I'm still of the opinion that Lambert guesting is NOT within the rules The fact that he has been ruled suitable and allowed to line up is a shameful disgrace and a travesty NEVER before has a rider with an assessed average been allowed to take a guest booking and there has been quoted precedent (BWD?) where it has been declined in the past in the same circumstances as now being allowed7 points

Did you even type that with a straight face? It’s your promoter who clearly has a win at all costs attitude regardless of the integrity of his choices. Should we be surprised though? After all this is the bloke who insisted his nephew who wasn’t far off qualifying for a testimonial, should be eligible for a “rising star” role as he (wrongly as it turned out) assumed it would give his team a huge advantage!6 points

I'm half expecting with how the regs seem to be interpreted lately that it is announced that Harris has to honour his guest booking and Glasgow have to find their own guest5 points

Here's an idea. Stick to the thread (Redcar vs Glasgow, in case you've forgotten) and GROW UP some of you.5 points

Completely missing the point and looking at too narrow a picture The semi - irrelevant, the final - irrelevant, who wins and loses - irrelevant Integrity, transparency, consistency - relevant5 points

I don’t think anyone is disputing you are not abiding by the rules but its difficult to be sympathetic when you sacked two fit riders just before the cut off. all within the rules but does give the impression of win at all costs. up the witches4 points

We are working within the rules, Ipswich seem to have a problem with this because it gives us a chance4 points

Fear of people called Russell? Lefty 'woke' people would surely disagree with excluding people based on Nationality? Excluding people based on race, gender, nationality is as right wing as you can get.4 points

No team is going to agree to go to a higher division if its not financially viable.3 points

36 points would be an absolute nonsense imo. Championship been getting diluted for last 2 years because the top league is weaker. Limit teams to 1 8 plus rider or make masters Dougie etc ineligible. Go back to 2 home and 2 away meetings, gives the riders plenty matches without the need to double up. Diluting the sport 10% and asking us mug punters pay the same if not more, na not a chance3 points

May the best team win over 2 legs. I don’t mind which team wins - it will just be good to see these 2 teams doing their best to win it. Guests are a necessary evil and I’m sure if you were to ask any Sheffield supporter, they would much rather have their own riders over any guests but those are the cards they have been dealt. The rules allow Harris to ride (as they have all season) so no point in complaining - although if he had only scored a handful of points in the semis I’m sure no one would be complaining C’mon the Ipsfield Robins (including those currently injured)3 points

Well, that’s interesting. I never named or indicated to whom I was referring. You, basically, have identified yourself as being the said idiot. As for your private message……..shove it!3 points

The reg though states does the rider HAVE an established MA NOT has the rider EVER HAD an established MA By the fact that the old MA is not considered suitable and needs to be reassessed Lambert no longer has an established MA "When it suits" sums it up perfectly2 points

And how many times did i read in the Ipswich threads that the supporters wanted to get rid of King & Riss, a weekly occurrence for quite a few weeks, but Sheffield were wrong to actually do it2 points

In no particular order... 1. Hans Nielsen for his leadership qualities. 2. Garry Middleton for his brashness and ability to wind up the oppostion. 3. Dag Lovaas who was just poetry on a bike. 4. Gordon Kennett for his battling qualities and ability to pass where others feared to venture. 5. Jens Rasmussen for his total commitment and braveness. 6. Marek Cieslak who was a sight to behold round Wood Lane during his debut season there. 7. Kai Niemi who was a solid dependable rider who should have achieved more. Amongst those I would have liked to have included would be Hasse Holmqvist, Ulf Lovaas, George Hunter, Simon Wigg etc etc Trouble is tomorrow my list would probably read differently!2 points

Why do you get so upset about “Joshie” KJ? Your name isn’t KJ or even King Jamie2 points

For me the NDL needs to be scrapped in favour of compulsory running of 2nd half junior matches, a protected place for a "junior" rider position in a reserve berth of the senior team, with the same reserve also competing in the junior match. Those teams that run exclusively in the NDL to go CL or NORA2 points

