Do supporters really get the same satisfaction seeing their team win after your team drafts in the cavalry just prior to the play offs? Maybe it’s just me but I’d much rather see my team lift silverware with most if not all of the team that you’ve spent all season supporting. I get that some changes are forced due to injury and there’s nothing that can be done about that, but even then it would still take the shine off any win for me when the team that lifts it is unrecognisable from the team you’ve watched all year.8 points

Bartosz and Freddie 18 semis - 16 finals reached Dan and Robert - 15 semis - 4 finals That's where it is won and lost.6 points

Well when his main 2 rivals in the competition have been removed it certainly helps He's brilliant. But the fact of the matter is he also has a lot of advantages on his side too.5 points

Failing spectacularly LOL So their last season in the GP, Laguta and Emil came 1st and 3rd when 6 out of 10 events were in Poland. They then had to take a full year out (& for any athlete in any sport that is tremendously detrimental) . And they have come back and are easily in the top 10 riders in the world. Them not being in the series completely devalues it. Bartosz is an absolutely brilliant rider, but he and the other Polish boys already has massive advantage over the rest of the field. 3+ GPs in Poland every year, the final round in Poland every year. Its completely unfair in all honesty. Now I'm sure people will say they all ride in Poland, well yes that's true. But the fact of the matter is home comforts and a home crowd are a massive advantage in any sport. That got Poland over the line in the SWC this year. Its why a very weak GB team took Poland all the way in the SWC in 2016 and why GB won SoN a couple of years ago despite their best rider getting injured on day 1. Not a chance that happens on Foreign soil. Plus its very well documented how much influence the Polish authorities have behind the scenes to make sure Poland stay on top. Again, Bartosz is a Brilliant rider, one of the best to ever do it, but if it carries on like this just give him the title for the next 5 years and be done with it.4 points

Look to the positives and support the club and applaud Nigel Tolley for his efforts & cash. If the club runs premiership it's still running.4 points

1) The advantages being he has 3 home rounds every year & his Two main rivals, 1 being the guy that beat him to a world title, were taken out the series. 2) How can you possibly tell Laguta has regressed, he isn't in the series. World Championships and league racing 2 very different animals. I will repeat BZ is brilliant, but how can having the 2 riders that finished 1 place either side of him taken out the series not help him?!!3 points

My bad (again!). Of course he rode some matches for KL! He rode one away match for BV (the one I was thinking of). So, he has ridden 7 league matches, but only 2 at home - thus needing 1 more to attain an Established MA ... although the BSPL reckons his 2019 Final Green Sheet is an Established MA.* * Thinking about that, if Lambert's 2019 average is an Established MA, why haven't they just added his handful of recent league scores to those figures to continue his Rolling Average? If they had done that, there could be no comeback. Because they haven't, the very valid argument remains that Lambert is on an Assessed MA, as per the Green Sheets.3 points

I'd go for Dave Rowe I think he's name is, does bits now and again. Seems to know what's going on during meetings3 points

It still irks me that people say Lambert was “only signed for the play-offs”. BV used Lambert because Fricke was injured, no other reason.3 points

Hmmm. World Final head-to-head record was 8-3 to Erik, including two run-offs for the title. You can make a valid case for Nielsen having a better career record. But I think its pretty clear Erik was better when it came to crunch-time between the two. As for Zmarzlik's place in history, I think he's one of the greatest ever. There are no mugs in the GPs, as there were in many World Finals. There's no Petr Ondrasiks or Robert Slabons. I don't think there many - if any - World Finals where you could make a valid case that all the world's best were present. He's proved himself the best of the era and not just in what he has won, also the way he does it. He can win from the front, win from the back, on any type of track and in pressure situations. And you honestly can't say that of a lot of all-time greats. He's a tremendous rider.3 points

Schroedinger's Poles Polish enough to be riding in Ekstraliga as Polish citizens on Polish passports with Polish licences, but not Polish enough for FIM competition.3 points

For me heat format should be revised where 6 & 7 meet each other and numbers 2 & 4. Riders 1,3 & 5 should meet each other and numbers 2,4 so you're always racing against riders of their own level or in positions in teams they hope to get to . I will never be convinced that a reserve should ever get the opposition heat leaders2 points

I really feel for CL, honestly I m convinced he wouldn't have given tomorrow as an alternative knowing the crossover we have with the football.2 points

