just do away with it...he's in on a technicality but even worse i still cannot see why the winner of the SEC series takes a spot? Kvech Huchenbeck Lebedevs? Meh. Michelsen disappoints consistently but the ommision again of Emil and Artem is a shot in the foot....these organisers and decision makers are a shambles absolutely ruining SGP , can shove next season up there arse it's crap now

  49. Brennan mom lived with Martin Dugard as partners for many years before she sadly passed due to cancer I don't believe they ever married so strictly speaking not step son. He mentored Tom though and some I know think Tom has suffered since he moved away from the Dugards to base himself in the Midlands.