1. Nicki Pedersen An incredible talent. You could tell when he arrived on these shores in ‘98 with Newcastle that he was destined for the top. 2. Carl Stonehewer Arguably the Premier League/Championship’s greatest ever rider, especially with Workington between 2000 and 2003 when he was also a GP rider. 3. Shane Parker The most entertaining rider I’ve ever saw, by a significant distance. His ability to protect younger, less experienced teams mates to ensure a 5-1 was the most skilful thing I’ve ever saw in speedway. 4. Brian Andersen The smoothest rider I’ve ever saw, narrowly beating Leigh Adams in that category. He would have looked more stressed ironing than riding a speedway bike. 5. Peter Carr I’m a Glasgow fan and this guy broke my heart, but what a rider, especially around Armadale. He had this line coming off the second bend (now the fourth bend) that no-one could stop. 6. Simon Stead I’m amazed this guy didn’t go further or win more. He had talent in abundance. I used to love watching him and was certain he would reach the GPs, maybe even compete. 7. James Grieves The top boy. The legend. The best rider on this list. The housewives favourite. The man who battered Robert Eriksson, Stefan Danno and Frede Schott with one hand preoccupied with a protein shake.2 points

A business model for Speedway is irrelevant. The viability of Speedway is irrelevant. The fact that someone is prepared to refurbish the stadium and run the two sports is surely an argument FOR the viability of the sport(s). BE's failure to comply with the planning & safety requirements throughout their ownership, failure to provide and fund an alternative site for a stadium, ignoring local residents opposition for the redevelopment etc. should also be taken into account in rejecting their appeal.2 points

Brilliant decision Harris now cant ride so there isnt a guest as good as he might have done For once the Ipswich promotion not worrying about others and putting the meeting Tuesday so Harris cant ride2 points

While Ekstraliga should not be irrelevant when considering riders who should be gifted a place in the SGP. It shouldn't be the be all and end all. It's been shown time and again that a good Ekstraliga rider does not always translate into being a good rider elsewhere, for whatever reason. Greg Hancock, bang average league rider while he was picking up his later championships. Per Jonsson, bang average in the league before he became World Champion Agree with Hans vs Erik. Hans was undoubtedly a better league rider than Erik. They were pretty level imo when it came to World Championship racing2 points

I've said I would've like to have run with RR even if it meant we didn't win One guest with an average under 7 for an injured 9+ rider taken from a team not in the playoffs is on the sliding scale integrity issues at the very low end Two guests, one a 10 point ringer in a fake 8 point wrapper that is 4 years old (considered irrelevant in EVERY regulation that INCLUDES it but suitable ONLY due to the fact it is NOT mentioned in another) and the other having already been involved in the play offs for another team I will let everybody make up their own mind as to where in the scale that sits....2 points

It's more of an opposite, if you want to keep your Harris' Masters' Kings, Wright's Lawson's and Worrals then the rest of the team will be massively reduced in strength. But again will have to see what they promoters come up with in Tenerife, if it's 36 points will fans be happy to pay £20 a ticket to see an incredibly diluted product. From 2022-2023 they dropped it by two points and virtually every team took a two pointer #7, if it drops from that by another 4 points God help us.2 points

You just change the rules to stop so many doubling up. When first started it was just for British U25s.2 points

Track HAS to be grippy like previous 2 matches ... a proper Foxhsll track This wiill suit the Witches whereby Holder , Lambert, Pickering and Mountain won't like it. As for the racing I don't care if its a thriller as long as the Witches come out on top... Witches hitting at least 55 would be lovely with a gate and go fest.2 points

Better hope they have a big enough trophy to fit all that on it!2 points
-
Can see a Witches win by 10-12 leaving the aggregate finely balanced Bound to be a few surprises through the tie where one of the big boys runs a last or the lower end get a win (either side) It's a final and the adrenaline will be pumping I hope the Witches can edge it - after all can the sport afford to inscribe Sheffield Multi Change and League Select Guests Tigers on the trophy?2 points
-
Ipswich can and will prepare it as they like but not too grippy please, as a neutral I don't want to see riders struggling to get round. Will be interesting to see if Lambert can lower the colours of the Witches top two on a consistent basis tomorrow, I fear Ippo will run away with the first leg and then possibly the tie if not.2 points