Is it just as much about another club not going out of business and trying to keep the sport going when it is under threat from so many angles. Birmingham may not be many people’s cup of tea but give credit to those running Birmingham speedway for looking to keep the club going. They may not attract Wolves fans but you still have many Speedway supportes who do not follow one club but the sport as a whole and for what it is. Other parts of the speedway world don’t solely rely on club/league racing and do quite well so let’s all get behind those willing to invest given you have others walking away (Chapman and Peterborough.2 points

I don't understand why people ask "does anyone have any news" when there's news the BSPL / SCB will announce it, until then it's just people opinions & speculation - which is interesting & what the forum is for. But don't expect concrete answers till the AGM.2 points

So you will let us all know when its official (and the information becomes public). Thanks for that.2 points

Lambo has ridden 2 home and 4 away meetings for Lynn. In those 6 he has averaged 9.60... I think he needed 3 home and 3 away to get a new average though. 2023 Rider Statistics – British Speedway Official Website2 points

I believe it was "close to signing tarasenko" was mentioned above. He was signed late August, why would he have gone to Brum for no play offs . I think a man whose thrown 200k down a hole (however well meaning it is) for 0 rewards should be careful about bringing up the finances of others2 points

Don't play the last ever game that AEPG, Chapman & some supporters are pushing is my suggestion. With planning up in the air, nothing is going to happen at the EoES for years sufficient to stop Peterborough Speedway running for several seasons at the very least. Also, with a local plan review under way and Peterborough City Council under increasing pressure, the only thing to say farewell to is 2023 and Chapman's tenure as he's made it clear that he does not want to take Panthers forward.2 points

Go on .. do it ... ...I just want to see who's head explodes first at the suggestion he retain his 6.50 average2 points

Let’s hope so as Nigel is willing to spend the money. the biggest problem last year was letting Laurence rogers have a say in team building ,he’s clueless on that front . just don’t let Laurence Rogers have any involvement in team building. and we may have a chance .2 points

As averages come back to 42 or so each year, using 40 for a further two or three years represents a continuing dilution of 5% each year. No team would be able to track the same side year on year.2 points

I agree that Holder looks the most likely to emerge from the pack as the main challenger. Bewley has it in him though. He has so much natural ability, but you can actually see him stiffen on the bike whenever there is a bit of tight racing and he inevitably ends up behind everyone. He can overcome that, though. Needs a good mentor in his corner, perhaps, to get him to the next level.2 points

As a new club entering the premiership I hope they get first refusal on the Peterborough and Wolverhampton riders before the other vultures make their move2 points

Robert was injured for the Kings Lynn meeting lol. I think we all just want to see a fit and proper system for covering Playoff injuries. Personally signings if possible are a better option than guests.2 points

But it won't happen without some sort of limit on heatleader strength. History shows that it is almost always the 5 point riders who get dropped for even weaker 2.00 reserves.2 points

Last time I looked there was 0.083 between Bartosz and Emil (wouldn't say that is a spectacular fail) in the extraliga averages? What I would add is that Emil was above 14 GP riders in the averages. Think Bartosz won 3-2 in their head to heads in the regular season and I think it was 3-3 in the playoffs (possibly with an exclusion for Emil).2 points

Interesting you choose Sayfutdinov but not Laguta considering Laguta is an undefeated World Champion. I think if you have one you need both.2 points

I'm not saying they are better. I'm saying they need to be there so that Zmarzlik can prove he is better than them. I do think he'd still win, but without proving it we cannot be sure. After all, he didn't win the last time they were in it. Yes, I see what you did there. You mentioned issues that were speedway related or down to the riders themselves. That is not the case here. I mean, suppose Rickarsson and Pedersen were banned for some reason. Does Jason Crump then become the best rider of all time by default? He would, after all, have probably won 8 world titles. Ekstrliga is irrelevant. That's league form. Erik Gundersen failed spectacularly to show he was better than Hans Nielsen in the British League. When it came to World finals he had his number.2 points

As a worky fan I just hope we have some speedway to watch, the NDL looks to only have a couple of teams that may run, Imo the comets need another year before they may be able to move up, only able to run afternoon meetings at weekends, no lighting at the moment, so if they move up you have the extra costs of the new league plus cost of lighting, so imo not viable unfortunately1 point