I'm not saying they are better. I'm saying they need to be there so that Zmarzlik can prove he is better than them. I do think he'd still win, but without proving it we cannot be sure. After all, he didn't win the last time they were in it. Yes, I see what you did there. You mentioned issues that were speedway related or down to the riders themselves. That is not the case here. I mean, suppose Rickarsson and Pedersen were banned for some reason. Does Jason Crump then become the best rider of all time by default? He would, after all, have probably won 8 world titles. Ekstrliga is irrelevant. That's league form. Erik Gundersen failed spectacularly to show he was better than Hans Nielsen in the British League. When it came to World finals he had his number.2 points

So you think paying Tai and Holder a retainer for a season, hoping they wont be needed will be cheaper, don't forget when Tai and Holder are put into the team, we would need to sign other riders to make up the squad, we have 4 riders out injured, we would have needed an 11 man squad to cover them, then need another four riders to make up the squad back to 11 you think that would be cheaper than what we have done, if it was all teams would do it, none have2 points

After consideration I won't be going even if it's a good line-up. I just can't bring myself to line Buster's pockets one last time after the way he's treated us, I just don't like the bloke. Whether we come to tapes next year or not, I have faith that this won't be the last time we see Panthers on track because we've got a team fighting for us behind the scenes and that team consists of a a group of people who actually love the club unlike Buster.2 points

King has been in really good form through most of September for both clubs but just the last week or two as you say, he’s just starting to drop off it a bit. Desperately need him firing. We also can’t afford to carry anybody so Riss is going to have to contribute something over the next two meetings if we’re to be successful. A repeat of his three duck eggs at Belle Vue will be a disaster, especially without Rew taking a ride as Hume is unlikely to fair much better away from home. By his own admission he’s been surprised and very grateful the promotion stuck by him this year, he now has a golden opportunity to repay that loyalty.2 points

Woffy had no divine right to be in the GPs, & never enters the qualifiers, so I can't see any reason for him to have a strop (if he did).2 points
-
As horrific as the line-up looks, what else is there to be expected? It shows the dumbing down of the league over the last decade. No top rider's in the SGP & Ekstraliga have any relevance to Peterborough Speedway. Are we expecting Crump, Sullivan to don the kevlars again & just ride around at the back waving??2 points
-
Seems very unfair on Buster to expect him to foot the bill for restructuring the Peterborough team (Harris, Tarasenko and Laguta) while denying the opportunity to recoup those costs. Seems some people only want promoters to run loss making meetings, a guaranteed recipe for the sport's demise. I hope that next Saturday is: 1) profitable for Buster 2) a suitably fitting emotional event befitting the ocassion; and 3) not the last we see of speedway in Peterborough2 points

The series is boring without Artem & Emil & needs them back. Sick of watching riders just moving out of the way every time Bartosz gets near them. There will always been a doubt if Bartosz would’ve won if Artem & Emil were in it & he knows that.2 points

I think that's a bit over the top. Laguta has beaten Zmarzlik once, by 3 points. Emil has never finished above him when they've both been permanent riders.2 points

Decided we will not be attending Busters Banking Bonanza looks like maximum profit for minimal outlay, Sponsorship packages, bespoke race jackets bang average riders so far. Not going to put another penny in his pocket to help him support KL next season. Shame he didnt make the same effort to save the club. TIN HAT AT THE READY.2 points

The biggest improvement for me, would be the ability to join the meeting mid way through snd be able to watch it from the start, rather than to have to wait until the meeting is over then, watch it from the start. not everyone has finished work or, done their other domestics or family duties in order to watch from 18.30 / 19.00 and it is. very frustrating to have to wait until the meeting has finished in order to watch the full meeting from the start .2 points
